A game that's four years old should have had basic technical issues like server stability resolved long ago. Cryptic should be downright embarassed by how this game malfunctions all the time.

Don't know if you played at the time or on break but if not, you should have seen when PWE first took over Cryptic, my game crashed 2 or more times a day. the files for the game where blatantly corrupted from the source.
That was likely when I was not playing as I cant remember that.
I only started laying again recently, and its about a year since last I played before that.
While not as bad as what you describe, its still bad when they cant keep the servers going for more than 3 days.
I just hope this time they get it fixed properly.
Guys (and girls), take a deep breath and relax. Sit on your hands if you must. Trust me, venting your frustration on the forum and attacking the staff will leave your worse off than what you are now.

Shouldn't a paid Cryptic employee be more sensitive to the trauma inflicted on one of their paid customers? What I am going through right now is comparable to the worst travesties mankind has ever inflicted on another human being. I've been unable to play for over an hour now. This mental trauma will have long-lasting, possibly permanent consequences.

It is true! Secondlife rarely has outages or even issues even close to this. Ever since the CSI episode they have radically evolved their system to end these issues that you are experiencing. These outages aren't very common, although this one comes on the heels of the big one on Friday. I'd say another couple of hours at least, some time tomorrow at worst given that they say it isn't a server hardware issue.
