The debris bounces off his sheild generator, along with several shot. Stelam dives off to cover, finding Jolan there, with a Hirogen rifle and a sead Hirogen Initiate. He signed that the idiot had gotten to close to them when mortar went off.

Stelam looks around. Yah isn't there. He signs at Jolan, having to restart after taking a few shots at a Hirogen, killing it. Jolan signs back, saying that Yah is dead. Stelam's eyes widen, then his jaw locks and he grabs his sword. He hurries out toward a Hirogen, seeming to dodge every shot. He tackles the Hirogen, beinging him to the ground while stradling him, and stabs him over and over in the face. He then rolls off into the brush, as many shots pass over head.

Jolan is suddenly there beside him. Stelam signs, asking how many are left. Jolan signs back, repling with 6. Stelam nods, then motions form Jolan to take the left and him the right. They seperate.

He moves slowly through the grass, it was quiet now. But the quiet matched exactly as he felt, the silence before the storm. He stands up, behind an Initiate. He throws a knife at the back of the neck, killing him. He aims his disruptor at the next, and fires. The Hirogen disintergrates. Stelam dives back into the brush, but a shot grazes his shoulder. He rolls, grabbing his shoulder to check for blood. His hand comes back, covered with his green blood.

He is laying there. Then a shadow comes over. Stelam looks up. The Hirogen smiles at him, and points his weapon at Stelam.

"Be prepared to die, prey." The Hirogen whispers.

Stelam closes his eyes. "If there is any greater being or beings out there, help me now... please?" he mutters. Then blood drips onto his face.

He looks up, and rolls to side, the Hirogen's corpse falling next to him, a hole clearly through it's head. Stelam gets to his knees and sees Jolan kneeling on the other side, the rifle still aimed. Stelam salutes and points his disruptor, firing and killing the Hirogen sneaking up behind Jolan.

He stands up and looks around. The bodies of the initiates are all around. But there is one body that shakes Stelam to the bone. Yah's body parts are flung all around, he having had taken the brunt of the mortar without a shield generator. Stelam walks over, and takes the comm out of his dead, having to struggle with rigor mortis. He calls Gerrard.

    "Gerrard." he says quietly.

    "Yes sir?" he asks.

"I need you to send an away team to pick up Yah's body. Or what's left of it..." he adds emotionlessly.

"Of course sir. I'm... sorry for your loss, sir..." Gerrard replies as Stelam cuts the link.

Jolan walks over. "Sir, we should leave before law enforcement gets here." he says.

"Yes. Let's go." Stelam says. He walks toward the direction of the town.

OOC: Hope your surgery goes well, Prierin.

Stelam walks into town, nearly dead from blood loss. Or so it feels to him. Several passerby look at him, and as he stumbles and falls, many come over to check on him. Then, he hears a muffled call for a doctor as he passes out.

He wakes up in a bed, blinking lights around. He's in the hospital in the Staging Area. He looks around. How did I get here? he thinks, and then everything comes back to him. The attack, the plans running through his head, then Aiel disappearing and the mortar shot. Yah's dead body flung about... the blood of Hirogen on his blade. So many dead, so many needlessy dead. Why!? he thinks, dropping his head into his hands. The Hirogen could have let them go, and they would be alive, Yah would be alive, Aiel would... Aiel... Oh Elements! She was a naive girl and they took her! Why? He starts thinking. Why did these Hirogen want her? For their dead comrade? No, they hate failures, and they said they were being paid. By whom? Who would want Aiel? The person she was spying on! But who would that be? he thinks.

Then he gets out of bed, and puts on his clothes. He has a plan. He walks out of the room

"Come on Jolan, Gerrard. We have some snoopin to do." Stelam says, shrugging on his coat.

Gerrard gets up, handing Stelam his weapons and his bandana. "Of course sir." he says as he follows.

Jolan wakes from his nap. "Uhh, yes, uh, sir. Yes sir! I mean." he gets up and jogs to catch up.

"Where are we going sir?" Gerrard asks as they leave.

"We're going to shake down some info from Aiel's house." Stelam replies, tying his bandana around his head.

OOC: Well, yes. From my post, Stelam will somewhat search for Aiel, though won't find anything at her house. Besides the visor thing, and he probably won't touch that. Then I plan on expanding on the Klingon front.

[OOC]Cool - well, let's have fun with that in the interim! LOL [/OOC]

Her house appears intact, the front door secured with a biomed locking mechanism tuned to her DNA. Attempting to force an entry is tough enough, but to do so in the middle of the day would not possibly go unnoticed. You’ll have to find another way in.

The windows are secured. There is no rear exit. It appears the only way into the house is via the front door. But accessing it will require a sample of Aiel’s DNA. Perhaps blood?

OOC: He's changed clothes and been in a hospital since then! All of it would be gone!

Stelam smiles and uses his sword to clear out the rest, then climbs up and in. He helps Gerrard up and tells Jolan to guard.

