Guess that means the devs have written off the KDF altogether, and there will be no more KDF updates or bugfixes.
Funny thing is that the way things have worked for a long time that they could have never said anything and we would have never known. That's how far communication break down has occurred since they became tight lipped.
I had a feeling this was going to happen soon. We haven't heard from Dan for so long and all the recent interviews/releases were from Al or another dev.
Still, looking forward for what you have in store for STO.

He said he is working on something secret not in something secret STO related.
He's "gone" from STO, if that's what you mean, but he's here at Cryptic working on a top secret new project; it's pretty exciting.
And no, what you're guessing is completely inaccurate and you know it

No offense meant Brandon, but wouldn't it be better to spend time fixing your current 3 projects (CO, STO and NW) rather than adding a 4th project, further diluting the workforce, and making all existing projects suffer?
Further, if this "top secret project" is a 4th game, it better be built on a NEW game engine. CO, STO and NW all share the same engine, and they all have similar issues that need fixing. But as we all know, those issues never get fixed. Rather, the "next big bucks" seems to be higher priority.
CO is already on a "maintenance mode" level of development. I assume STO isn't far behind.
Yeah, but that 'Top Secret' has been around for ages, so I don't know if they're talking about that 'Top Secret Project' or they have a new secret project.
maybe hes going to work on star trek 2309 online! were you can have your tier 5 conies, excelsior and mirandas! so they can all be rightful removed from a game taking place in 2409

Would that new secret project be Star Trek Online 2.0? With massive open galaxy exploration, random New worlds, with New species popping up? With galactic territorial control? Piloting your ship from the bridge?
I'm pretty sure the top secret thing must happen to do with what Jack Emmert or however his name is spelled in last communication about opening a Cryptic North office for CO.
Good luck, Mr. D'Angelo! Glad to have you on board!
My personal hints for keeping the playerbase happy: Do not under any circumstances even HINT at a future lib borg faction. Stay geeky. Keep Klingon content and gear up to par, and don't be afraid to give the Empire some extra teeth. Stay geeky. Put lots of references to canon in. Don't nerf things overmuch. Stay geeky. Keep your promises to the player base. Stay geeky. Have fun. Stay geeky.
If you do that, I for one promise to be content. Especially that "Stay geeky" part; that's important. One of the reasons I play this game is that it's run by geeks, for geeks. This is a good thing.
Congrats to DStahl, hope the new project is worth it!
Just commit to any ideas and round them out fully. No more half baked bajors and Nukaras. If you're gonna take time and resources to make a release, make it timeless, not something that only has to last until next season.

That conclusion seems rather...random....

The KDF isn't going to be written off. As long as there are people who rally together to ask for stuff, the devs will listen.

The Devs making STO, or any other Cryptic game, do not work on Arc.

So, Dan is working on a new thing that is yet to be revealed and not transfered to one of the current titles at Cryptic?
Great to know, I hope we can see more love for the KDF

If you go to the Cryptic website they list a secret project. I'm assuming thats' what DStahl is doing now.

I think you misunderstood me. I addressing D'Angelo and not Dan.

He was the guy in charge of the technology dept or whatever thats what they said 2 years ago when he was EP when Stahl supposably left back in 2011.
