    Ok ... I think I'm gonna bow out on this one as it calls for not just a grind but a C-store bundle purchase to get the set bonus.

    I'll stick with my cruisers and escorts.

    There are 2 different set bonuses, and the C-store versions are not required for the first, which comes from the FE and is detailed in the blog. I can't imagine you read the whole blog that fast :P

    Well, I said they'd be Lobi store, but whatever. Called that a while back. And it has a 10th console slot.

    Disappointing. Are there any details as to what Q's Minigames actually are this year?

    Why do the Shield, Engines and Deflector come in Mk X variants? Didn't we do away with that during S8?

    Wait, why the 15 day grind for something we can buy a better version later anyway? That makes no sense.

    So I'll just skip the getting and wait for the c-store version.

    That's why. Because you pay money for the other one. This one just costs you time and effort.

    In addition, how many playthroughs of the FE are we looking at here? I mean, if it's one suit/set item per playthrough then that's a grand total of six playthroughs to get all the rewards.

    This is... somewhat obscene to expect this of the playerbase. Grind, just after another grind, of a REALLY annoying mission if it's like last year's q-games, AND buy a 3-pack?

    Who thought this was a good idea?

    So grind some horrible mini games and then pay $50 to get it all. Yeah, I'm out too.

    Mk X becomes available at Level 40. Only Level 50 captains will earn the Mk XII set as mission rewards.

    Thanks for making a C-Store version of these ships. I like the option to just buy them as an account unlock. More options is more better, as they say.

    So, basically... we're to grind a boring daily for 15 days "on all of our characters" to get an inferior ship, and then spend 50-150$ on upgraded versions that are coming out next month (as I assume there will be three bundles with three ships each...)

    Yeah, Cryptic... I'm sorry, but I'm calling a big fail here. I totally don't mind you monetizing your stuff, but at this point the daily grind is nothing but a pointless busywork...

    Don't go giving them ideas.

    It's mainly because they're not allowed to sell non-factional ships in the store. Lockbox and Event ships tend to be things CBS/PWE said they can't sell outright, so they sell them in Lockboxes or events instead.

    I really hate grinding for 2 weeks for a ship I wouldn't want if I didn't have OCD. I don't even like science ships, but I'm going to be forced to get the ship or go mad as my OCD yells at me.

    Bran, could you tell me. These Qmendations, are they specifically for this anniversary, or are they going to be useful again at a later date? I ask cause (those of us with time) would be able to earn more than the desired amount, and it could be useful to keep hold of them until such a time that they're again useful.

    yea but the mission is special for this event so lvl 10's can do this...

    what Mk will they be for them?

    but im not going to argue much about it since it doesn't stop at Mk Xl and i don't need to trade it in with the Lobi store for the Mk Xll set.. thank god.

    Wtf are u guys playing at this is no gift to players u making us grind then buy from the C-store to get the full set bounes no thank you ill skip it. U guys are taking the p*** with this pwe idear.

    It's up to you, that's why we wanted to be up transparent about it in the blog. If you get both, you'll get a special 4-piece bonus, as mentioned in the blog.

    Can i get it with the 1000 Q Winter Pictures ? OR do we get 2 New Breen Ships next Winter so i can spend my 1000 i still have (i have already 2 Breen Ships)?
    18 Cpt on the way to 60: 14 of them are already 50 or over 50, one is 60 and 3 almost 43

    I for one think this is FANTASTIC!! Making these 10 console ships available in the cstore is a dream come true for me as I just can't do the mini-Qs grind. I would much rather pay $50 any day to have these account wide unlocks. BRAVO.

    My only question is are there going to be 3 _ three packs? As in a 3 pack of 3 fed versions, 3 Romulans versions, and 3 KDF versions?

    Question: How does a 3 pack of seperate faction ships work?

    -Do you have to buy the pack for each faction? (I doubt this, $150?!)
    -All 3 factions can fly all 3 ships? (Also doubtful)
    -Or can the 'wrong' faction for each ship just claim the console seperately, since you mention equipping all 3?

    To be honest, just based on the look I'm not likely to get it anyway. Unless the cstore variants looks significantly better. Plus I'm happy with my current ship.

    More like reason for the grind is to get people to log in. But having these ships available later kind of defeats the point of that IMO since that just makes more people likely to skip it. So I'm just curious why there's a grind.

    This event has nothing to do with the Winter Event, mechanically speaking. The commodity items you earn from each are completely separate and not interchangeable.

    Yes, I know. I was more leaning towards the fact that in the Dyson Rep, particular emphasis was put on removing unneccesary Mk X and XI level gear and only focusing on the Mk XII gear.

    While I agree that the rep and the anniversary aren't totally the same, it did strike me as odd that you previously went out of your way to drop Mk X/XI gear only to bring it back here.

    So the anniversary event is a big grind with added price tag on everything involved to unlock the "full" version? :rolleyes:

    im gonna get the grind version first, 1 per faction anyways. i suspect the 3 z-store upgraded anni ships with be in a bundle at 5000z in which case there is no chance i will get these.

    if there is a fleet version of these ships down the line bran, would i need the z-store version or can both variants be used to get the fleet version?

    Been around since Dec 2010 on STO and bought LTS in Apr 2013 for STO.

    Being transparent about a decision made specifically to coerce players to not only grind content they don't want to grind, but also to spend money on top of it to get optimal results doesn't in any way make the decision any less terrible.

    Bottom line Bran: this anniversary event is not going to be perceived as a thank you to the fans. It's going to be perceived as the most blatant grab for their wallets that Cryptic and PWE have done to date.
