pretty sure destroyer is a catch all for everything thats not a pure escort. including corvettes and warships. i think its likely all those will get their own separate thing.

dreadnought is also an emerging type of ship, though there is yet to be a pure one. as far as i can tell, a pure dreadnought would be a cruiser that happens to have a commander tactical. the galaxy X and Bulwark are dreadnought cruisers, and that causes it to have a cruisers COM station. making it basically a cruiser, with less command auras. other dreadnoughts are ether carriers or warbirds, but nether has a set in stone COM type, so they default to tactical.

unless a rommie is flying it...JHAS with well over 30% crit chance, battle cloak and no power penalty is a scary thought
Like special weapons from other Star Trek games? Wondering if they can be replicated in STO even a little bit? Check this out: https://forum.arcgames.com/startrekonline/discussion/1262277/a-mostly-comprehensive-guide-to-star-trek-videogame-special-weapons-and-their-sto-equivalents

The Jem'hadar Attack Ship needs a 1% chance to randomly initiate self destruct when firing dual heavy cannons. Equipping the Jem'Hadar set triggers "Victory is Life", which increases the chance to 5% and extends the proc to ANY non-projectile weapon. Also 75% chance to initiate ramming speed when within 5km of a Galaxy class starship.

You understand that if you have a build with 4 DHCs and activate CRF you have a 10.8% percent chance of activating that every second for 10s, or a 68.1% Chance of activating it total. Even higher if you use CSV.

If they go ahead with something like this... and it seems they are planing to.

It will be the same for all escorts regardless of subclass.

As USS says they are going to almost 100% do just like they did with cruisers... there will be 4 settings (could be 3 could be 5 but won't be less or more)... and each sub class will get access to different ones.

My guess the Raptors and Fed escorts (Standards launch ones... Raptor / Patrol / Advanced (without the lt sci)... and perhaps the fleet escort and somrow) will likely get all 4.

The Sci class escorts (Lt. Cmd Sci) will likely have 3 skills, with the most sci type special being dropped.

The Engi class escorts (Lt. Cmd Engi) will again likely have 3 with the most "Tank" version being omitted.

I would think having a hanger would also mean one skill would be dropped... so something like the armitage may only get 2 commands... which would be similer to cruisers where the flight decks only have 2 auras.

The other escorts lockbox and lifetime ships steam runners and the what have yous.... who knows. They could do like some of the cruisers and only have 2 specials or something.

Lets just hope they don't get silly and throw all 4 on every lockbox escort.

    I must agree with this.

It will be something along the lines of the aura's as the tech is already in place.

    Cruiser Commands:

Strategic Maneuvering > PB AoE turn boost
Shield Frequency Modulation > PB AoE shield reg and resist boost
Weapon System Efficiency > PB AoE weapon power drain reduction
Attract Fire > Self threat and resist boost, PB AoE threat reduction for allies

    Escort Commands:

[ insert op name here ] > PB AoE +DEF boost
[ insert op name here ] > PB AoE restore weapons offline
[ insert op name here ] > PB AoE weapon +ACC
[ insert op name here ] > Self speed boost +Iner

What I would like to see more of:

There are already two good hints.

    1.) Dynamic Defense Deployment System
    2.) Solanae Sci Destroyer

What this shows is that Cryptic are starting to consider the combination of consoles + abilities. e.g. Firing off the Dynamic Defense Deployment System while Strategic Maneuvering is active has different effects than when you have one of the other commands active, and the Solanae Sci Destroyer abilities change depending on the mode. For me this is a move in the right direction. It is a step towards "different" not "special", something Gego himself once intoned.

Depending on how one uses them, and in which combination they achieve different results. It opens the build to awesome customisation.
