I've been testing the three new queued events and the the new space zone. It's great in my opinion. :)

The Gorn defense plan is... to throw rocks at it.

Ummm, have you played a ground mission vs. Gorn npcs? They throw rocks at you there too, apparently they think this strategy works... :D

Let's just hope the Undine don't have any bamboo lying around and a basic knowledge of chemistry.

Enemy ships, coming through rifts, that I have to close. What an original idea. How did you ever come up with this STO gaming innovation? Man, to be a fly on a wall during that brainstorming session.

I was sort of on board until I read "Communicate! There will be times when you will want one team member or multiple team members to change position."

I think for some that will be interpreted as "Communicate! There will be times when you will have a hissy-fit and want to call everyone a noob no matter what happens or who really did or didn't do what." *sigh* I wonder how many names my Ignore list can hold!

unidine actually attacking out in the open is certainly a change of tactics from internal manipulation without fireing a shot
That's what the Bajor queue will be for.

It sounded great, until the blog mentioned "other players". What a let-down.

What we need is more PVE action like we can find in the Tau Dewa sector. Star Trek Online is NOT a multiplayer game. I avoid all missions that force me to play with other people.

thenI guess you have not played since what? February? and oh no you're on the forums with other players, but I know I know it is not a forced option in game you choose to come and complain here on your on accord maybe you should go here instead, and let the rest of us enjoy the game we love and play.

wait you can actually talk to other players in a que wow that news to me since no EVER talks while in a STF to say "hey don't blow up the generators till the cube/sphere is dead"

The second stf called Viscous Cycle is not great.

It sounds great at first but has the same problem like MI's rift closing task: any attack - AoE included - will cancel your progress. Which in this case: you have to beam down a team of MACO soldiers. While you have to fight with Undine forces - armed some Gravity Well-like stuff.

Devs thinks it will create some demand for tanks - but the execution has the same flaw like MI. Two escorts with megaDPS will be better and faster. However devs have no intention to fix this problem sadly.

That was probably the worst dev blog I've ever read.

"Critics who say that the optimistic utopia Star Trek depicted is now outmoded forget the cultural context that gave birth to it: Star Trek was not a manifestation of optimism when optimism was easy. Star Trek declared a hope for a future that nobody stuck in the present could believe in. For all our struggles today, we haven’t outgrown the need for stories like Star Trek. We need tales of optimism, of heroes, of courage and goodness now as much as we’ve ever needed them."

Although that's funny, I can't stop thinking of this.

    But... I don't complain. A little bit B5 in STO can't hurt.

STO is a MMORPG (Massively MULTIPLAYER Online Role Playing Game), I don't know what rock you have been living under, but the social side of the game is the only reason I still play. I have played all of the same repeating grind fest content in this game for over 4 years now, if it wasn't for the other players this game would be boring.

Now there are still major things missing from this game including Bridge functionality! The most iconic room part of your ship and its worthless.

Cool....But does this mean we will have armed Ferengi NPC ships to assist us in battle? And not just the federation standard ships? Afteral, in Ferenginar the Ferengi would have some ships of their own...

But, ya gotta pay for it. And knowing our luck, it'll probably be just shuttles, the cheap so-and-sos.

Unfortunately I'm going to have to say that the universe would be better off without Ferenginar.

Besideswhich, Trill is lovely this time of year.

Shortest blog ever and sparse on interesting info.

Maybe the person who writes up the fake internal messages (like the recent Romulan one) could come in and prettify this and make it somewhat interesting.

Lesson Learned: Let tactical handle the assault, not engineers.

I too would like answers to two questions that were posted previously.

Are Ferenginar and Gorn being added to the map as actual locations?

By Andor, do you mean Andoria?

To throw rocks that travel faster than bullets, that is. :D

To quote Mass Effect on the utility of kinetic weaponry:

"This, recruits, is a 20-kilo ferrous slug. Feel the weight! Every five seconds, the main gun of an Everest-class Dreadnought accelerates one to 1.3 percent of light speed. It impacts with the force of a 38-kiloton bomb. That is three times the yield of the city buster dropped on Hiroshima back on Earth. That means: Sir Isaac Newton is the deadliest son-of-a-***** in space! "

Mass Effect also mentions that the force attacking a planet is always at the disadvantage, because every missed shot will impact the world below the defenders, causing massive kinetic damage.
So the price of the fight will be devastated in the process of conquering it.

    But then this happened.

Well that depends on whether you want to conquer the planet or destroy it. The fact that the Undine are bringing in planet-killers implies that they are considering destroying the planet after all.

Huh. I am not talking about the Undine. They are using energy beams, not kinetic bombardment, and their intent to destory is very clear.

Just talking about that Mass Effect battle, which should have devasted the already pretty much ****ed up Earth even more. ;)

Well as long as the Gorn are firing AWAY from their planet, they should be fine.

The player with the aid of local forces will need to push through waves of Undine ships in order to close the fluidic rifts that are reinforcing the Planet Killers defenses.

Hmm does this sound slightly familar like the mirror event? Is that a copy and paste job just with Undine ships instead of the empire? a planet instead of a space station? and a planet killer instead of the dreadnaught? Come on Cryptic use some imagination I got sick of the terran empire mission very quickly and may only do this once to see if i'm right but not impressed with anything to do with Season 9 in fact I was more impressed with Season 8 and I wasnt impressed with that either

Actually, if the rocks are launched from the surface of the planet, orbital mechanics would make the rocks that miss their targets fall back and hit the ground.

Nope. It plays totally different. It's more DOTA in space then it is a copy of the Mirror Event.
