A built-in cannon which isn't affected by normal Cannon powers, and is, in itself, a unique power rather than a weapon.

I guess you people are lucky, Koren beamed me back to my Chell Grett and warped away as soon as we arrived at the testing location. I guess she doesn't like me flying the Klingon flagship while I normally fly on a former Dominion vessel.:(

I hope Shon/Jarok won't beam me back into my bugship/Dyson ship for similar reasons.

Oh, and O'Brien, Savel and Kyona would like some credit too. They're not accounted as crew members according to the optional objectives.

    Nice little missions.

Really liked the movie like fly bys, but why not a fly by of the Enterprise F? Seems strange to add it to KDF and RR flagships, but not the Federation flagship. Oversight?

Nice for once to have fully voiced flagship crew members, and not just the first lines or two spoken, like in SoI, keep it that way for the future Cryptic. That goes for any missions with VO.

But some better rewards would of been nice. I almost expected to get that new torpedo, given that we tested it, but I guess the Undine rep will have that, but the torpedo would of have made a most exellent reward IMO.

OK, I found out what was wrong:

There is a "beam to Bortasqu'" option at the transporter in the First City for no apparent reason which skips a portion of the mission making it impossible to get access to the ship. It would have been nice to remove this option to avoid confusion.

So the great explorers of the Federation receive a replica of one of the most famous star ships.

The great warriors of the Empire receive a weapon a warrior would be proud to carry.

The granola munching tree hugging space elves receive a bunny.

    Nice.

Heh no wonder everyone considers the Bortasqu a bad ship, I mean when you waste two boff skills like that, sheesh.

Also, didn't the Rom Flagship used to have a mine net of tractor mines?

Pleasantly surprised to hear a voiceover for all the crewmembers.

However... the KDF version of the mission seems really rushed and poorly thought out...

Why the mission takes place on Ganalda Station? We are to go to Qo'noS where the Bortasqu is supposed to be, yet the mission moves us to Ganalda, which is in Eta Eridani Sector Block. Transwarp much?

Not to mention, once we beam onto the Bortasqu we can clearly see Qo'noS behind the window...

Aside from that, the sound levels of Bortasqu crewmembers are really inbalanced. The same character can have one quiet line, and another quite loud.

Also, the doors on the bridge are bugged in that you can see them open, with the sound effect playing, yet behind them are... another doors.

Not to mention, the Bortasqu has two cannon skills, yet its equipment is all beams and torpedos...

Yeah, rushed/poor KDF content... who would have thought?
Um... The Romulan one isn't much better. :P It has a weird mix of cannons and turrets.

Also, there's a locked door preventing you from entering the Thalaron chamber.... a locked door behind a door that opens... :P

Unfortunately, it says in the very description that that cannon is not affected by such skills.

That bort also has a mk 1 quantum damage console, when it has no quantum torps aboard! xD

Btw, the ent f is mislabelled again. It says "USS ODDYSEY, NCC 1701-F". I like it :)

    EDIT

One last thing, about the lleiset this time (if it was "Lay-set" then it should have 1 L, rather than 2[/snarky Welshman]). Or more accurately, the thalaron pulse. Fully auxed, buffed and with the rom t5 power running it dealt a rather pathetic total of 2k damage on one of the unshielded frigate targets at the start of the mission. Not a great advertisement for a power which was wildly hyped back when the scimitar was about to be released!

The new torp is rather nice with the HY though.
    I need a beer.

I was looking forward to this until I was forced, yet again, to play a ship I'm not spec'd for. I spent more time rearranging the bar than I did on the mission. Every single episode you've thrown at us since last year has been a ham-fisted advertisement for the c-store. Cut it out.

So I looked at the torpedo and realized that it's basically the same torpedo from Voyager when they fought the Undine at the end of Scorpion Part II. Yet, the game doesn't mention ANYTHING about the fact that Voyager came up with the weapon in the first place, like it's a new weapon.

Seriously Cryptic!? You insert a new weapon into the game without giving detailed information about where/how the torpedo the was originally created? They must think people are dumb to not notice that.

