Amagaad...hi.
So, I was talking with a few friends in PublicEliteSTF - inb4 "lol astartes still in that channel?" - and I was talking about how ships from JJ-Verse could TOTALLY be incorporated into STO!
For those unaware, pretty much anything with "JJ-" in front of it is talking about the Star Trek movies directed by JJ Abrams. Hence, JJ-Verse = the alternate timeline, JJ-Prise, the new USS
Enterprise, and so on.
So here's what I came up with.
See, first of all, the JJ-Prise would work, just because it has cool flashing lights and makes weird high tech noises when it flies. Seriously, just count all the sound effects you hear when it's flying over Vulcan. So, cool lights, cool noises. Who doesn't like those? AND. JJ-Prise could actually make single cannons useful again.
You make JJ-Prise a bundle. Just because, why not? STO loves their Fed-only bundles. Oddyssey, Vesta, etc. So we got the Tac-Prise, Eng-Prise, and Sci-Prise.
Tactical JJ-Prise has a damage boost to cannons. Simple enough.
Engineering JJ-Prise has a bonus to Eject Warp Plasma, and that other weird one Oddys get. Simply because, Scotty wasn't kidding about the Enterprise being a "well-endowed lady", that ship's warp nacelles are friggin' STACKED. With nacelles that big, there's gotta be some bonus to whatever gas that can be spewed from them.
Science JJ-Prise gets point defense. No, not like the Armitege or Thunderchild consoles, I mean like waaaaayyyyy back in the day, those of you who played Star Trek: Armada, remember the Nebula-classes had point defense and shot down torpedoes? This one does the same. Except, ALL torpedoes. Not just heavy ones. Reason I say this is that scene when it dropped out of warp and went total pewpew on Nero's "FIRE EVERYTHING!" spread.
....Side note, I love how it's taken five TV series, eleven or so movies, an alternate timeline, and a completely different director to figure out point defense. I mean seriously, these ships have like twenty-four phaser arrays, advanced supercomputers, fire control systems, computers with gel packs, computers with salvaged Borg nanites, whatever, how is it no one ever just shot down someone else's torpedoes?
Anyway.
Now granted, you'd need some sort of console for all three ships, but what is Star Trek without it's random inexplicable technobabble? Thinking of some name for the polyisolyticnucleictachyometricwhatisthisidonteven chamber, system, matrix, etc. that allows these would be easy.
Now I couldn't think of the bonus that you'd get for having all three. But, as not only am I a tactical captain, I believe that TAC IS LIFE, and there isn't too much in STO that can't be solved with 1. pewpew, 2. bangbang, and 3. boom, and escort bestscort (except dreads, because I love my JHDC to pieces), so I figured getting some special version of Cannon: Rapid Fire as a Captain, not boff power, would suffice. CRF4 or something.
See? Like I said, they could TOTES put JJ-prise in STO, and it'd be epic. Except for the people who hate JJ Trek altogether, but whatever, haters gon hate (and who better to say that than me, drop my name in PESTF at the right time and about twenty people will wake up with reasons why I should be burned at the stake). As far as "omg no its ugly", there are far uglier ships flying around (Odyssey, I'm looking at you, you morbidly obese Sovereign, you) than that one. Hell, you could even throw in the
Kelvin and
Vengeance as lockbox drops or something!
Sooooo yeah. Discuss.

"The conversation took a hard turn when I brought up a question from reader WayneMC, who asked if we will ever see the U.S.S. Vengeance from the most recent J.J. Abrams' film Star Trek Into Darkness. I broadened the question to include any ship or designs from any of the "Abramsverse" films. Rivera smiled and said, "No." It turns out that Cryptic doesn't have the license to any of the Abrams' universe material, [...]"

