rarely see snow leopards or white tigers (and they would fall under tiger and leopard anyway, of which i listed both), never heard of servals, and lions don't have patterns that i've ever seen; they have solid color fur

Many lions have a facial pattern above their eyes. Young cubs also have spots mainly on their legs.

well, cub patterns are out, since we don't make child characters in STO...well, most of us don't

never seen any patterns above the eyes on a lion...of course, i've never gotten close enough to check, either

Just because it's on a child doesn't mean we can't have it here.

Look right above this lion's eyes. They are hard to see on certain lions due to fur color, but they look like slanted teardrops.

Oh my goodness!! I lost this thread and just now found it again!! It seems the "subscribe" button isn't as easy as it used to be.

As for the hairgel look, have you guys tried toning down the shiny? I am not sure if that would help.

I will subscribe (again) and keep checking back. :)

An old suggestion from the previous thread regarding manes. How about different stages of growth? Like full mane for an adult, or the ability to have a somewhat less developed mane, like an adolescent lion.

While we're at different hair lengths, how about some new tail styles? Easiest one that comes to mind is the real bushy kind, like a Snow Leopard's.

Personally, my own Caitian captain would be quite happy if they'd remove the 'tinting' from the hair and 'beard' selections so that he can actually be a black cat with white hair (ala a 'tuxedo' housecat)...

As it is at the moment, he's a black cat with dirty-grey hair...

    http://imgur.com/R3TEWVD

The colour in the image is off slightly as I chose black and a near luminous orange for the colours, even if you can't see my tag the colours will let you know who I am in game :D

I have had another play around with the ship but can't get the black any darker (it seems to have a metallic overlay on it) but have made the orange slightly lighter to see if the contrast does anything.

I also had a play around with the markings but everything else looks to artificial to make it look anything like cat markings.

It also looks good in black and white for the snow leopard or Siberian tiger look.

that's the thing about this game...you cannot have true black, because something inherent to every model in the game just won't allow for it

and it doesn't help that the palettes that are SUPPOSED to be black aren't actually black to begin with
