I realize we received free items in sto and on a lot of other games for down loading arc. I know it is in beta. in the future can we expect to receive freebies from the arc like we do from sto developers?
How are we supposed to know what they will do in the future?
Ask them.
They gave out the Khan stuff because of the negative feedback from the players. Everyone complained either about ARC being a resource killer or spyware.
And now there is a free uniform set for everyone, suddenly a lot are willing to use ARC, if only for the costume.
I assume one can uninstall afterwards once claiming the items, if it isn't mandatory yet right? And does it completely uninstall, no leftover traces invading memory?
So, just completed the runthrough on all my toons. My Orion is now wearing the Khan outfit - in bright yellow-green.
And now, goodbye again, Arc. Hello again, Steam.
I have a feeling this is the beginning of more "in arc" related rewards... like maybe a "bonus mark event while playing in arc" or "Double XP weekend while playing through Arc" other things similar to that. We see now that Arc is capable of manipulating the in game content of STO for rewards hmmm lots of possibilities... All to encourage our use of arc while playing STO.

It's a nice looking costume. Shame it's wasted in the off-duty choices for KDF, those boots and pants would have fit in really well and KDF is already starving for costume choices as it is.

its spyware so probably not.. they know this, which is why unlike tribble test weekends where you have to put in a certain amount of time, this you can literally dl, and uninstall right after you claim it.. (just long enouph for it to get whatever info they are looking for on your comp..)

the fact that it even works on kdf full-stop was probably an accident.
How about checking all the Arc feedback you requested before making another thread and a ridiculous one at that?
I'm sure you got a few hardcore Star Trek fans to install this bloatware joke just cause they very much would like that Khan outfit, but it's a dirty way to do it.
Many of the STO players doesn't have the hardware to play with Arc installed (as you know if you read feedback given). This made me loose the little bit of respect I still had for PWE, shame on you!

Works for me - I don't really care about marks, and it's not like XP is hard to come by just running the game normally (I generally hit 50 sometime around the out-of-time Dominion fleet seizing DS9).

Arc is not spyware. It is the same type of software as Steam. Spyware are programs that are installed without your knowledge to acquire certain information that you don't want to release. Since you personally installed Arc and it only deals with data related to PWE, then it can't be spyware. People don't consider Steam spyware even though it tracks purchases, achievements, and some other statistics. Now if Arc started to track your browser history and online purchases and had absolutely nothing to do with PWE, then it would be considered spyware.
What it is is bloatware. Who wants some unnecessary program running in the background when you are running a pc game? It will make your game run slower. NO THANK YOU.

Only thing I got a problem with is that it's not an account wide unlock when BranFlakes states it should be multiple times and then apologizes as well in an earlier page.
Sure, there's bugs with the system. But that's everything. This program also isn't malware or spyware or bloatware. People come up with such grand ideas of things. All it is is hysteria, and people love to make people hysteric.
I honestly have NO problems running ARC, Steam, STO as well as multiple games and ones such as Planetside 2 (which is a resource hog) all at once. I tested this earlier. It ran actually pretty good with all these programs running. But this is my system, not anyone else's.
Your mileage may vary depending on how your system is set up with a CPU, RAM, GPU, HDD and the like. Most people buy a laptop and think, oh I can play great big graphically intense games! But they can't. They also buy desktops for a lot of money and think, because they paid so much for it, it must be able to play these games. Majority of the time, they cannot. Simple fact, if you don't know what's in your PC, you're gonna have a bad time.
Well, the Khan outfit is outstanding. I also love the Botany Bay torn shirt, just love it! Also love the hair too!

seeing what they did for the khan outfit i say 90% sure you will see more but dont take my word to the bank also keep in mind i am talking about only sto as for other cryptic PWE i can not say at all as i do not plan to play them
Possible bug report: Vulcan and Andorian males get the new hair, but Vulcan and Andorian females do not, nor do Bajoran females (do not have a Bajoran male character or doff on whom to check, but assume it follows the trend). All other hair-having species/sex combinations seem fine, except Klingons, whom I didn't expect to have the new hairs anyway due to their head shapes.
edit: Also Arc is terrible and you should abandon the idea entirely because every company does not need its own half-baked Steam knockoff. Most EA users would probably prefer to go without Origin. Almost all Ubisoft users would probably prefer to go without... whatever the heck theirs is called. Uplay? Is that it? This is as bad as Uplay.
I'd put in the word thanks too , but I don't think there are enough quotation marks on the internet to cover my true meaning on this steaming pile of dren .

But that is already good enough for PWE.

Kinda like you had to log each character in to get the Horta.

How sad .
Unfortunately, ARC puts in the wrong username for the game.
Awesome.
