If we ever get these ships, then they will be changed immensely so that they will no longer look the same as the npc ships. So there will be complaints from some of the diehard fans of these ships since some of the features that they like in these ship will be missing.

I support the introduction of these ships as playable.

I like the Typhoon design as it is.

I am not a fan of the current Jupiter design. It is not bad just not appealing to me.

To me the Jupiter always had a Scientific look, but that is just my perspective.

Again, I support these ships being one-day player playable.

Anyways, i don't think a thread like this will force Cryptic release them (though i hope i'm wrong... ;) )

Well they said if they get enough support.....
*looks innocent* who said it was unfair? Epic for sure but unfair?

As someone said in this thread or in another of the myriad others, the Typhoon needs greebles, definition on the nacelles and engineering hull and a better material (perhaps the avengers black material).
The overall shape should not be altered at all, but adding detail and things like a hangar bay is necessary.

i'll support u Feddies for a playable Typhoon and Jupiter class ships... only so i can fight and destroy them in PvP, with me being a KDF player and all ^_^

The Typhoon could be used as a skin to the Sovereign types or Cryptic can make it is own Cruiser while the Jupiter looks likes it can be used as a Full Carrier or a Flight Deck Cruiser, but of course they would have 2 update the models 2 be playable.

    Bolded text is impossible

Look at a size comparison, the Typhoon engineering hull has almost the same volume as the entire Sovereign Class.

It would be nice to see them available to play as.

I'm not so much interested in the Jupiter or full Typhoon as I am the option to use the Nacell style from the Typhoon I would definitely purchase the ship if I could use that style nacell on other ships.

Heck I would purchase a pack that had various hull and nacell options including the Typhoon's without a actual ship.

All you "pure" and "total" Feddie's might not relise it, but there is already a map for the inside of the typhoon. 2nd star to the right and strait on till morning, a kdf mission, you disable and board the USS Dewitt, a typhoon class. All cryptic needs to do is clear up the battle damage on it. Hell, this could be the Feddie scimitar possibly, most likely not, but were dealing with cryptic, who is sitting on a gold mine they refuse to use. It's all there, just a few touch ups and they have 20$-25$ a ship coming from plenty of people, and even some people that see it if they make the layout appealing enough.

I have to say that i am not a big Fan of the Jupiter (mailny because of the bulky design and the Small Nacelles) but i absolutely support a playable Typhoon class. But it would need some design upgrades for the saucer Section compared to the Assault cruisers

Agreed. The typhoon is something I've been wanting to see for quite a while now. It. An come in as is, no fancy consoles, no update to the look, no universal stations. Just a straight up, hardcore, tactical/engie damage dealer that the cruiser pilots have been needing for some time.

Some people say it's OP but the Jem'Hadar Dreadnought has JHAS pets so it'd be similar.

Except the Defiant is a cruiser-level mob. Mirandas and Centaurs would make more sense.

oops, thx for post the size chart of feddie ships (which i don't like pancake ships :O)... always thought the Typhoon class was a upgrade Sovereign due to its Silhouette.

but back to those ships, we know they have 2 update those models first and add outfit skins for them 2 be playable.

like a said b4 the Typhoon no doubt will be in the Cruiser class while the Jupiter will either be a Eng Carrier with 2 hangers or a Dreadnaught Cruiser similar to the Voth Bulwark with 1 hanger.

I would rather stab myself in the eye than fly a Jupiter... The Typhoon has good potential with a nice redesign! I love the nacelles... The Jupiter basically = a FED carrier which everybody wants. I have no affinity for the design, although the way the nacelles are placed is intriguing should the ship receive a massive redesign.

I was not aware of that, thanks for letting me know. But still, it could be used. I think that with that bridge , 4 weps or 5?!?! For and aft 4 or 3, that would make this about 2500 zen, little more than a excelsior. (This is relevant to the disscussion because it deals with the "market" aspect to it.)

Defiants are smaller than Mirandas. Cruiser-level mob? Idk what you are referring to.

What are the JHAS pets then? And they're already in game. The defiant pets could be similar to the Aquarius pet for the Odyssey.

There are five levels of NPCs:

    - Fighters: the little ones you can usually one-shot. Examples: Scorpion, Peregrine, S'Kul
    - Frigates: the weak ships that you usually encounter in groups of threes. Examples: Miranda, Klingon Bird-of-Prey, Jem'Hadar bugship
    - Cruisers: tougher, but still not too hard. Examples: Galor, Sovereign, Mogai, Defiant
    - Battleships: mini-bosses. Examples: Typhoon, Negh'Var, D'deridex
    - Dreadnoughts: boss ships. Examples: Odyssey, Bortasqu', Jupiter, Scimitar

You can tell what level a ship is by looking at the number of "rank pips" that show up when you click on it. Fighters and frigates are 1 pip, cruisers have 2, battleships have 3, and dreadnoughts have 4.

while I personally would not fly either the jupiter or the Typhoon(Love my Sovvy too much) I would very much like to see them in game for players. The jupiter would be an ideal ship to use as a federation carrier design, and the Typhoon certainly looks the part of a heavy support cruiser, while certainly not a speed tank both would be more "war whales".
