It would be great if you could get some of the Voyager cast to do VO work -- Kate Mulgrew, Jeri Ryan, Robert Picardo...especially if you're working on some Delta-quadrant-based story content.

Adding my vote into the chorus calling for some Jeffery Combs. He was brilliant in TSW and I'd love to have him return to Trek with STO.

Make no mistake, if PvP receives any attention, it will be to add grind and microtransactions.

I would be okay with this along side a full revamp of it. Any addition to the game is going to come with this anyhow. PvP needs some love... there is already all types of content in the game that could be modified to accommodate PvP the Battlezone being the newest of them.

I would like to see Garak VO with a Cardassian faction release or Seven of Nine in the Delta Quadrant doing something else.

As far as the picture goes, it seems to be some kind of lab monitoring a sun. A ball of fire is seen outside the main viewport and a hologram of it is in the center of the lab. The tech appears to be a hybridization, some of the Iconian/Solanae tech seen in the sphere (most prominent in the ceiling and floor spires above and below the hologram) and some other race that has insect-inspired technology (prominent around the hologram itself) .

Bottom line: No clue. The Dyson Sphere's star? If so, you wouldn't even need to leave the sphere let alone go outside of it and into the Delta Quadrant proper.

An oft an over looked actor that is also quite brilliant . Q , John Delancie I believe is the actor's name. He's been good in all the various roles in and out of trek. With the focus on the delta quaderant, riddle me this, trek lore fans .

Was it not Q who first introduced the Enterprise to the Borg in the Delta Quaderant ?

Why not bring Q in again to introduce a new element to the solanee Sphere. Expand on the dyson sphere . An have Q introduce the captains to a new threat ?. You could go about exploring more of the Delta Quaderant without involving the voyager crew.

Hehe And you could for all the Kirk lovers, Use Q to bring Captain Kirk into the current year in Sto , an have him brief the captains with a unique Tactical Strategy for over coming this new introduced threat . Be it Iconians or whatever .Let Q be Q . You have lots of possiblites open to the development team.

An as previous posters have mentioned , the gamma quadarent is hardly explored or touched upon. And with the way DS9 ended. You could expand upon the prophets story line with the bajorian worm hole. An have Avery Brooks Reprise the role of Captain Sisko . Have Sisko return to the material plane . an be that true Emissary role between prophets an humanity ( Bajorans ) .An with any Gamma Quaderant expansion you also have the Jeffory combs option as he was bloody brill for an adversary in DS9 .

A cardassian exploration towards giving them more of a role in sto would also be a fun thing to do. They do need more attention.

A borg sub faction like the romulans have ? I'm not so sure about that. The LTS's would scream . I would like to see a better resolution to the Borg / Undine war. The whole Undine series of missions ended with a anti climatic ending that leaves you feeling under whelmed . Alot of loose ends in the current storylines imo which deserve some resolutions to . Yes I realize that Sto is a MMO , but sometimes it's nice seeing some things have a definitive ending.

And Please , Please expand the KDF side of the game, more clothing options especially for the female characters. Please expand a few more ship options or at least give the current available ships a balance pass to bring them up to par with all the power creep . The KDF does need more love an more options

As Previous posters have pointed out several fantastic optiosn for Voice over work . I will not go further , the previous posters have done a fab job expressing some great choices.

I've enjoyed Sto quite alot , props to the dev's for an excellent year. An props to hear the state of the game is very healthy and alive.

    Cheers .

P.S. sorry for the long post , had alot of thoughts an wanted to express them . :-)
And thank you Dev's for taking the time to read any posts from the Thread .

As much as I would like to see characters from the TV series reappear in STO, their appearance doesn't really fit the with the story. I would prefer to have new characters and new people who do the voice overs. If some of the lesser actors from the series were to jump on board with STO as new characters, I think that would be great. I like the gal who did the voice for Lariss. We could use more KDF female voices.

Again, I suggest new voices and new--DEVELOPED--characters. And by "DEVELOPED", I mean Trek quality characters like those mentioned before.

Also, it would be nice to get voices for the crew of the Enterprise-F and the Bortasqu'.

Characters that I would like to see again: Silik, Demora Sulu, Isabella, and of course Weyoun.

