So really no new Klingon ships

I've always heard Klingons are going to get some love in season 8. While it's still early, the launch date is Nov. 12 and there hasn't been any Dev logs concerning new KDF content. Btw, the fleet Karfi doesn't count because every faction is getting a fleet version as well (Rom - escort carrier, Fed - Atrox). Why do KDF keep getting the shaft?

    No idea why we're getting the shaft but our new Cruiser (Negh'var variant from what we hear) got pushed back to 2014.

    They say it was to because the Obelisk needed more resources but the next thing you know the Avenger got released.
    I was once DKnight1000, apparently I had taken my own name so now I'm DKnight0001. :confused:

    Geko said in a podcast interview that he'd like to release it before the end of the year, but that no guarantee can be made on that. So hope for an early release, but expect it to come in 2014.

    I'm waiting for the flood of fed fan boys and cryptic defenders to tell us how horrible we are for wanting a new ship lol

    I think Geko was being optimistic with the 2014 release date he wanted to first make:

    *Sharks with jet packs
    *Xindi playable species
    *A 5/3 K'Vort for federation players
    *retrofit all existing maps for jet pack use
    *Finish fleshing out the limited line of Federation ships
    *Cardassian faction
    *Complete seasons 8 - 15

    I then believe we may get a Tier 3 ship and 1 - Uniform option

    I honestly hope we get something added to KDF before 2020, but I got tired of holding my breath. Losing consciousness from lack of O2 is not good for you.

    Just as I'd REALLY like to see some balance in the C-Store... I want my darn Tinfoil Hat costume unlock for the KDF! It could've been a rather humorous reward for Hearts and Minds, actually... but I'd spend Zen to wear it on my KDF captains.

    Avenger notwithstanding, isn't the future direction for them to focus on ships from lockboxes and the Lobi store?

    Obelisk seems to be the harbinger - top ship is a Lobi only deal.

    The more and more non-canon fan-art ships come out, puts "Star Trek" further into the past.

    Problem is Cryptic things there is no money to gain from KDF as according to their figures the majority plays Federation. That's their point of view for a long time for now and I don'tsee that changing anytime. KDF is for them a second class faction.

    the klingons did get a new ship its called the avenger now stop complaining and play the fed's like they want you to.






    BTW I am being sarcastic unfortunately if I dont put this in somebofy will think I am serious hehe

    Branflakes mentioned something about a new Klingon ship in the works apart from Fleet ships coming down the line (during the recent Season 8 livestream).

    Well that's kind of a chicken and an egg situation. You don't put money into the KDF, no one wants to play it. So then no one plays it, and they feel it's not profitable to put something into it. And they haven't put as much money into the KDF as they did into the Feds since day 1.

    Mind you the KDF has improved, in jumps and spurts, but it's not nearly as smooth as a curve as the Federation doesn.

    And let's remember that the last time we were promised a a bunch of stuff was LoR... and we all saw how that turned out. The devs to this day still insist that what we got from LoR was more then enough.

    This. It is pretty clear that people don't want to play broken content. So the population stays low which they use to reinforce their position. Honestly, this goes for STO in general, which has a super high turn over rate, but most especially for the Klingon faction. The sad part is that it wouldn't take all that much effort to dramatically improve the faction. A few new ships, some new costumes and few missions to replace the ones that were lazy Fed clones.

    But why bother when players are willing to throw hundreds of dollars at them for the latest p2w lockbox ship.

    As soon as I can I will link the interview that I was told about yesterday. Evidently Al Geko wad interviewed and stated that KDF are getting two ships fairly soon and schefuled yo get more in 2014. One of which is a 5 fore format.

    Nice KDF defentally need more ships my KDF chars would enjoy having a decent option from the C-Store. And with how the Avenger looks to run I'll even be happy if its just the Avenger with KDF markings.

    More like self-fulfilling prophecy. Or a negative feedback loop. But yes, one major factor for not as many KDF players is the lack of ship options and storyline missions. Honestly, with the Fleet project, Reputation sytem and all the accolades, there is so much to do any player who is bored is just to being creative enough with what is already there.

    I short, I wish there was a total halt to more Federation development and more focus on KDF and Romulan exclusive leveling missions followed by a major overhaul of the already exisitng material to fix the major bugs. Quality control needs to take a much higher priority over implementing new features.

    Sorry it needs to be the mindset of "If you build it, they will come." Build more KDF ships and do more for the KDF and Romulan, you might get more people playing those factions.

    Cause you do the story and it's "ooo, ahhh" then you go back to where you have the best stuff.

    Right now it's fed, though to build CC the non money way, it's actually KDF with the amount of Dilithum you can generate doing defense of the empire.

    Crank out 150 CC a day with 2 KDF and 1 KDF rom, though it takes a long time, though not like I got much else to do.

    I can't wait to listen to it then :D Lets just hope that its true LOL. If it is true they must have realized how many people want it on the KDF side :D

    I'm predicting one of those two is the Fleet Kar'fi (definitely appreciated, kudos to the devs, but it's still just a Fleet variant) and whatever this bloody C-Store ship is supposed to be. Better than nothing, I suppose, but it doesn't do anything to address the huge gaps in the escort and science ship lines.

    I guess we'll just have to wait and see what we get, and hope it's more than crumbs. I'm considering just leaving the game entirely for the next 8 months and then coming back to see if anything's improved. I just get too pissed off at Cryptic and its treatment of the KDF faction.

    Is what most ppl are thinking is that the 2 are fleet kar'fi and fleet vet ship and then the other that has been stated to being worked on since beginning of this year is the c-store negh var. Their biggest problem is they get hung up on the bortasqu' and how it doesn't sell being they allowed the opposite faction to pretty much dictate its useless factors and then not come out with anything in 2 years pretty much so based on what they say about the issue this game could go 10 years without anything for the KDF and they would still base it something no one wants and make that their stance on why they shouldn't make any more KDF ships. Although as time passes and they make more and more for the fed side or romulans the regular KDF trend will decline as they become more advanced in mechanics. I guess we are lucky that KDF ships were included in the cruiser/battle cruiser powers.

    Funniest part is most of the time when you ask a dev what faction they play they say KDF but if that were true they would be more inclined to be pushing out what they play :D The other factor is that all these joint task forces are coming together now and the way canon Starfleet and The Empire would do is they wouldn't cooperate on anything unless they had some kind of hard alliance which always brought them back together after re-learning their end goals or endgame was pretty much the same but yet in this game its blood enemies always unless you are in the pve que rofl.

    I could moan about KDF non-love for hours but I promised myself Id take a break and just say what I want and hope to hell someone who can DO something is reading:

    I want more KDF carriers!!!

    Not sure if the Z Store has 4 Fore/4 Aft weapon carriers (I only fly my Mirror Vo'Quv), but picture even a 5 Fore/2 Aft beast . . . maybe something that spits out something amazing like a total of 4 old school D-7s?!! *droooooooool* (hell, I'd take 2!)

    Carriers were supposed to be KDF exclusives and the reason one would start a KDF toon. Feds whined and got the Atrox, but they didnt get any of our sweet pets. Now they have the Obelisk and I will smash everyone I see with Elite BoPs . . . I swear to Ka'less!!!

    Fix up the Hanger AI . . . gimme a couple more carrier toys to compete with all the Rommie/Feds that have Scimitars . . . Im good to go.