STO is licensed by CBS, which has the TV-shows property and some of joint control of Prime timeline movies.
CBS is totally different from Paramount and thus STO will never have JJ-prise or anything from the ST(2009) and STID and whatever the third movie is called.
As already said by misterde3, Cryptic doesnt have the license. But apart from that, my feedback.
1. A ship from an alternate universe, which will be 150 years old in STO, cannot be reasonably be brought to the STOverse. The NX and Constitution are defendable, seeing how they are outclassed 563956495 to 1. But those were already in our universe. Now, not even the Tholians would see what there is to gain by ripping a 150 year old cruiser that was already totally outgunned several years after being commisioned (see how the Vengeance pew pews the JJ-Prise). So no possible arguments for seeing it.
2. Your versions, one at a time.
Tactical: Great, a boost to cannon damage. On a ship the size of an Oddysey, you want to work out a build in which the ship has an innate [Console-Tactical-Prefire Chamber Mk oo]. You want to have an escort with cruiser weapon layout and movement. Further more, being innate, there can be no console set bonus, so there goes your 3-pack.
Engineer: enhanced Warp Plasma? Where did I see something like that aga- aah, exactly, the Vent Theta Radiation. And for Warp Plasma doing more damage cause of big nacelles? Have you ever seen the Ambassador? Sorry, no support here from me either.
Science: a point defense system is already in-game. Your suggestion to shoot a "FIRE EVERYTHING" spread down isn't defendable either, since the Nero Torpedoes are ingame as Sharpnel Torpedoes. And guess what? They are destructable by any weapon!
3. Your bonus would totally run out anyone wanting to make a beam boat. Which will be the way to run, seeing that 1. this ship should not have anything else than single cannons for cannons and 2. considering the JJ-prise is the size of an Oddy, it will turn like an Oddy. And to fly an Oddy with cannons... well.... would be fun to try I guess, but no.
4. Cool flashes and technic sounds. I could support that, but it will also TRIBBLE off people. Just like most teams enter rage mode when one member has Retrofit Phasers equipped, just for the sound.
5. There will be such a general rage in STO when a dev would even mention that this is Work In Progress. There are so many JJ-Haters (of which I am not one, as already mentioned) that will go nuts when this ship gets in game. There are hardcore haters that will even leave the game in this case. So the loss of money that this ship would cause would be greater than the potential profit.
In short. No, don't put this ship in game, especially not in the way you suggest.
EDIT: lol, while typing this, there was only OP and misterde3's comment. I have been ninja'd!

Hardly. For that to be true, he'd need to actually, you know, say something.
Sir why are you picking on me ive seen tons of people on here do the same thing and never have i seen you make comments like this to any of them ty and good day Sir

Secondly, no. There is less than 0 need to have anything from the JJ-Verse stuck in game.
We were forced to live with the destruction of Romulus cause of JJ. We don't need a ship that doesn't even know how big it's supposed to be with insides that either, come out of a submarine or a factory or a Apple manufacturing facility
Besides, the ship would be older than hell and be outclassed even by something that was created in the early TNG era.
Also, I'd rather see a T5 TOS Constitution in game before a JJ ship. At least that would have some form of plausibility
and lastly. you still Miri

