Crit is getting out of control on Roms, but nefing already existing sources of crit will make a lot of people mad. Best to nerf stuff people don't have yet, those new spire tac consoles, people will still get them anyway as its a cheaper way to get mk xii purple tac consoles then exchange, so they don't need the vulnerability locator to be strong. Also maybe that T 4 dyson passive should be looked at. Romulan boffs should not be nerfed, but other factions should get more boffs with space traits.
Maybe there should be some item or ability that gives chance% to resist placates too.
We're not asking for nerfs, no one is using the consoles yet. We're asking for a cap for crth and crtd. Things will still die easily very fast. This is actually to help you so pve content doesn't become more trivialized than it already is.
Some pvpers play pve as well, and enjoy it. We don't want pve ruined by power creep. We don't want pve god mode.
Guys they aren't going to fix this stuff, there was nothing super hidden or not completely known before S8 launched. They will never fix it, they will continue to sell you more stuff, and you will continue to buy the stuff.
If you want it fixed stop buying anything, stop opening lock boxes because right now you give them no reason to stop.

I don't think crtD and crtH are really the issue, besides some critical procs which may need time gates put on them (the proton procs mainly).
At 40% crtH and 100% crtD, you get a damage bonus of 40% compared to your base. This is less then activating APA.
The problem is that everything stacks, some things additively, some things multiplicatively. The multiplicative stacks are the issue.
A possible solution would be to nerf critical hits in general by removing the effect of BOFF abilities on critical bonus damage.
The bonus damage percentage is determined by your crtD skill, multiplied by your normal damage for that shot. Instead, have the base damage used to determine the critical bonus only include the effect of player skills, weapon power and ship equipment.
Abilities such as tac fleet, APA's damage bonus, APO, GDF, CRF, CSV and BFAW would not affect critical bonus damage when they change your base damage. Beam Overload would be an exception due to it's unique shot type. APB and APD would still have an indirect effect through resist debuffs, but not direct damage boosts.
Ex: Your beam array does a base of 1000 disruptor damage before any abilities.
APA puts that to ~1500, plus APO and BFAW3 bringing it to near 2000.
GDF puts it to ~3000.
You crit with 80% crtD.
Instead of doing 3000 + 0.8*3000 for 5400 damage, you hit for 300 + 0.8*1000 or 3800 damage.
This is a significant nerf. However, new consoles and abilities should be introduced which buff crtD and crtH without changing base damage.
Ex: Attack Pattern Zeta
+20/25/30% crtD
+5/7.5/10% crtH
Your crits come more often and hit harder, but you can't use APB or APO to buff your normal damage at the same time (they would share global)
Ex: Attack Pattern Omicron
+30/40/50% crtD
+7.5/10/12.5% crtH
-20% defence
-20 all damage resistance
Basically a buffed APE, however you lose defence and damage resists. This symbolizes your ship exposing itself in combat in order to hit exposed enemy weakspots.
Ex: Precision Fire (Shares global with BO and BFAW as well as CRF and CSV)
Reduces Rate of Fire by 25/20/15% (cycles take longer)
Increases accuracy by 20%
Increases crtH by 7.5%
Increases crtD by 25%
Your base DPS decreases, but you are more accurate, you crit more often and crit harder. This would be good against high defence targets which would often dodge your shots.
Ex: Sensor analysis would also add +20% crtD and +5% crtH to the user at full stacks.
Basically, nerf base crit damage, but add abilities to allow it to go back up, at the expense of something else.
They are Dilithium farms completed in under 5 minutes by most fleet and veteran groups and 3 minutes by some
I am taking a tier 2 ship into infected elite the movie version of the Enterprise class heavy cruiser ( kirks) movie ship and doing well in it on my romulan 1k to 6k beam hits
on his jem hadar dreadnought its 20k dps which is silly stupid damage
whats easier capping our damage /Crits
Or going thru all PvE content and upping the hull points and shields of all NPCs too account for all the extra defenses and damage we players do now
The PvE game content is really now just farms with little to no challenge left in them with veteran players