And notice they don't even give you much to play with the ship in the first place, mission gets done in less than 2 minutes. Cryptic is so pathetic and obvious when it comes to trying to make a profit.

The only exception was the easy 35 mark package, and surprising reward of choosing between 1,440 Dil or 10 Lobi Crystals. Although if that's only a 1 time thing and not a 24-hour cooldown reward, I'll be angry.

You fly it for about 60 seconds against enemies don't stand a chance. Why are you faffing about re-arranging the power tray when you can just press spacebar a few times and get your 10 Lobi and 35 Marks?

This mission isn't about the token combat. It's a chance to interact with the flagship crew.

Hey, thanks for pointing out I get lobi. Didn't see it in my inventory until you said something.
I don't know what "faffing" means, but I'm not just talking about this mission in particular. I am sick and tired of the "forced to fly another ship than my own because they want to sell ships" mission model that seems to be the new standard. It's manipulation, and it's greedy. It's not content, it's not a celebration, it's a commercial. Plain and simple.

Ship layouts are are a little odd... but that's likely to do with the testing. The Undine enhanced torpedoes are very interesting - assuming these are part of the reputation.

Good parts - Voiceovers, bonus 'surprise' obi for the account, and the nanov baby. Awwwww... What would have been cooler - have the nanov leave a slime trail.

Bad parts: seemed overly rushed together.

The klingon ship was outfitted with cannon boff-skills, but only had arrays. It didn't really matter, the undine were easily dispatched. The first time I ran it I had no set abilities. The second time, I had set abilities.

Oddness - press U and I get my ship, not the test ship.

The romulan Scimi was a nice test-drive of all of the set abilities. Very odd weapons layout, and it was slightly more difficult to use in combat. My first chance to try the scimi bonus set - unimpressed - so glad i got the Falchion only.

Oddness - press U and I get my ship, not the test ship.

The feds of course is the Oddy - but for the first time I noticed you could use ALL THREE special consoles at the same time. - Was that intended?

Pressed U - finally got the right ship.

"Faffing about" is kind of a lighthearted (English slang) way of saying "messing about". :)

I see where you're coming from, but I'm gonna have to disagree a bit here. I quite like the forays into other ships, if even for a short time. It's a good way for people to decide whether that ship is for them and save themselves some money if the answer is "no".

You really torture us with that old Utopia Planitia fleetyards space map again? It is so ugly, and you would have such a beautiful canon-map...

AND: Major bug in the KDF version: After being flung to Ganalda station, I am still in my own vessel, not in the Bortasqu' ... Kinda difficult to use its special weapons now, because my own ship does not have them of course...

    Good ol' Cryptic quality :D

The voiceovers are nicely done at least... (although their volumes vary too much).

EDIT: The problem seems to be, that one gets the option (and instruction) to directly beam to the Bortasqu' from the First City Transporter and NOT going to the Ganalda System first in order to meet up with her... Doing the (ordered) transport directly from the First City breaks the entire mission flow after the dialog phase on the bridge... nicely done :-| Apparently this should have been rolled out to the Redshirt server first :((

Still, it's a nice, fun little mission with some easy fights. Plus, the rewards are cute. Especially the baby nanov.

The bit about getting the wrong ship seems to be alphabetical. The game has been doing that for a long time, when you push U on a regular space map. it gives you either your shuttle, or your ship whichever comes first alphabetically. And it seems to do the same in this mission.

if you were not impressed it is because you did not use it right as the scimi bonus set works better with aux power especially the thaloron pulse the more Aux the better the damage and radiation DoT you get.

As a website developer, I am trained to have an eye for errors in the code, and in every word written in every paragraph.

    On your page: http://community.arcgames.com/en/news/star-trek-online/detail/3040013

    I see a mistake there.

" The First Contact Day, Day of Honor and Republic Day events sre currently running until 10 AM April 7, PDT. From the Mission Journal, Federation players may hail Admiral Quinn, Klingon Players may hail Chancellor J’mpok and Romulan players may hail Admiral Kererek to begin their missions. "

Did you guys see that word misspelled in the first sentence? I put it in Bold Red so you can see it.
