It wouldn't be collectible if it were reprinted. The entire point is that it was a one-off, a limited number of copies. That's what makes things collectible.

Collectible and limited edition are different things. All a "collectible" edition is in gaming terms is something that comes with extras compared to the standard edition. Those things depend on the game and can include mounts, pets, titles, devices, etc.

It would still be a collectable if it was sold now.

Personally , I would say no , it would defeat the whole point of it being a collectors / gold edition bonus.
Yes it's been out a while now , and I can see why some would say it has had enough time of exclusivity , respectfully however , I disagree with that .

That would hold a lot more sway if they hadn't already offered a bunch of other "exclusive" stuff from the same edition already.

I really hope they don't. As the only thing left from the early days that at least doesn't make my foolish preordering of the collectors edition worth it, I really hope it stays exclusive.

However, I can see them putting it in the C-Store if they can make even a penny on it.

That's true I suppose , But I still think they should be kept exclusive to the collectors / gold editions

Well I bought the Gold edition back in 2010 so I got the RMC. I always pick it up on every of my toons, but to be honest, I usually use it at low levels. Like when I fight Orion cruisers or battleships with my Miranda. The higher level I have, the less I use the console. It really is not that much of an advatage when you have a good equipment and skills.

Really, with the considerable power creep in this game and the bonuses you can get using certain gear. The RMC is perfect for builds using amp. I have escorts that are just outside the threshold for 75+ in each subsystem. I use the RMC instead of Plasmonic leech and when my RMC is on cooldown I use the dual system batteries.

The RMC is probably one of the most useful "collectors" gear cryptic offered that is still applicable to end game.

It will not be offered due to the problem paramount has with it being used in game since it is more a JJ-verse item.

They probably won't be putting the RMC in the game anytime soon, so no worries.

I dont have any idea, but my breen warship is about 80+ in all subsystems with the exception of the auxiliary that is about 65+. And i dont have the RMC.

RMC is not "needed" anymore, all the power creep out there is really more than enough, too much i would say, you can reach really incredible power levels without almost any importan item on your inventory.

PD - And my breen warship does not even use energy weapons.. it is a torp boat so.. xD. The 85 power output from my weapons is useless but i always forgot to lower it.

    RMC = overrated.

Don't get me wrong, I run it on every ship. And if its tooltip was correct about bringing all disabled subsystems back online I'd say it truly was "all that". Unfortunately, it doesn't bring your systems back online. It doesn't bring back a single one, plus it put's all your other batteries on cooldown. So if you want a little more power, it can be handy. But for someone such as myself with a plasmonic leech, it's really not worth giving up a battery that can bring your weapons system or shields systems back up for a little more power.

Hmmm I use it if my engines or shields are disabled and use if I get targetted for a drain. Of course it puts your batteries on cooldown all it is, is 4 in 1 battery. If your RMC is not working as intended then submit a ticket. I have never had issues with it working as intended.

it shares CD with batteries. I use it with my alpha to get the full 13.5 damage bonus from the AMP core. Using it in conjunction with OWA I have quite the added power on my escorts.

RMC IS found in the Gold Edition. I have bought 2 in the past 2 years (1 for me, 1 for the wife) and both had it included. Hope this helps.

Which code is it on? The slip of paper that has the code for the Uniforms or the code/key on the back of the booklet?

Drowrulesupreme, can you recall what it said when you went to activate the code?

The code says "Star Trek Online - Retail" when I went to activate the code on the back of the booklet. Does not mention/list "Gold". The item I got was listed as Gold and had the T-Shirt/Post Cards and Free Uniforms...

I am using mine primarily to bring my systems back online, and it does it just fine.

It doesnt work against the Tholian disable. It also doesn't work with the Quartermaster DoFf...which neither tooltip explains.

The answer is no. And thats not me speaking, thats Branflakes well over a year ago to me speaking.

Basically, their contracts for these pre-release items keep them from releasing them. At the time, I was specifically asking about the Target TR-118 Rifle.

Here's the full list. Look how many of those items are not obtainable in game anymore. Several you can't even buy the codes online because the codes have expired. The fact the RMC is even obtainable via buying a collector's edition at present is very lucky thing. I would love to have the TR Rifle, the Auto Point Defense Console (its a permanently on and auto targetting PDS console), and the EMH console for my Odyssey (lord knows that ship needs help with dead crewmen when you're trying to heal passively).

