Hmn... first and second accolades for killing Voth ships:
Doctrinal Differences 20 Voth ships - 10pkt,
Apocryphal Doctrine 100 Voth ships - I don't know.
To be productive in what I am trying to explain in it all...
Seems right now the design of it is that Allied ship hits waypoint if enemy npcs do not kill it, it scores. If it scores its designated to spawn x amount of enemy ships until the cycle repeats.
There is no tactics as far as what kind of ship will be sent, what its methods would be if there was a methodology behind how you could choose about doing that.
The other thing there is no advantages or disadvantages if you say *own* portion of territory which is by far the definition of what is the glue that holds that method of game together. I hate to be negative on something wanted for so long but if this is going to be a grind for mark to clog up inventory even more I do not think the right message was established. It would be more so on abilities on the level of the reputation doing this to go along the lines of abilities and tactics and less on items for this rep.
At the very least though there should be highlights specified for each one of those parts of the spire owned there should be some kind of mechanics of the spire to benefit either side for how many collectively that are owned. Just my take on it though since theres a lot of familiar things you would expect in most mmo territory control but the instanced portion of a very limited amounts of players in some ways puts a hamper on it.
Visually the ships are spot on to their City-ship counterpart but.... Why are these ships so shiny?
You'd think that the Voth, being the Voth, wouldn't really sit there in the city-ship and polish these things 24/7 given what they said was little to no interaction with other "inferior" species. This is not to say no body is there to maintain them at all... just that.... they all seem too polished. They need a bit more grit, a bit more grunge to them...
It's a stylistic choice that I agree with, it gives the Voth ships a visual identity that is both consistent with their high-tech background and distinct from most other species.
I don't think whether you are isolationist or not has any bearing on the shininess of your ships.
I imagine it won't be for a few weeks. The devs might introduce the basics of the Voth Reputation and new Fleet Holding to Tribble before giving access to Silvers.
the marks are far to low even with a better score and the voth ships are not threat to any ship no shield loss or hull loss my cannons just to in to them and by the time they start to fire back they are dead and there cloak dose not seem to be very good even after they cloak they can still be seen if within 2-5k of them

Yeah it'll be in the lobi store soon or lockbox... I'm just waiting for the photonic quantimized transphasic tricobalt chronitonized mega torpedo to hit the game so it can be so unrecognizable for the game that I won't know its suppossed to be a star trek game anymore :P

all the cruisers being invincible to energy weapons was very annoying. even the frigates seemed to have some kinda cloak that made them invincible too. other then that they appeared pretty typically boring npc wise. putting up a fight would make them fun, cycling life saving station powers would make them fun, not every one of them having this invincibility period dragging out a dull fight longer then it deserved too.
the spawn point on their transports was so static, i could sit there and camp them 1 by 1. i was gonna move around and go were i was needed, but there was no better place then there, camping.
the shuttles being so quick was interesting, that was some actual sport. they didn't even shoot, but they were the most interesting thing to deal with. more so then the transports that lumbered toward me begging for death. or any of the other npcs moving at about 10 speed fireing off beam arrays became anything with a more narrow arc the AI couldn't hope to use.
and the rewards are still being tuned. All your comments on your performance will help us tune the rewards.
FYI, the Voth Task Force Rep has some pretty mega rewards, and is, in fact, a brand new Rep schema which is much more satisfying and rewarding. So the payoffs for all Dyson sphere content should feel much more rewarding than in the past. Hopefully you will like it, and we will update the old reps once we are all happy with it.
this..... does not bode well. How about we shake the usual rep grind release rap a little up this time.
First) Introduce ALL, you know as in all, not just the ones you expect people to gain after the usual server full...log on madness of release day, for testing on tribble. NO place holders, tell us what items, and what they are supposed to do.
Second) Do some testing, provide us with numbers, and more particularly tell us your design intentions. SO that feedback can address them.
Third) take the time on tribble to actually balance these items.
Ah who am i kiddin *new shinney omg rofl pwn coming to an escort near you in three...two....on
Im in the same boat as usscapital, waited for ages and no one else came to play... Whilst on tribble i did see the placeholder for the fleet spire in the transwarp locations, just says " fleet spire ( delta quadrant ) " should be awesome to see. As far as the new rep is concerned, i think we have a good idea that anti-proton maybe the weapons of choice ( i wonder if they will have the plasma proc like the voth? ).