Yes, I know that 2 of those are 1-shot characters, and that two of them would probably need time travel. We don't really know anything about what rate Isabella's race ages. As an energy based life form she might have a longevity in millennia.

    Hm, that artwork is interesting.
Is that Borg tech combined with the Solanae tech? Or Voth tech? Or something entirely different?

Although I would prefer a Featured Episode set between SoI and S8.

Agreed. There's too much missing story in between the two.
You do know that SoI and S8 are the same thing, right?

They aren't. SoI is a Feature Episode that was released before S8. It was supposed to bridge the gap between the existing story line and S8, but didn't really do that at all.

Technically, no, they aren't. SoI went live almost two weeks before S8 did.

Kate Mulgrew as Janeway tops my VO wish list. Tim Russ as Tuvok, and LeVar Burton as LaForge are my next two choices.

As for future content, I've always wanted to see the Xindi featured in a season or expansion (following up on the third season of Enterprise).

Please do not make the mistake of introducing another "mini/pseudo-faction"... I already see the shadow of a playbale Hugh-like liberated Borg-faction looming over STO. Players flying a Cube or even a Tactical Cube? As big as player ships have gotten (Scimitar, Obelisk etc.), THIS would be the threshold to ridiculousness :-|

What STO really needs is more consolidation, even tho "Revamped Crafting/PvP/Exploration" doesn't sound as shiny as "Playbale Borg Cubes with big fat laser-mini-guns and free beer". I know you guys need to keep the game profitable...

As for new VOs: KDF has Michael Dorn, Romulans have Denise Crosby... Now the Feds need "their" celebrity. Replace T'Nae or Adm. Quinn with Adm. Riker, Adm. Data or Adm. Janeway (voiced by Frakes, Spiner and Mulgrew, respectively).

    just for a note...
Data and the Enterprise-E are Still missing...(just a hint for cryptic...;) )

would be nice to see Riker and Admiral janeway in the game...
    and...
Would be nice to have some holefilling about the what the hell happen on the history arc of the undine right after we found the iconian tech in the fluidic space we kinda just jumped all the way to new romulus for no apparent reason (yes i paid attention to the missions!!!!)
    and for the finish line...
would be nice to have after all the delta quadrant plot to see something regarding DS9 AND the gamma quadrant (DS9 could be an staging area for a plot mainly on the gamma quadrant) and what about andromeda? (is a hint on sphere of influence? (yes i picked ALL the consoles and i wont spoiler that:cool:)
    and finally...
WHEN WE WILL HAVE TRILLUM, BETAZED, TELAR AND maybe(really maybe)FERENGINAR PLEASE FILL THAT HOLE ON THE SIRIUS/BETA URSAE BLOCKS!!!

As perhaps is to be expected from a corporate release, there is no mention of the downsides suffered during this year.

Each release has been plagued by bugs, culminating in a significant number of players being unable to enter the game for what comes to a full month of this last year. It would be nice to think that the powers that be recognised this as a problem and were looking to improve things in future releases, but it seems in fact that they are unwilling to admit that it actually happened.

Season 8 is, gameplay-wise, amazing. However, I?m not the only one who was hoping after the excellent Sphere of Influence that more Featured Episodes would follow to build the exciting story. Instead, Season 8 features virtually no story progression at all, making one wonder if in fact it was released unfinished.

Also, there is a small matter of story progression building up; if a player had only played a Federation or Klingon character, on hitting the latter part of Sphere of Influence, they are going to be thinking, ?Elachi? Those guys I once fought one of during the final chapter of Wasteland?? They simply don?t appear outside the Romulan plotline, meaning that players are liable to be lost as to their identity and significance.

This letter is not wrong; some impressive work has been done this year - the voice acting additions are great and the latest story work has been miles above older content. (In fact, it?s good enough that playing through the older content is actually painful in comparison.) Still, it would be nice if the powers that be would accept and learn from their failings as well.

My big wish for the game, is a complete VO workover, for every last NPC that matters in the game. Course that's unlikely, but the hope of a game that feels more alive, would be a big help. That and a 'Season' that works over all the old content to make it all streamlined. I really think that this, along with stable future releases, will make the next few years, something to be awed at.

