Might be the goal, but will it be the actual outcome? I can't count the times i've had to place, re-place and place again, the abilities in my power trays. Not to mention, the amount of times abilities get placed in the tray without me even asking for it (map change comes to mind). With this new system, I sincerely hope you finally nip this longstanding bug.
pwebranflakes: I made several posts in this thread yesterday -- some of the events are granting their bonuses, and others are not based off your reports. The team is investigating those that do not. A fix will require a patch, and I'm not sure if we'll be patching Holodeck before the event ends, unfortunately. Hopefully we'll be able to run the event again in the not-too-distant future
Cheers,
Brandon =/\=
That was your last post in the thread. The thread ran to 366 posts with more reports of the event not working, petty arguing, etc., before it was closed due to the event ending and there never was a patch to fix it before it ended. You guys never mentioned the event again as far as I can recall.
Tell that to the ship collectors who're maxed out. :P
They don't "have to" do that, either - they choose to. Just as someone might, say, choose to purchase the Avenger or Mogh from the C-Store - it's not necessary in order to play the game, some just find it desirable.
Me, I've got some antiquated ships in the roster that I have no problem with dismissing. (What the frak does my Admiral want with his old Miranda, anyway? And while General Malthit may have fond memories of taking his old B'rel into battle against the House of Torg, that House no longer exists.)

I hope this time it will be working properly.

this whole saved setups for ship is not possible. not wile station powers are connected to boffs, and you need to go get retrained every time you change your setup or ship. in pve, i favor torp spread. i need a torp equipped and TS on my boff. for pvp, id run beam overload and a DBB. sure, the preset can swap the weapon i have equipped easily enough, but will it retrain my boff as well?
until station powers are removed from boffs, and just something selectable with none of this stupid drama were you have to get skills trained by other captains, or track them down on boffs on the exchange, theres an inability for ship presets to actually serve a functional purpose.
I'm glad the "hourly" events are being replaced... my main reason for not doing them is that it's never convenient for me to do them when I want to do them.
On the other hand, I don't believe taking out Things-To-Do altogether is a good idea, so I hope that most of this will continue to exist in one form or the other.
I like doing Tour The Universe when I can get it. This would be a great Daily, which is effectively what it became with the cooldowns anyway. I will not be happy if they take out this source of EC.
Some of the other events would make good Dailies, like the Academy and Road to 2409 events. Crafting too, if it was relevant anymore. Guess we'll have to wait for that revamp...
I hate to say it, but the Officer Reports event is almost unnecessary. I wouldn't miss it, honestly. The current Foundry rewards system is enough for me.
I think Marks bonus should be both a Daily AND a weekend-long event. In fact, I'll go so far as to say that EVERY weekend ought to be a Marks bonus weekend, in addition to anything else going on. Prolly won't happen, but that's what it should be.

Participating in the usual fun and games with Q will let you earn a cool new starship (or three!). Federation, Romulan Republic, and Klingon Defense Force scientists have been hard at work adapting Dyson technology to their standard ship designs, and you can be among the first to try out these new hybrid starships
If the Romulan version is a science ship that doesn't break the mirrors it looks into, I may be inclined to name my firstborn after you.
You're just a machine. And machines can be broken.
That's quite the paradox, how could you nerf nerf when the nerf is nerfed. But how would the nerf be nerfed when the nerf is nerfed? This allows the nerf not to be nerfed since the nerf is nerfed? But if the nerf isn't nerfed, it could still nerf nerfs. But as soon as the nerf is nerfed, the nerf power is lost. So paradoxally it the nerf nerf lost its nerf, while it's still nerfed, which cannot be because the nerf was unable to nerf.
What would be cool is if crafting got revamped as a way to get access to Fleet Items at a higher cost than directly through the Starbase as well as creating items that help to level up starbases quicker.
If you feel Keel'el's effect is well designed, please, for your own safety, be very careful around shallow pools of water.

Or, you could go out and do what they're hoping you do and buy more BOFF slots and train up BOFFs specific to each build.
Can we PLEASE advance the timeline now? Seriously, everything, all of this stuff, it's all happened in 2409. That's a lot of things to have happened in one year.
It wouldn't be hard. 2409 can include the tutorial and first third of the current missions. 2410 includes the middle (or rest) of missions and optional 2411 includes all the current content. Not hard at all to advance the timeline and keep it uniformed for people. Depending where you are in the in-game missions depends on where you are in-game.
I like what ive seen so far from our new EP. I hope it does continue. I think this game really needs to get polished up (massive bug polishing). So I hope he is up for the task in getting that done, but as well moving forward with the game with new improvements and features.

I hope you got it working this time.
June 2013 we had a bonus mark weekend event that seemed to not work at all at least for some of us.

As for everything else ...............whooooooo hooooooooo
That's all fine and dandy but what needs to happen is an update to the old rep systems to bring them in line with Voth rep.
It's pretty much this hard to keep just one timeline intact. ♪

OK. Tribble server is being used for the new season 8.5 stuff. The January 10 patch notes http://sto-forum.perfectworld.com/showthread.php?t=979871 says: Dun dun dun....
If the Romulan version is a science ship that doesn't break the mirrors it looks into, I may be inclined to name my firstborn after you.
Imo they should just leave it up all the time. Maby take the dilithum reward away from it.
It would be another fun one to solo like starbase 24 is.
I love you, BranFlakes! MARRY ME!!!!!
This just begs for revamped Galaxy, Negh'var and D'deridex classes...
Well like others I do not have Boff tray powers nothing, When I press U where everything relating to Boffs should be it is blank
Concerning the foundry; will this patch cause the missions to be republished again, like with the usual big updates?
I call it, the Stoutes paradox.
Some things never change.
Im placing my bet on La Forge! But you dont have to take my word for it.
Capt. Will Conquest of the U.S.S. Crusader

The new ships, pretty much everything else stated sounds like good stuff, but that event system change's explanation is reeking something fierce.

Could you make another FE at the cost of a Trek Voice Actor ?
I'm asking because I'd like to get more story (more FE's) and less 'fluff' .
I call it, the Stoutes paradox.