"People always think that if they just lock them, nobidy can get in. It's weird!" Stelam exclaims.

"Whatever you say sir." Gerrard replies as they start to look around.

There is little to be found in the way of personal affects throughout the dwelling. Her wardrobe consists of a few civilian clothes. Nothing out of the ordinary. Under the bed is a small case. Upon closer inspection, you find the visor and glove.

"Sir, I have found something." Gerrard says as he opens the case.

"Really? What is..." he trails off as he enters the room. "Well. That looks Solanai, doesn't it?"

"No, I will try. What if it blows your head off? I wouldn't have my First Officer!" Stelam exclaims as he grabs the visor and glove and puts it on.

After Jacob took out the third Hirogen, they got angry enough to ignore the turret and charge him anyway. However, when they got close, the turret sprang to life, spraying plasma energy down onto the Hirogen. Eventually, the Hirogen hid behind some rocks and stopped their attack. "So much for great hunters," Jacob thought, "although they did manage to take my cover shield down quite a bit, and they didn't lose too many men."

When he determined that the hunters wouldn't come to him, and that they were trying to lure him into a trap, Jacob took his weapon and crawled ove closer to the rock. Knowing that there was some sort of trap waiting for him if he went around the rock, he just silently crouched on his side, hiding from the Hirogen. After prepping a grenade, he threw it over the rock, nearly to server as a distraction. He heard the grenade go off, and knew that the Hirogen would be disoriented for a short while. Taking advantage of this, he vaulted himself over the rock, landing on the back of one of the Hirogen, snapping its spine. Jacob then took his plasma pistol and shot the other three before they had time to react.

With this situation handled, Jacob scanned the crater looking for any more Hirogen. As he scanned, he caught sight of several bodies. Running over, he noticed several dead Hirogen and a lot of Romulan blood. Scanning the area, he also detected a faint transporter residue, which was unfortunately too decayed to trace. Recording this data, Jacob returned to the pad and brought the scientist back to the Staging Area. Jacob went back to his house, and filed the report, sending it to Drake. With this done, he headed back to the crater to do some more thorough scans, hoping to spot anything out of the ordinary.

A search of Aiel’s apartment reveals little, but a sample of hair is collected from a brush in the lavatory. Returning to Stelam’s ship for analysis (I am assuming this is what Gerrard would do) Gerarrd is able to extract Aiel’s DNA and get past the first security block.

Aiel stood in an eerily familiar room. She recognized it instantly; her childhood home on Earth. A noise caught her attention and she turned to find her younger self laying on the bed, arms folded behind her head and staring at the ceiling. She’d been crying. Aiel went to speak, to comfort the young girl but no voice came out. A soft knock came to the door. Aiel turned to see her adoptive mother, Elizabeth, lean her head in.

“Aiel, would you come out here, please?” was all she said before turning back to the other room.

Aiel’s younger self slowly rose from the bed and marched out to the main room. Aiel watched, confused, then followed.

“Come over here, Aiel,” Elizabeth patted the seat between she and Marcus. Aiel did as she was told and stared up at the strange man in her home. He was somewhere in his early thirties, the lightest touch of grey just beginning to appear at his temples. His eyes were intense but not threatening, and he gave a brief nod and the slightest of smiles to her as she sat down. He was Romulan, in a military uniform.

Aiel watched as her younger self nestled close to her mother as the Romulan Man’s gaze fixated on her. ’This isn’t right. She thought to herself, ’This isn’t what happened.

“Do you know who I am, young lady?” Said the Man.

“The Boy’s father.” The Girl said, shyly.

“No. I am not. My name is D’van. I used to work with your mother.” He said. Aiel looked up to Elizabeth, confused. “No.” He chuckled, “your birthmother. “ He then added, “I’ve come to take you home. To your people.”

“My home is here.” The Girl whispered, grasping Elizabeth more tightly. “I don’t want to go.”

“Earth is not your home and humans do not make suitable parents for a Romulan. They are weaker than us, slower than us. That boy you fought, he was older and larger than you, yes?” D’van asked. Aiel nodded. “Yet you shattered his jaw in a single blow. Do you know why? Because Romulans, like Vulcans, are genetically evolved to survive in a heavier gravity. Your bones and muscle structure is simply too dense. You’ll never be like them. Any of them.”

D’van stood and smoothed out his tunic. “Come. It’s time to leave.”

Marcus stood. “Now wait a minute. She may be Romulan but she’s our daughter. You can’t just take her!”

“According to the New Romulan Council overseeing the efforts to reunite all Romulan citizens, I can.” D’van stated, “And I am.”

Two armed Romulan guards entered the home. Marcus, realizing the threat, sat back down. D’van then held a hand out to the Girl. “Come. It’s time.”

Aiel gasped as she came to, the surroundings of the medical lab coming into view around her.