Could not agree more with this. What you have is mega reward + mega grind. This looks like an even worse grind than Roms. Best of both worlds as far as Cryptic is concerned.
"With the first link, the chain is forged. The first speech censored, the first thought forbidden, the first freedom denied, chains us all irrevocably."
So I watched a video of this and was overwhelmed with how.. bad the mission is in its current state.
Escort with 50 shield power on elite able to not even worry about their shields? Even on normal that shouldn't happen
The mission looks to be a grind, it reminds me of The Vault Ensnared, lots of static spawns, blast away, zero threat to yourself. I'm hoping its not nearly tweaked enough yet, because its not worth testing as it stands
Yeahhhh, that's a bug. That ability is not supposed to be always-active - it's a long-CD defensive cooldown for them. Sorry about that.
oh im sure its has, or should have a long cooldown. but its not like the npc will survive till it gets a chance to use it again. its that every single cruiser/transport that spawns will use it once per life, thats the problem. perhaps a map wide faction global cooldown should apply to this skill on all voth content? so every single one does not use this once you start shooting it?
all that invincibility does is prolong the inevitable, without it putting up enough of a fight that would let it deserve to last that long. thats the difference between a fun opponent, and an annoying one.
79% allied control
31 shuttles destroyed
50 of 50 dreadnoughts destroyed
81 censure points
Total points: 160
15 Fleet Marks
Positives:
stunning battle field. Nice varied objectives,
Voth ships seem to have a lot of tricks but still need clarity.
The whole dysens sphere concept is wonderful.
Battle damage on the final dreadnought is fantastic, holes in the hull with extensive damage and framework showing and burned out areas. Reminds me of NX Enterprise ongoing damage in the show. Very well done.
Issues:
1) tone down the white and blur effects, there are a lot of times you can not see your ship or the enemy because of the special abilities, blinding is not the intended effect of the ability. Likely source of major lag in bigger seneros down the line.
2) Another escort is king event. Cruisers do not have the turn rate to cover a wide enough defense area, nor the speed to run down shuttles. They have to park and defend a small area.
3) Marks are way off. unless the new reward system costs only 25% of what it currently is.
Well the difficulty on Elite definitely needs to be scaled up. It should be clearly more difficult than the Normal version, and it really isn't. I won't dwell on the rewards since they are a placeholder, they just need to be appropriate to, not only the time and difficulty of this mission, but appropriate to how often we're going to have to play this mission and others like it to get whatever inputs the "new style" rep needs (no one likes doing the same thing a hundred times).
The battleship's always-on aceton shield may be a bug, but that actually makes it a challenging opponent, since you can't simply pew-pew it like every other NPC in the game. You need some heavy kinetic damage... which a lot of players choose not to carry. Maybe players who choose not to use torpedoes should be punished for that choice by throwing an enemy at them that they can't kill otherwise.
It's a beautiful map and I like the overall mission parameters. The point DDIS made about how easy it is to simply spawn camp the enemy transports should be addressed. Give the transports a subspace jump or something.
And when that's done, future, let's just throw up an "escort only" restriction to the queue. Cause... You know.... Cruisers are just SOOO good at throwing themselves around hairpin turns and bridging 10 km distances in seconds... What's a subspace jump between Voth and friends, eh?
We don't want what the Feds have. We want the equivalent. We want fairer treatment. Concern, desire, greed to some extent, and passionate belief that the enough people would buy KDF items to make it worth Cryptic's while.
oh im sure its has, or should have a long cooldown. but its not like the npc will survive till it gets a chance to use it again. its that every single cruiser/transport that spawns will use it once per life, thats the problem. perhaps a map wide faction global cooldown should apply to this skill on all voth content? so every single one does not use this once you start shooting it?
all that invincibility does is prolong the inevitable, without it putting up enough of a fight that would let it deserve to last that long. thats the difference between a fun opponent, and an annoying one.
That's a great suggestion, but if they can't stop the Breen and Tau Dewa Jem'Hadar from spamming Subnucleonic beam they'll be able to fix this?

It's a battleship power, not a cruiser power. It causes their shields to drop in exchange for PBAoE power drain, energy weapon power drain, and an explosion when they drain enough energy.
The answer to the question it poses is kinetic damage.

wow, that sounds nothing like whats happening in game thats a bug alright, nothing to fret about then
This is a good point, other than the Iconian ships we've seen, no other enemy faction uses Antiproton weaponry. I'd have thought that at least the Undine/Species 8472 NPC's would, since their firepower in Voyager were an order of magnitude more powerful than anything else previously encountered, outside of massive event encounters like V'Ger; the Doomsday Machine and stuff of their ilk.
It would appear that the new Voth Stf , is able to be played by all factions . whether they are all alieid or not . Probably a mutal agreement loosely exists for the greater good . Ie Same deal the borg have with Omega Force reputation .
An this might well be a prelude to a new Voth reputation which has not been unveil'd at this time, hence the fleet marks as a place holder.
Well, after getting to play a round or two on elite. The mission itself is fun, but way way to easy.
I think it could be two maned fairly well.
The Voth don't hit hard enough, it was barely noticeable that they even fired. And they also went down to fast.
And no, more ships are not a solution to that. they all will fall before a fire at will beam spam in mere seconds.
I would condense the action some, have the voth dread showup right away as their base of operation and spawning all the other voth ships that then attack us and storm the spire.
The missions ends when the dread is destroyed or the voth run out of ships to send against the spire. as win for the players.
Or when the dread docks with the spire as fail for the players.
This would increase the pressure on the players a good deal and be more fitting for a elite setting.
How do we do the event? I went on Tribble but didn't see any options to do the Spire Event. There was nothing in the queue listing and there was no new missions listed in the available tab?
Or you have to be in the Tribble Fleet to get access to the new event? If so that would mean that fleet-less players wouldn't get access to the new content....
