The unlock is NOT behaving as an account wide unlock. It is behaving like a per character unlock. A number of my fleet mates have also seen this behaviour.
I will say I was against arc but most of what has happened has either A. Been cleared up due to it looking like it was something that it wasn't and B. Originally it was using a lot of start up resources which doing analysis on what its doing now the Arc team has reduced the start up requirements of it by 75%. The new costume is just an added bonus. What would be cool and something I would be interested in and would fit the agenda is long time users of Arc maybe in the future could get access to a Human or Klingon augment character. I'm hesitant about making new characters with reps but I think this would make a fine incentive to avoid the to the install, get costume, uninstall (For those of us who have actually been testing it out )
Logged in, got the email, went to the tailor, no Khan outfit. Any ideas??
Go to the tailor, it is an off duty costume, select head then in the upper right select off duty, then you can apply the costume. If you don't have a free costume slot then you will have to modify an existing one.
Let the implications of that sink in. There is a mechanism in the game that checks to see if you are logged in using Arc in order to use a certain item.
Well for those of us who were around when the Cryptic/PWE accounts were merged we know whats coming. For those that weren't heres the heads up.
This is what happened back then.
first we had the option of merging our accounts and we were told it wont be mandatory, Just like ARC
After they realized that very few people were merging the accounts they started to bribe people to merge them by giving out a few goodies.
I was there. This is inaccurate in two particulars.
1) It was announced at the time that eventually, it would be necessary to merge your Cryptic account with a PWE account. It was not mandatory at the time, but one day it would be. And sure enough, one day it was!
2) It has been announced that one day, the standalone launcher will cease functioning. On that day, you will need to launch either through Arc or Steam. (For a time, someone at PWE wanted to make it Arc only; however, that apparently upset not only users, but the folks at Valve, so they relented on the Steam thing.) That day has not yet come, but eventually it will.
Nobody ever said it would not be mandatory to merge accounts. They just said it wasn't mandatory then. And nobody ever said either Arc or Steam would not be mandatory eventually. They just aren't mandatory yet.
Please, I think it's easy enough to find actual business practices you can object to - there's really no need to make any up.
I have my STO files installed on a flashdrive, and I installed ARC onto it as well (my computer has a problem with saving files locally for some reason).
For some reason, my STO files that were installed on that flashdrive were not picked up by ARC, so now I have to download the update that is over 8000mb... again...
You do realise that if you have STO installed already that all you need to do is install the new beta arc client, log in, select character and wham you have access to the uniform right?
What you do once you have the uniform, well that I should think is up to you. :cool:
But how many people like me installed it to get the Khan reward then uninstalled it as its so useless?
That's players choice. I have never had any issues using ARC. Been using it since it was first launched 31st May 2013. STO has alway run fine, it has not caused any issues regarding bandwidth for me. I can appreciate why others do not like it, but I will never be ARC is great ARC is fantastic to them. If Arc ever became an issue then yeah I will get rid of it, but to date I have not had any reason to not dislike it.

Just logged out of arc then back into sto on a character I didn't unlock Khan's uniform on. It may be account wide, but only while you are logged into ARC.
Yeaaaaah...I found that out...Its weird that they wouldn't just make it actually account wide instead of logging into every single character...maybe that is a mistake?
And for those who are wondering, the hood is actually a head catagory (switch from humanoid or whatever is used to access it).

We're investigating the Arc website outage. It's definitely due to Khan's augments upset about us giving away their costumes... KHAAAAAAN!
Log back out and back in via Arc when you can -- the promo wasn't pushed live until I posted about it, so if you were in-game, you wouldn't have got the message.

It shows up like this for all my characters. Not sure whats up since I can view other characters wearing it fine.

Not having the graphics issue as in your image. I can say though the hood and visor is not there.