Theres even a few on that list that went into the C-Store and then were removed (see: emotes).

This argument at the end of the day is pretty much been solidified. Ships, races, boffs, and pets are going into the C-store. Emotes, consoles, devices and weapons are not.

Note that the only things that have not been available since then reek of Pay to Win if they did go into the C-Store.

just my 2 cents and trying not to come off as a jerkwad, but if you want the CE then pay the 80$. Most games in CE are over 100$. It isn't fair to the others who have purchased the item at the msrp when it was still in print for you to get one of the last remaining copies that is still unopened for cheap.

I have everything listed there except the [Console - Engineering - Radiometric Converter] [Console - Science - EMH] and [Neodymium Deflector Array]

The EMH console sounds great for ships with large crew counts and the Radiometric Converter looks to be great for Cruisers.

The Deflector Array looks to be junk IMO

I wonder if Cryptic would be able to offer the EMH Console in the Zen shop due to it more or less being there special item

I'd love to get my hands on the Radiometric Converter and EMH but if there not already available to us by now I doubt they will ever be :(

Thanks for letting me go wanting :P

I am posting this here since I was not finding any other thread for this issue. And, since my DS9 unifrom set offer was bundled with my RmC promotion offer, I figured it might be alright??

I have entered the code key on the website for the DS9 uniform set but have not been granted the uniform set as yet. Does anyone know if there is a known issue or when I will be able to use the DS9 uniform set that was supposed to be granted with my pomotion??

Necroposting is against forum rules and you risk havng the thread locked by the mods before getting an answer.

If you can't find anything less than 30 days old start a new thread.

Armchair modding should also be against the rules. As this thread was only a couple of months dead and still relevant, I don't think it much matters...

Anyways - UK Customers: Amazon has the Gold Edition in stock! For £10.81 you too can pick up your very own copy today!

While the RMC may no longer be easily available, there's no reason that a new type of rechargeable battery couldn't be included on a new C-Store ship. If there is enough demand for it, they should listen. Open a thread requesting one and see how many people would support it.

There is a reason why a Black Lotus is worth a lot of money -- because it wasn't reprinted in later editions (just appearing in the first three).

Nice Magic the Gathering reference, I'm sure it went over a lot of people's heads.

    Hi all

I've been playing STO a bit again and every time I come back to the game I realize that I'm missing the Red Matter Capacitor because I didn't buy the collectors edition back when it was still readily available. It's really putting me off because I'm a min/maxer at heart and simply can't stand not having access to this module.

Currently the collectors edition is only available from Amazon for insane prices (like $80 or more) which I'm simply not willing to pay for the RMC (since all the other items are worthless to me).

So is there any way to get my hands on the RMC at this point in time?

I'd be willing to pay $10-20 for this item in a heartbeat but for some strange reason PW/Cryptic doesn't seem to want my money?

How about offering an account upgrade from regular edition to collectors edition for $20-30?

    Anything? Anyone?

If there really is no way to get this item (without buying a physical collectors edition for a sick price) then is there at least some kind of alternative available in-game (or on the C-store) that comes close to the RMC?

    Thanks in advance.

    Cheers

that price soundied ridiculous. I paid like $20 or so for mine maybe 2 years ago. I checked amazon myself and the price has increased up to $120. that is crazy.

That wouldn't be particularly fair to those who spent the extra money to get the collector's edition. I don't like the gouging now that it's out of print, but one has to consider the extra cost people paid for it versus the regular edition.

The entire point behind calling something collectible is that it is collectible -- not something that people will be able to get later in some other way.

There is a reason why a Black Lotus is worth a lot of money -- because it wasn't reprinted in later editions (just appearing in the first three).

they already did it. preorder games came with different items depending on where you bought it.

GameStop -- classic USS Enterprise from Star Trek The Original Series.

Best Buy -- Best Buy is offering their customers a fun in-game pet. Federation players own a Tribble Klingons got a Targ,

Amazon Liberated Borg Bridge Officer. This bridge officer, who comes with unique nanotechnology augmentations, assists in missions and gains experience as the player does.

Wal-Mart -- With the Wal-Mart Bonus Skill Points package, receive addition skill points that enable players to improve their characters quickly.

Target -- unique ground weapon TR-116.

STEAM -- STEAM is offering customers Chromodynamic Armor. This armor is based on technology brought back from the Delta Quadrant by U.S.S. Voyager improves the damage and critical hits of energy weapons.

how many of these items are now available in other ways?