JJ-Verse will never be Canon or considered Lore...It will always be JJ-Verse
If I could +1 this post I would. PvE is getting too easy. I really hope they add another level of difficulty with better AI and skills. Adding more hp will just make it last a little bit longer but not add any more fun.
I will say though, in general, pve has gotten more fun. The elachi and the voth both use meaningful skills. They're still easy, but it's way better than before LoR.
Personally, I don't really want to see a "new" difficulty mode. However, I WOULD like to see the existing ones re-done, so they mean something. Right now, Elite mode for just about any mission, means it MIGHT be 1.1x the difficulty level of normal. That means at worst, it's only 10% more difficult. And the rewards also don't scale up that much more either. When I first started doing missions on elite mode, I expected that would mean more blue/purple rarity (and higher Mk's) of loot, vs, doing normal missions. And that really doesn't happen, with the exception of Crystalline, and the Borg STF's, and that's pretty much only the final rewards. The drops themselves don't really increase at all.
So, I would like like to see, maybe Normal, at what is now Elite level, Hard would be at least 50% more difficult, with a decent increase in loot capability, and Elite should be at least twice as difficult. And not just Hull/hit points of enemies, but better AI's for the higher modes of difficulty. (*Oh, and get rid of the crappy one-shot Gozer torps type of stuff, and even down Donatra's Thalaron blast a bit. Sure it should have a decent chance of 1-shotting you, but you should also have a chance of it NOT doing so (Mainly would help slowert ships, especially in the case of a> evasive's on cooldown because of quick cloaks/thalaron combo's that can happen, & b> the "prefire" thalaron blast that occurs sometimes.))
As far as PvE AND PvE, I would like to see it more tactical/strategic in dimension. You, just about in any sci-fi movie, game, or even novels, rarely see ship combat that lasts only 15 seconds, yet this occurs quite frequently in this game. I know some people like the "quick kill" mode, but I imagine others are like me, that like the idea of battering a ship to pieces over time, and when you finally blow it up, you feel like you actually won, not just "Yawn, another 5 second kill". Also, I'd like to see a mechanic worked in, where the "current ship injuries (damage)", would occur during the normal flow of gameplay. After all, it was quite frequently in the shows & movies, you heard about the engines getting knocked offline, or weapons being down, shield generators being damaged, etc. Along with that, make the penalties for exploding be far more sever, such as, after the mission, having to pay a certain amount of EC, to rebuild your ship, having to wait a certain amount of time before you can use that ship again (and a mechanic where you can't just decommission that ship & re-commission the same class ship (in the case of C-Store ships). I imagine that would nix a lot of the kamikaze tactics currently used, and make it where you actually had decent consequences for deciding to use them, and also get rid of the "So what if I die, I'll just respawn in 8 seconds and come right back" mode of thinking.

This game is now for casual people doing casual things.
I myself have high damage stuff but right now I'd rather do ground stuff, play with my fleet, spend my time in the tailor, doff. I don't need this consoles, I don't want them but I'm not going to go around crying my eyes out over it and try to deny it from others.
It's time people got off their high horses and accepted they are not the people this game is catering for. Either sit back, relax, have some fun pewing around or leave before you get too disillusioned because this ship is here to stay.
I'm sick of this whining and ********, I'm sick of the PvE players are dumb and it takes no skill so we imply they have no skill. I'm sick of the PvPers being elitist douchebags because they find things easy by having all the best toys that they don't need either. I'm sick of people wanting more and more power when they don't need it. I'm sick of people not giving two hoots about balance in the wider sense and only caring about their niche.
I'm finding, more and more, that I can't target escorts targeting me because I'm constantly placated by critical hits. This is a joke. Not that Cryptic cares.
I'm not using the placate proc in pvp...coming from pve is kinda hilarious about all these toys I have access to and would've grabbed if I always pvp'd.
It's like it's my birthday. I'm killing people and I'm not at full power yet...i hope it won't become a fish in a barrel type of gameplay in a month from now...

Who is this 'we' you're talking about?! I'm pretty sure it doesn't include me.
Just because Roms have way too much CrtH, doesn't mean others do too. If you want to bring balance to the Force, nerf Roms. Hard.
Please don't. I've actually started having fun in this game again after so long. :P
Why not just do away with the "placates on crit" BS entirely? Would it really hurt the game if it wasn't here?
Just go and use mark X white gear, and stop ruining other's fun.
The issue is PvP, not PvE.
