so romulan characters will get the ship with a singularity core. is there a way for a romulan character to get a M/AM core as well for its cross faction ships?
That's a good question, especially with some people flying them Tal Shiar Ships...

Ah I see. You give away the ugly Fed ship as the freebie version and then sell the good looking ones in the 3 pack.

Seems too heavy on the grind for me though. I still maintain that Cryptic is missing the point of special events. Makes me sad.

Replay the episode to pick up another set and trade it in for the other the variant to obtain the complete ?upgraded? set.

Those EV suits confuse the hell out of me. They look great, but I don't even. And I'm not going to be paying lobi for something I don't even.

Ill be skipping the ship grind once again :)

I was right about the 3pack?

    Are you guys insane?!?!
    A 3 pack...just....wow.

Well, you guys listened. No lobi variant, thank you

And another 4p set...3 consoles and 1 unique...

Shouldve gone nuts and go for an 8p set :P

I'm going to go with excited double take as my reaction

I don't know why, but I should have seen it coming...

So for the Event, you'll have to do a little grind for 15 days to get ONE of the ships, for FREE. As the event will end, you'll be able to BUY a BUNDLE with BETTER VARIANTS for ALL THREE SHIPS

If giving the free base version for the Anniversary Event is just teasing players to buy the C-Store bundle, why not just directly put it as S8.5 goes live ? Or put it live some weeks later.

The way you're doing it, players get it you did NOT designed the Dyson Science Destroyers for the 4 year Anniversary Event to make them happy, but to convince them to buy the bundles...

THREE bundles. THREE. Each variant with 1 BO/Console mod. I'm already counting players who'll buy one (or several) bundle and end up NOT flying the ships.

When marketing goes before players, it's never a good thing.

3 3 Ship Sets one for Rom one for Fed one for Kling

and if not one ships is for Sci, one for Tac and one for Eng Cpts we might get more 3x3 Ship sets later this year.

So instead of getting livetime (and never have to pay as mutch as again for STO)
we now thanks to Free to Play can pay more and more if we want new Ships. And the Game has still now as many content as WOW (i never played it!).

... not very Starfleet like ... or Gene Roddenberry Star Trek like ... more like Ferrengi Hell
18 Cpt on the way to 60: 14 of them are already 50 or over 50, one is 60 and 3 almost 43

The more I read and think about this anniversary event, the more mad I get. This should be a celebration/thank you to those of us players who have supported the game, and your jobs for the last 4 years. Now its turned into another bastardized grindfest. " Look at this, as a thank you for helping me have a job for 4 years, here's something new and shinny that you have to grind by playing mindless un-fun re-used mini game content that most players would rather avoid than play. Switching ships, classes, and load outs, and re-organizing your power try is more engaging that the stupid chase mini-Q.

So, if i read this right......Cryptic are so thankful to the player commuity for yet another year that ........

....they've built this awesome new ship, with many whistles and bells.

And, if you want all the whistles and bells, all you have to do is grind out 15 days on a mini game that is pretty universally disliked, per toon you want to have this ship on, then pay them $50 per faction that you'd like the full ship on.

    Grind and pay.

I find it extremely difficult to believe that nobody in Cryptic, when this idea was being planned, raised their hand and said, "er....but isn't this idea going to be roundly disliked by the players.".

We've been told that our feedback is important, that without us there is no game. This is true. And, it must be said, without Cryptic there's no game either.

Which is to say, I understand that monetarising the game is an important part of its survivial.

    However, there's a time and a place.

And the anniversary event is neither for a cash grab of this magnitude.

It's a four tier set. Comes with a Warp Core too.

    ... unless I'm missing something? I swear that's what I read.

Edit: The Deflector, Shield Array and Engines can be acquired through playing the mission. The Warp/Singularity Core you acquire through purchase of the ship, so it is (eventually) a four piece set.
You didn't seem to have read this part, it seems:
Solanae Overcharged Warp Core and Singularity Core (Pre-equipped on the Dyson Science Destroyers)

That says nothing about purchasing it.

Uhh, no. Tier IV is level 30-39. This is a level 40 ship.

A bit incorrect, as three pieces can be obteined at any time by playing the new FE. It seems only the Warp/Singularity Cores have to be obtained by "grinding" the ship event.

you still need the secondary deflector from the freebie version to complete both 4 part sets.

Currently, Romulans can only obtain a Singularity Core. But we're discussing options.

Sort of. The free version will have a special 4 piece set with the bought version somehow. Though they are not going to tell you what that is now so you could decide if you really wanted it.

The other set bonus you get is the warp core with the rewards from the FE. So technically 2 4 piece sets, but you'll only know one before you start having to grind for the ship. And the one with the warp core is transferable to other ships since you can transfer the warp core.

Sounds good to me. I'll grind it out if for anything else, it shouldn't take a huge amount of time outside of logging in daily.

As far as the FE, say I do it 3 times in level 30 range, when I do hit 50 can I get the upgraded XII consoles through the FE when the event is over or will the FE rewards change after the anniversary event?

adding it to the possible loot of replaying the mission, for romulans only if thats possible, might be the easiest way

For the C-Store versions, can we please have a destroyer variant with a proton dual beam bank and another variant with a proton beam array? The third variant should still come with the default dual heavy cannons.