But anyhow, I find it amusing that some of OP's points are actually kind of true, no matter how tongue in cheek they are.
1. You also forgot the Miranda and Excelsior, KDF's B'Rel BoP, and the Rommies' T'Liss warbird, since we're talking about centuries-old ships. Doesn't stop people from flying them, though.
2.
Tac: I see your point about the JJ-Prise being as big as, and thus flying like, an Oddy. But meh, I've flown ships that big with cannons (namely, the Terran Battlecr....err, Bortasque) and it wasn't too bad. Sure, I couldn't turn on half a dime, but still. They could work something out! JJ-Prise used cannons, there is so a way to handwave in their feasibility on a ship that big just because continuity and canon and whatnot. As I said, make up some fancy universal console that also happens to have [+Turn] on it. After that, a couple consoles from your embassy, and you're in!
Eng: JJ-Prise's warp nacelles are probably as big as the Ambassador's secondary hull. Okay, that's exaggerating, but still. AND. Does the Ambassador have that little light show for a bussard ramscoop? Nuuuuu...so that's gotta count for something.
...Thank you for Vent Theta Radiation, though, I always wondered what that sickly green cloud was that Oddys can emanate...
Sci: My example about Nero's torpedoes was where I got the idea for said point defense. The point defense itself would be for every other kind of torpedo. Photon, quantum, plasma, friggin' transphasic I don't know. Point is, it's in case anyone wondered, on top of so many other things, undoubtedly, where I even came up with "point defense'.
3. People use beams on ships meant for cannons, and vice versa, all the time. There'd still be beam boats, and staunch defense over whether or not it's better.
4. JJ-Prise soooooo sounds cooler than retro phasers. And has a more impressive visual effect.
5. So? There's always rage in STO, from everything to bugs that've been "known issues" for months, to the KDF's utter lack of content in comparison to the other factions, to the KDF's broken tailor (and their removal of a certain key costume piece from the KHG set), to lockboxes, to ZEN, to whatever else it's convenient to complain about at the time. Hence why I said, "haters gonna hate".
See? My original point stands. Whatever else I didn't cover, handwave this, retcon that, throw in a sudden "20% off all Z-Store ships!" sale to distract people, boom, Jay Jay Praiz. I mean, hell, they've included, literally, every single other Enterprise hull, from TOS Connie to Sovereign (I refuse to acknowledge the Odyssey-class Enterprise-F, just because I hate Oddys) they could work something out. Ijs.
(And for the record, I'm well aware they'll make reputation unlocks account-wide before they ever incorporate JJ Trek into STO....but if they did....ohhhh, if they did.... )
Was time for one of those..
OP: I dislike you for kicking a already dead horse, and not respecting it's physical remains. You are a bad person.
Indeed.
As soon as I read the replies, I weeped for humanity. No wonder governments and corporations get away with so much TRIBBLE when there's so many gullible people.
Anyway, since you forget to answer to that : license. No matter how good you think it would be, Cryptic can't. Because CBS can't.
normal text = me speaking as fellow formite
colored text = mod mode
Because I've never had someone dislike me in STO, before, evar.
So sure CBS and Crpytic and PWE and whoever can't, because licensing this and rights that, but...who's to say that doesn't change in a year or two from now? I mean.....stuff happens.
Again. Ijs.
Plus I don't think there'd be that much rage about a JJ-Prise in STO....until you get to places like Ker'rat, when someone gets blown up by a JJ-Prise in pvp. xD
That aside whoever designed the Enterprise for the film has talent. +1 to the J.J.A. Enterprise.

Has damage got out of control?
This is the last thing I will post.
Seriously stop and look at it again....
once you are done looking carefully you can stop asking for it....

"IF" it works out. I say leave the ship at Tier 1 and 2. Since I can't have my Connie Refit at Tier 5.

Part of why I play this game is to forget the JJ Trek ever happened, and continue in the universe I grew up watching and got so invested in.
I stand by my belief that JJ Abrams sis to Star Trek what Michael Bay did to Transformers. The only thing JJ has going for him was casting, especially Karl Urban.
Seriously, the EXETER. aside from it being the wrong size, and a few different colors, it is almost EXACTLY the JJ prise, same nacelle psoitioning, same swoop to the pylons, same overall look. im actually fairly certain the jj prise was jacked from the Exeter.
And seriously you want a T1 cruiser that is as big as the Oddyssey.....

[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]
The Exeter and JJ Prise don't look the same. There is a lot of differences. But I'm not going there.
No, the Connie Refit isn't the size of the Odyssey. Being only 305 meter long, versus something like 1,000 meters. Far longer than the Sovereign at 686 meters long.. Not every Fleet needs huge ships like that. Even look at the Connie variants. All them are new but smaller. For base patrols, escorts, scouting or other missions. That is more suited to a smaller vessel. Not a huge one. Just like any sea fleet. They don't all use air craft carriers. There is tons of smaller support vessels for other stuff.
Therefor there is always role for that size of ship. Here is the Excalibur Class description.
The Excalibur class is well-suited for cargo or transport missions. Its expansive cargo holds make it indispensable to Starfleet as a vessel used to resupply planets, space stations, and other starships. The power systems make it possible to run industrial replicators indefinitely, making this class the ideal choice for evacuation and mercy missions.
This said and being of 2409 era. There is use for a ship like this as a light cruiser, fast cruiser, etc. If that don't work. Then my Klingon Captain will love a word with you. As he cruises with his K'Tinga Retrofit. From the same era as the Connie.