One more wish tidbit I'd really like to 'feel' into this game, is the 'spirit' of Star Trek, that Gene Roddenberry inspired into Star Trek, really get into this game, and away from all the... well... gambling commercialism that feels 'too' much a part of the game. The quantifier that is hard to put into words, but at times, even if it feels cheesy at times, was a reason Star Trek 'is' what it always has been. That... is my one big wish, for STO as a whole. That 'something' that people then see, that this game IS truly inline, with the franchise, as a whole, and not just a mere game title that is a broken spin off, from the same.

Saying all this, this 'has' been a good year overall for STO, and congratulate the STO team for all their work this past year.

Around the release period of the 2800 FE series, it was confirmed that the E had returned to Earth and was decommissioned. Data also chose to retire and became a teacher at Oxford, rather than Cambridge from "All Good Things" if I remember correctly.

A piece of fiction was written about this in the Star Trek Magazine.

Go stand in a corner and listen to his voice work for those godawful Bethesda games.

I like the Shat and all, but he doesn't seem to have the same enthusiasm for working in games.

I think he really has enthusiasm for two things: comedy and playing Captain Kirk again. Either way, he's going to push for money and pretty much direct himself. But if the money is there for Shatner, it's a one time thing (ie. one session or so like Dorn; not one line), and it's handled big, I can think of nothing potentially bigger for the game.

Alternatively, I'd like characters in pairs. Tuvok and Neelix. Riker and Troi. Quark and Odo.

One person acting alone in a booth can sound "off" (unless it's Shatner because, really, even when he's talking to someone else, he's performing for himself). Two is where the action is for most of these actors.

i dont get it. the bajoran worm hole, its right there. a door way right into the middle of a different quadrant. how can our captain have come this far, and never spent any time flying around there? i dont get the impression that part of the peace between the dominion and federation is that we absolutely stay out of the gamma quadrant or else, and if theres going to be a new faction, dominion is the only one that makes much sense. there really isnt a cardasian empire anymore, its more of a federation territory these days, and they are just a bunch of terrorists otherwise, not much of a faction there.

instead we are going to the delta quadrant, that needed a contrived reason for you to even reach there.

borg, god no, no playable borg PLEASE. that cant be done well, cant really work within the current player system, without you being some marysue individual borg thats a special snowflake created to be some anti federation super borg. GROSS. the queen was BS enough, the borg are a collective, there isn't 1 character in it, you cant make them playable in this all about the captain system.

next season needs a crafting overhaul. seems like the perfect way to go about it is the rep window

2014 needs some pvp infrastructure. a per handle ladder system, so those that are unranked and low rank never run into gank fests, err... i mean normal pvpers playing normally.

most of all, 2014 needs a solution to FAW. on its own, its not a big deal, but when theres 3 to 5 people using it, it blankets the enemy team with overwhelming, uncounterable firepower. that, and the scimitar needs to not be able to use beam arrays. quite literally, beam array use needs to be barred from dreadnought warbirds, just like things like DHCs are barred on cruisers.

also, the tzenkethy. this is a race that has next to nothing established about them you guys could do anything with them without violating anything. they are to the left of earth, were there is a growingly odd lack of sector blocks over there. you can have this whole new storyline without haveing to feature some super villain iconions or ending up on the far side of the galaxy to tell it.

you know, for the leveling romulan character, the elatchi are nearly exclusively to a rom character enemy faction you deal with. the other 2 factions almost dont fight them at all. a trashing and redoing of the federation levleing content with the tzenkethy being an antagonist just like the elatchi were to the romulans. the kdf have the fek'ler already, they could also have the hur'q too.

Wheaton as Wesley? rather not, unless there is a significant time travel FE coming at some point. Wesley's journey will likely go unnoticed.

From what I've heard, Wheaton would love to do a voice as long as it isn't Wesley. (And he was Nero's whole crew in the 2009 film, voice wise. He dubbed them all.)

With the Stargazer stuff, maybe he could be young Jack Crusher? David Birkin (who played Rene and young Jean-Luc) as a young Picard alongside Crusher?

Maybe as holograms rather than time travel again? Or if we are doing time travel, have it involve clean-up from another story like teaming up with the Stargazer crew to track down the second T'nae.

List of people I would like to see appear in STO...