“You’re awake,” Said the Doctor carrying a tray with water and a light meal. “Welcome back.”

“You have to let me go. I’m not supposed to be here. You have the wrong person.” Aiel croaked, her throat suddenly dry as a desert.

“We’ve already been over this, Sub Commander. You are supposed to be here. You just don’t realize it yet.” She smiled, “All in good time. Now, do you remember who I am?”

“I’ve never seen you before you kidnapped me.” Aiel responded.

The Doctor sighed. “Do you remember anything from your past at all?”

Aiel turned her head and fell silent. The Doctor sighed again. “I’ll have to prepare another dose then.”

As the Doctor went about her work, Aiel suddenly saw a flash of the Romulan Man’s face. “D’van…”

The Doctor turned. “What did you say?”

    “I remember a man… D’van…”

The Doctor smiled. “Good, you remember something. The rest should come back to you more rapidly now. Tell me, how do you feel, any headaches or nausea?”

“My head hurts. I’m so thirsty.” Aiel uttered.

“That’s to be expected. “ The Doctor responded, “Have some food and water. We’ll resume your treatments after lunch.”

Aiel’s head was swimming. She laid back and closed her eyes. Everything felt so odd… similar and dissimilar at the same time. Vertigo struck her. She felt as though she was falling, tumbling through emptiness.

    She was terrified.

Gerrard scratches his head. Voice was easy. He has a recording of Aiel saying her na,e, and he hopes that's enough. But retinal... that would be tricky...

His mouth twitches as an idea comes. He goes to the holodeck, with the visor and glove and a device with Aiel's DNA on it. He inputs the device to the holodeck.

"Computer, please generate the person that this DNA belongs to." he requests.

"Processing.... Done. Enter when ready." it replies.

Gerrard enters and a simulation of Aiel os standing there, very lifelike except that it isn't moving at all. He puts the cisor on it and plays the recording.

"Aiel L'lwin." the simulation says, in Aiel's voice.

"Aiel L'lwin." the simulation says, in Aiel's voice.

"Aiel L'lwin's mission." Gerrard said, hoping that now that it was open, it didn't need the same voice to command it.

He shakes his head. Time for some computer magic. He walks over to the console and trys to find a recoeding Aiel with her name and 'mission'. It takes a few minutes but he finds it and has the hologram say it.

"Aiel L'lwin's mission." it says, a little choppily.

The device gives a long pause. Just as you come to the conclusion that it’s not responding at all, “Searching databases, subject L’lwyn, Aiel… data found.

Official File: Name: L’lywn, Aiel. Gender: Female. Species: Romulan. Age: 20 Earth standard years. Place of birth: Unknown. Relatives: Parents both deceased. No record of any known relatives, living or dead.

Cadet L’lwyn was raised on Earth by human adoptive parents. She attended Starfleet Academy but failed to graduate due to poor marks and a tendency for insubordinate behaviour. Upon expulsion from the Academy Aiel left for New Romulus.

Expanding search parameters to include “Aiel L’lwyn’s Mission”… warning: this data is restricted. Level obsidian and above. Please enter credentials before proceeding.”

Gerrard has the hologram repeat the name.

    "Aiel L'lwyn." it says.

When Jacob materialized back at the crater, he instantly noticed something was wrong. The place was devoid of all bodies, as if someone had cleared the are out. Jacob knew that it wasn't a citizen of New Romulus, so more Hirogen must be in the area. He quickly drew his weapon, and activated a stealth module he had stripped from one of the dead Hirogen he had found. Walking silently around a corner, Jacob saw four Hunters quietly talking. He sneaked closer, trying to make out what they were saying, when the mines went off. Jacob felt the electricity course through his body, and he heard the loud POP! that marked that all of his electronics had been fried. Slowly, the electricity faded away, and Jacob fell to the ground, barely conscious. As the Hunters ran over to Jacob, he quickly tapped the one EMP hardened device that he had on him, the emergency transport beacon. "Hopefully the Competitor could beam him up before he was searched and the beacon was removed," he thought, passing out.

He came to in a strange room, briefly confused. Remembering what had happened, he quickly sat up. Unfortunately, it appeared that the Competitor couldn't reach him in time, meaning they had left the immediate vicinity of the planet for some reason or another. Even worse was the fact that he was alive, which meant that the Hunters, and therefore the Tal'Shiar, whom Jacob knew they worked for, had discovered that he was more than just a civilian of New Romulus. It also meant that they now had access to his PADD, from which, after they recovered it from the effects of the EMP, they could retrieve classified data, possibly even using brainwashing to get him to comply.

After waiting in his cell for what felt like hours, Jacob finally heard footsteps coming by. Looking through the containment field, he saw two Tal'Shiar agents escorting someone that shocked Jacob to the core... Sheecoyoo was also captured.

OoC: I hope you don't mind that I transferred Jacob to the same base as Aiel. If you do, well, that's what the edit button is for.
