The Gal-X should not have gotten a Hangar bay to begin with, so thank god they were not stupid enough to add one to the Galaxy-R
Here, here!
That would actually made me quit the game and I don't want that to happen. I want to fly my Galaxy-R resembling the ship I fell in love with in TNG, which was no carrier.
All Fleet Galaxies are flagged to being able to use a Seperation console.
But the fleet Galaxy doesn't come with the console. The only way I can get saucer separation is if I buy the C-Store version for 2000 zen, which is ridiculous.
They're not really gone, as long as we remember them

not really how they make money ppl my god yall want every thing free but dont wont them to make any money doing it ya not all of you are this way but most are
Wow. I've never had my hopes risen and dashed so fast in my life. When I saw that blog with the quote from Yesterday's Enterprise, I seriously thought that maybe. Just maybe they were doing an "alternate universe" Tactical focused Galaxy class, the same way they made the galaxy dreadnought available even though that timeline was never "realized". The fact that they're even looking at them is great, but I had really hoped if they were just making a quick touch up instead of an all out Galaxy 3 pack/full interior/new model etc. that they would have done something to make the ship more of the "modular, equipped for any mission based on load out" kind of jack of all trades the ship was in the show. The touch ups do little to make the exploration refit compelling. It's pointless to be the tank ship in a game where tanking is irrelevant. Such as it is, having a smidge extra hull in exchange for losing tremendous turn is just plain a bad value in a game where players can double their dps with a push of a button. There probably won't be another look back on this ship for years now, if ever.

just to update this ship cost money
I don't want everything for free. I just want saucer separation for my fleet Galaxy.

What I don't see or notice is the console layout. They say stats as the existing dreadnoughts but that differs from dread to dread. The Jem'Hadar dread has a total different console layout as the Scimitar dread (3 different layouts). If it will be having 3 tactical consoles like the original dread, meeeeeh, no thanks.

well that was interesting.. I just finished reading it..
ill star with the positive..
its cool that after everyone waited forever, they finally changed the separation tech for the galaxy. very cool..
set bonuses are always nice..
now the bad..
well, the biggest complaint the galaxy has received, was it is underpowered.. people were hoping for a slight boost in the tactical area. I mean, the galaxy was considered the most powerfull federation starship in the series for the longest time.. and even after the sovereign and defient and Prometheus class, it was still a big boy that very few wanted to mess with.
this game has made it into a sissy fat kid.. sure, it can take a little punishment, but its not dishing it out.. lol.. very disappointing..
further more, the galaxy x is a disappointment for me.. first off, the ship shouldn't be able to saucer sep.. it has the (look at me using the correct term) quantum phaser cannon. (it is refered to as this by almost every other star trek source on the internet, cryptic decided to rename it for kicks I guess lol.. however, it is highly unlikely that a, a galaxy dreadnaught with the cannon can separate, and if it could, im pretty sure it would no longer function till it was put back together..
getting off the nitpicking that doesn't really matter, the "dreadnaught" that destroyed 2 Klingon ships in less than a minute has no kick to it either.. it should have had an upgrade to the tac boff station. instead, the most useless station was made universal.. yay... /sarcasm
on top of that, even with the addition of a console in the fleet version, if it is tac, means its still underpowered for what it is..
it makes no sense, a galaxy class has some of the most powerfull phasers, and the most hardpoints of weapons in the show, and they decide to make it more of a tank, im guessing because of its size..
I just want my Niagra class (which im sure they will TRIBBLE up somehow lol)... it was put on the schedule a half a year before the galaxy issue was put up. so hopefully we are closer to it.. lol..
The layout for the fleet dreadnaught will be announced later.
I garuntee it will be the same as the non fleet version, with 1 xtra console somewhere.. (if they are smart, it will be in tac, but cryptic has never ceased to amaze me lol)... and it will have the 10% added to its stats..
Hell, if it's a question of money, I'll give Cryptic money. Make either a mirror or an alternate timeline "Yesterdays" variant Galaxy with modern design philosophies for 2500 zen and I'll BUY it. Just give us the option.
The blog basically read as "We really wanted to make the Galaxy explorer competitive, so now you can do saucer sep while moving!"
The Blog only tentatively discusses the RA-level Galaxy X. And I would also point out that the changes discussed to the X are FREE. Starting next week every Galaxy X in the game will have the Boff Slot made Universal and will be able to slot Saucer Separation - as well as getting the Set Bonus from the two Consoles and a single Hanger. That is certainly nothing to sneeze at.
Blogs about the Fleet Galaxy X are forthcoming next week - as was stated in the Blog.
STO is about my Liberated Borg Federation Captain with his Breen 1st Officer, Jem'Hadar Tactical Officer, Liberated Borg Engineering Officer, Android Ops Officer, Photonic Science Officer, Gorn Science Officer, and Reman Medical Officer jumping into their Jem'Hadar Carrier and flying off to do missions for the new Romulan Empire. But for some players allowing a T5 Connie to be used breaks the canon in the game.

10th console, as always, will guaranteed not be an extra Tactical one, but either Engineer or Science.
Also, about that 4,000 Zen bundle, what would God want with a Tier 4 starship?
Actually the blog says: "The above ships will become available around 10AM PST next Thursday, March 6th, 2014. More detailed stats for the Fleet Galaxy Dreadnought Cruiser will be posted in a Dev Blog next week"
So just to be clear the blog next week will be only for the Dreadnought as there already is a fleet version of the standard Galaxy.
Sorry, I thought I had put the X behind Galaxy in that paragraph. Me and the Tablet stumbled there. I was talking about the Fleet X Blog would be next week.

Hopefully they'll adjust it to something like Cmdr Eng, LtCmdr Tac, LtCmdr Sci, Lt Eng, 4 boffs like the Vo'quv or Fleet Norgh, make it something truly unique fed side instead of just a reskin of the layout they already have on the Avenger and Regent. Go 4/3/3 on the consoles and its ready to go do anything and everything without stepping on anyone's toes.
So just to be clear the blog next week will be only for the Dreadnought as there already is a fleet version of the standard Galaxy.
You're very right, there is a Fleet Galaxy-R - it's iconic, beautiful and glorious......and now I feel like playing this song in honor of the amazing Galaxy Class!

So in summary, big windfall for those that liked the Galaxy in those two episodes. No such luck for those of us that liked the one in the other 176. It's too bad. The D'D is every bit a better ship than the Galaxy and even it has competition that can do it's job better and more. If Cryptic can't at least bring the Galaxy R up to par with the D'D, it's still going to be very sub par. I applaud that Cryptic devoted a bit of time revisiting flawed ships. I just wish they saw it through all the way so we could finally move on from this topic.

its like asking for the fleet T'varo to use the T'liss skin not going to happen

not this one for once i love the update they are doing to the galaxy x

There will be some, it's inevitable. You'll never be able to please everyone, especially where iconic ships are involved.
But the fleet Galaxy doesn't come with the console. The only way I can get saucer separation is if I buy the C-Store version for 2000 zen, which is ridiculous.

It's great that the Galaxy-X is, but if that's the one being reboot, then it should be called the Galaxy-X reboot.
that and.. come spend your money left and right..
It's just the first dev blog. Maybe there's more changes to come?

I think your best bet there would be a new C-Store ship that shares the frame and costumes.
Maybe a science-y version or a halfway Dreadnought-Exploration cousin with some strengths of both and weaknesses of neither.
Maybe one with saucer sep where you play as the saucer and the star drive is your pet?
