Captains, we really need you stay constructive here :) the crashes are not due to QA, not content, not the servers. We're experiencing a network issue. We'll continue doing out best but we need your support in terms of staying constructive. We're just as frustrated but this and we thank you for sticking with us.

As Smirk said, we'll update you once we have more details to share.

    Cheers,

    Brandon =/\=

the funny thing is, the other games I play very very rarely have problems like this, and they very rarely last this long.. and even more rarely happen more than once in a day..

As I posted a little while ago:

Do you guys know what QA Testing (Quality Assurance Testing) is?

I ask because it is quite clear to me that you DID NOT do any QA Testing before pushing this, or any prior Season Updates, for that matter, out...

As for the problems I am having, in the new mission; as soon as I exit the Sun Station In order to traverse the destroyed corridor, all of the textures change to black, and I can't see anything, much less complete the mission.

I then rebooted the game in an attempt to fix the problem, which I knew was unlikely to work, but figured that it wouldn't hurt to try, and the game no longer loads unless in safe mode...

    As I asked:
Do you guys know what QA Testing (Quality Assurance Testing) is, and if so, why do you not utilize it?

Thats fair mate, but the fact is there are a lot of really bad glaring bugs that seem to get ignored for ages. its a build up honestly, and when these things happen we generally see it is yet another blunder.

Whether its even your fault or not. The bug forums and ticket system are pretty much ignored completely, even tribble testers. Ive seen bugs i reported three months ago with extremely large amounts of proof, still in game all the time.

Thats where the QA stuff comes from mate.

The hamsters are in revolt. And mutated by constant exposure to EM radiation emitted from the ChiCom made servers.

They're luring the devs and techs back into the server room, one by one, to their doom. And eating the evidence.

The Rise of the Planet of the Hamsters. We're really f****d now. :P:D

I'll break out the macaroni, glue, and construction paper. Should have a functional networking infrastructure by morning. (shaped like a kitty, right?)

I remember when Perfect World introduced the Tideborn.. Then they were the game's first new race, and new starter area in ages.. there was a sea of new characters in the new starter area so thick the first night you could've walked on their heads, and the lag was god-awful! When STO has been up tonight it hasn't been nearly so bad, and when it's down? meh.. honestly it all balances out. Sometimes new releases bring crippling lag, sometimes crashes, but just wait a day or two and all will be normal again, it always is!

Today in CEN *Community Epic News*

    Anchorman Billy: Tribble's gon mad!!!

Anchorman Jon: That's right Billy, here Jon with the latest news about Star Trek Online, today, Cryptic Studios launched it's 4th Year Anniversary event, many west coast residents woke up to the alarming news that the launch day had many troubles. We take this to the live field with Keren....

Anchorman Jon: Keren can you tell us about situation.?

Reporter Keren: Well, Jon, it seems that the vast majority of the playerbase is not happy to see the Situation happen again, why do I say again, well Jon it seems like this is the 3rd time the Star Trek Online Servers have gone down in a period of less that 24hrs.

Anchorman Jon: Is there any word from the Developers yet?

Reporter Keren: We've manage to get several words out, according to "Captain Smirk" they need some volunteers to clean up the mess of dead tribbles from the main computer core..
"Now can I get some volunteer ensigns to help me dig out the dead tribbles from our main computer core?"

Reporter Keren: Back to you Jon.

Anchorman Jon: Thank you Keren, We'll stay on this situation and bring you, our loyal watchers, the latest news in this situation.

Anchorman Billy: That's right, we hope to see the servers back up soon, who knows what might happen with a lot of the playerbase wanting to get inside and fly their new Dyson Science Destroyers.

    In other news......

Ive completed it three times, did Q's thingy, sorted my bank out, did a dilithium mining claim, reset my duty officers, even played around with the new gear for a little bit

All in the short time from v2 to v3.

Not everyone has that time. While you were doing that, i had to pick up my son from school.

Okay. I'll take whatever bone you throw me. So, as I am not that 'in the know', can someone who is constructively explain what kind of network issue causes this and/or why? I am sincerely curious and would like to understand these kinds of things.

Here's the thing: we're not constructive now because we're tired of giving you guys more chances. Lots of game studios are closing down. Programmers are coming out of college every year. And the economy is in the tank. I'll bet there are a ton of qualified people who want these jobs; maybe give someone else a crack at this.

Please do not suggest they try to do maintenance on top of the mess they already made! Just roll back to pre patch and start working on a new patch tomorrow!

I get a chuckle every time somebody suggests a role back as if its some trivial thing that wont create plenty of issues of its own. If the game is having this much trouble moving forward how much trouble do you think its gonna be going backwards.

So what if it isn't? I ran through it twice myself. Some of us just had the opportunity and free time. No need to lash out at players for a bad set of circumstances.