    Brent Spiner as Captain Data

In 2408 the USS Enterprise NCC-1701-E was sent to investigate the loss of communications with Starbase 236. Then, in 2409 we get a brand new Enterprise NCC-1701-F. So what exactly happened to the Enterprise-E and Captain Data? I propose a story that involves us finding and rescuing the Enterprise-E which was previously listed as missing in action.

Several things we could get out of this episode:

    1. Brent Spiner returning as Data
    2. Assault Cruiser Retrofit
    3. Canon Sovereign Class Bridge/Interior
    4. Type 11 Shuttlecraft or Starfleet Scoutship

Sir Patrick Stewart as Jean-luc Picard

Captain Picard became Ambassador to Vulcan in 2387. It would be interesting if we could visit Vulcan and encounter the Ambassador for whatever reason. I just found it odd that we can walk around the Vulcan area but there isn't much to do, so expanding Vulcan and giving us a good reason to hang out there would be great.

Jeri Ryan as 7 of 9
    Robert Picardo as "The Doctor"

I don't know how easy it would be to bring in two classic Trek actors at the same time, but bringing in these two would be great. Both Seven and The Doctor could be working on advanced Anti-Borg/Undine technology when they're asked to take a look at Iconian technology as well. This would be similar to how the Romulans use Borg tech to toy with Iconian gateways.

They could also introduce Jupiter Station! How cool would that be? Not only can we visit Jupiter Station and see Seven and The Doctor, but Cryptic could use it as a place to tease us with new stuff. For example, if Cryptic plans to add a new Fed ship to the game, they could post a Master System Display of the new ship on a wall so people can get a small look at the design before it comes out.

    Armin Shimerman as Quark

We have heard "Quark Enterprises" mentioned a couple of times in the game, such as from Holo Leeta. It would be interesting if Quark Enterprises played a larger role in the game and it was represented by Quark himself.

    Many More...

I can think of a lot more but this is just off the top of my head. The Brent Spiner one is my personal favorite because I would love to know what happened to his character and his ship. Plus a new, canon accurate Sovereign Class model would be fantastic. Well, actually it would be a refit Sovereign Class which John Eaves designed for Star Trek Nemesis but was never seen on screen. Still, it would be pretty amazing IMO.

Doesn't even need that much of an excuse - while he was visibly really old, McCoy was still active as late as Encounter at Farpoint - by which time he was 137 years old. TNG-era Federation medical science is wondrous stuff.

On an entirely different note, I can only say that I hope the expansion does not bring in a Cardassian faction with Dominion races. That ship sailed to all-faction-hostile territory long ago.

Yeah pretty much has been the best year of STO yet.

The best parts were making playable romulans/remans and 2 KDF ships the kamarag and the mogh that are actually worth using :)

I do kinda like the idea of pulling certain missions like the elachi in and out like that it gives the immersion where you can have so many enemies to fight but not all at once to where it overwhelms one faction in reality when looking at the different series :)

Of some posts I've seen I believe some skills could use some complete scrapping and design them more out of a canon aspect vs uncontrollable spam. As well filling out a few more canon KDF ships, fixing uniforms, and moving on from that would be a complete and total success going in 2014 :)

    Cryptic,

Glad to hear that 2013 was the best STO year yet!:)

I'm hoping the new expansion will be the Cardassians, also as mini-faction, to simply get them into the game. (After that, the Dominion would be my pick for the 5th faction coming out. However, I would make this third expansion a major one, in which the Dominion is launched as a full faction, and the Romulans and Cardassians are upgraded to full faction status as well. But that is a few years off, so back to the near future.)

    Voice Overs
    1) Garak (voiced by Robinson) for the Cardassians (if this is the new faction for Season 10)

    AND

    2)Jeri Ryan as 7 of 9 OR
3)Robert Picardo as "The Doctor" for season 9, as we investigate more into the Delta quadrant.

Things I would still like to see, as a HUGE Romulan fan, if you guys have time, is the creation of one more playable Romulan faction race, the Suliban. I would also like to see the Advanced Communication array migrate over to Romulan cruisers, as without it, I personally see no need to fly one. Other then that, a few more Romulan costumes would be great, but all of these are if you have some time, as I think a 4th mini faction is the best way to go!:)
