Season 8 'Origin' bridge warp field effect bugged... *fix available in future patch*

On the new Origin bridge the starfield outside the viewscreen makes it appear the ship is going in reverse. Not a major bug I guess, but kind of weird looking.

The starfield outside the window in the Captain's ready room is also going the wrong way too.

Snap, have the same issue. It's so obvious I can't believe it made it to Holodeck.

Small problem with the moving starfield outside the new Origin bridge - the stars are moving forwards, which would imply - all things being relative - the ship is at warp in a backwards direction.

Something tells me someone didn't think that through... :P

Would be nice if that could be fixed.

When at warp, those aren't stars you see moving past the ship outside the windows - otherwise you'd be traveling much, much faster than warp 9.X. I forget the technobabble used in the explanation though, but they're definitely not stars.

Regardless, whatever it is, it's moving in the wrong direction. If you're travelling forward in a car, things at a relative stop appear to move from your forward vision backward - the starfield, or whatever you want to call it, on this bridge, is moving back to front.

It's incredibly jarring, and very incorrect.

Indeed. I looked out the window and went "Oh cool, a starfield instead of a generic random screen."

Then noted how the stars were going backwards (after looking at ceiling window first). "So wait, we are going at warp in reverse?"

edit: As well, when I went to another deck it had the old style hallways. how do we get the new ones?

I noticed it as well along with the mirrored textures on the new display panels at the rear of the bridge, seriously if you design a brand new bridge for the new federation tutorial make sure you map the UV's correctly.

Also does anyone else feel a bit cheated that the Origin bridge is just that a bridge rather than a whole new interior (like the defiant or constitution class) I was expecting Origin Small, Origin Medium and Origin Large?

I'm going to assume one of the ensigns accidentally set the view screen to the rear view camera.:P

The window that is the top of the bridge has the stars... or whatever, going in the same direction, so unless they are both a view screen, and when the forward screen is set to aft, the screen in the ceiling also flips around... no.

And yes, where are the new interiors? There was a whole dev blog on it... you'd think they would be in game >>.

First off, the origin bridge is awesome, and I was excited to find it available after doing the new tutorial.

Problem: the origin bridge viewscreen and rooftop are showing warp speed star streaks moving in reverse. Seems like a pretty major oversight for the art team.

Second: I liked the interior from the tutorial mission as well, but there's no interior included with the origin bridge. Would be nice if we could select it - I've been playing sto since pay to play times and we've still gotten stuck with the same 3 interior layout options unless you're using a special ship/interior pack. It's about time we get some variety and improvements in that regard.

yea they need to fix the movement direction. I was also disappointed at the lack of a unique interior, I've been playing since pay to play times and I'm soooo sick of the interiors we have still.

Agreed. I think they were a good start, but we need new interior. The hallways, the shuttlebay (hey we already have the map thanks to the tutorial), a holodeck....maybe even astrometrics? Even hydroponics....the Rommie bridge has that.

You need to talk to the engineers at the shipyard, they put your bridge on backwards. It happened to me too. :(

And while i'm at it, let me just throw out this minor pet pev. On the large interior, the engineering deck is circular. Meaning on the saucer section. Everyone know Engineering and the warp core go in the main section, somewhere behind the defector dish and forward of the nacelles. Which means non-circular hallways. Just saying :P

love the actual bridge... still wondering why all the doors on my bridge are so freaking MASSIVE i mean look at the size of them, are they expecting folks to be walking around in those exo suits or something or having dinosaurs roam the place with such massive doors, i mean i was really hoping for SMALLER corridors as new ship interiors and not a massive race track round the saucer section but it looks like they are going for bigger again for whatever silly reason lol, also might wanna take a look at the bloom on some of the items in the ready room they look rather radioactive atm.

The 2 chairs on either side of the captain's chair are not evenly spaced. If you look at the captain's chair with your back to the view screen, the chair on the left is closer than the one on the right. I don't know if this was intended or not but to me it looks wrong.
The lighting in the captain's ready room (especially the fish tank) was way too bright. I invited a friend to my bridge and he saw the same lighting. Was that bright we could not even see anything inside the tank. Although I haven't seen anyone else notice the lighting problem so i don't know if it was a bug on my end or not. My friend also seeing the lighting would suggest it's not just me though.

On a personal note, I really dislike the placement of the 2 con positions down in front of the view screen. The angle and proximity to the view screen seem wrong to me. Also the 2 terminals in front of the captain need chairs. But that's probably just my opinion and other's may disagree...

I LOVE the new Origin bridge. It seems to fit ships like the Armitage and Chimera much more naturally with the inclusion of the hybrid viewscreen/window.

However, in the current Origin bridge, the warp effect is playing backwards, so it looks like the ship is traveling in warp in reverse. If you go into your ready room, and look out the window, the motion is moving in the correct way, it is only an issue on the bridge.

This is by no means a game-breaking critical bug, but I wanted to let you know.

    EDIT:

Here is a quick GIF showing what I mean.

I think I've said this 20 times already, the ship is already turned around, it will be fixed in an upcoming patch. There is no need to keep reporting this.

So say it again but this time I mean it OMG. It is not fixed. It might be 'fixed' on a computer you work on or another server but not here. What you need to do is make a video make screenshots and provide the documentation and reports proving it. THEN we might consider the fact that you have it 'fixed internally'.

I think I saw your first reply to the issue about it being fixed - but maybe you should have asked Branflakes to list it in the known issues of the patch notes to keep people from keep asking about it later. :)
