I would rather see them TRY to improve the game and then TRY to fix the botch rather than them just ignoring the game or shutting it down completely.

Not to mention the 4hr patch

Thank you from the bottom of my heart for the reminder of why I shouldn't bother posting and must continue to tell everyone else new to STO or that I talk to to avoid the forums here.

So do you rather want us to praise them for botching something up, every single time a patch is introduced?

No. All I'm saying is that, even though we play a game set in the 25th century, we are dealing with 21st century technology. That means there will be server downtime, errors, bugs, repeated patching and -- perhaps most important to remember -- long stretches of monotony punctuated by moments of hair-pulling frustration.

Voth happens. Learn to live with it.

I pay a subscription, so your point is invalid and if you're F2P you shouldn't even be allowed in the forum since you have no vested interest in the game. Don't mean to sound harsh, but that's just the way it is.

What arrogant BS. This isn't SWTOR where you can't post on the forums or can just play an amputated demo without subscription for that matter. As some others stated, if you spend Zen, regardless of your f2p status, you are a paying customer.

I'm not a subscriber but I bought Zen. Money is money, regardless how you spend it on the game.

    Compensate you? Really?

How about you are compensated by the fact that they keep the servers running for another 24 hours so that you can pretend that you are doing more than simply sitting at a computer and getting bent over pixels and program code....

    Wow, short fuse, dude.
OK, if I have to stay here for a while, your cieling ... looks idious.:D

People need to stop crying about it. Content updates do this. You all know this. Be patient. It will be up by tomorrow probably, then all will be well. And I don't see any need for cryptic to compensate us. I'm a lifer, and I demand nothing. When I want it, I buy it. Cryptic will not give anyone something to give you and unfair advantage over others. Grind it out like everyone else.

Really? it failed to last enough for me to get to the point were I got dumped from from the PREVIOUS server crash.
Cryptic should have an general idea of what's causing it by now, disable whatever TRIBBLE it is and bring the servers back up, if it takes time, then take the damm time and stop treating the servers like a fricking yo-yo already.

that's the worst part of this, how much progress through the mission that was lost, I started tonight around 7pm uk time and expected to clear all 3 of my characters through the first mission and also the q event and due to this I haven't even been able to get my first character through the mission yet and when they do get the servers going I will be thrown all the way back to almost the beginning again.
I will be lucky to finish my first character tonight the way things are going.

When I think about everything we've been through together,

maybe it's not the destination that matters, maybe it's the journey,

and if that journey takes a little longer,

so we can do something we all believe in,

I can't think of any place I'd rather be or any people I'd rather be with.

Well, I guess Cryptic reached a whole new level of fail. The servers are broken for 5 hours and it isn't even a full season launch.

Pretty sure there's no point in waiting anymore today, so good night y'all.

Hi Captains. We've increased our ETA. New ETA is 60 minutes from now. This will help ensure we can resolve the network issue. Thank you.

Well, let me thank you also for your service. Glad you're home safe. :)

You and me both lol ;). Anyways, getting back onto the topic in general. Yes. This is annoying, especially taken into the context that the servers had crashed and been fired back up not 30 minutes before our current stretch of downtime. However, there's really no point in this mindless caterwauling for 'compensations' or 'refunds' and so on. As for why there's no point to that... I suggest you go back and re-read the Terms of Service contract you had to agree to before you could even install the game.

With regards to those talking about how it happens every time, of course it does, that's just the nature of the beast. There's no point in having a massive 'beechfest' or whatever over it because you're not really going to accomplish much other than making yourself out to be a childish prick. Accept reality for what it is, move on, and grow the hell up.
