hmm i seem to remember a poll n it was a new rom faction that won by a long way now fed only players are complaining LMAO now u know how kdf only players have felt over past year or 2. before any one says im a kdf only player im not i play both factions and payed for a lot more fed side theres a new rep out for u to grind + probly 1 2 new missions as well be happy its more the KDF got for a long time
What ever happened to all of us just being STAR TREK Fans????
Why the hell are we classifying ourselves exclusively as Feds, Klinks, and/or Rommies?
Been playing this game for quite a while now...
I've got one each of the available classes for both Feds and Klingons at max...
(that's six toons in case somebody doesn't like math)
I've got several more assorted, in various stages on Holodeck and about five more assorted that I've transfered over to Tribble, with two more (a Fed & a KDF) started exclusively there.
Today I started another Fed toon on Tribble just to mess around with all the cool stuff that's there and as soon as it's possible I'll start a Romulan one there also.
(as well as start one on Holodeck when May 21st rolls around.)
I don't think of myself as being denied something when I play this game as a Klingon and I certainly don't think of myself as being privileged when playing my Fed toons....
I think of it as another wonderful way to just be a Star Trek Fan playing the ONLY game that caters to my somewhat obsessive hobby (fetish??)...
I enjoy pretending that I'm the Captain of 'what-ever' faction-ship I'm flying in, in the wonderful Trek Universe that Cryptic has created...
And thank my lucky stars that the folks at that company decide to take on this project...
Thank You Cryptic for fulfilling my childhood dream.
I totally agree with this ^.
There are so many complaining people in these forums when we should all be excited!
I agree with this. You can't just ignore the Feds and go "Well, someone else should get some love!" That won't work.
On the other hand, I think that upgrades to the engine, new reputation systems, new endgame STFs, etc, will in fact be that "content" for the Feds.
Are you including, that every last awesome KDF Ship has to be bought with zen? While the feds have a good chunk of awesome enough free/wellfare check ships?
or the fact that every time the kdf gets 2 new goodiees, the feds get 20 times as many new goodies? Feds have 3-4 3 pack ships on the z-store the kdf has what 1 maybe 2?
So show me how a race/faction that has to buy everything it wants, and has been Babbied to start from level 20-21 and been called only 18% of the games playerbase, even though the metric used is counting the 6-10 Feds that some players have as individual player accounts vs the KDF who most only have one of each carreer.
And so how have we gotten more than our share of the content recently or at anytime?
again kdf 2 new uniforms and a ship, feds 20 new uniforms and 50 new ships.
Go ahead and tell me kdf has gotten majority attention? They are a pvp/afterthought faction.
ok it just quoted the wrong post was supposed to quote the person who said the df has gotten too much attention.
The Federation has at least four times the number of players that the KDF has, yet it only has 2-3x the arsenal of ships to choose from...
So, the game already disproportionally favors the KDF. Per-capita (or should I say 'per-capitan' heh) the Federation is, and has been, getting the least content of anyone.
what? is that supposed to be a joke? nothing in this game favors the KDF. nothing whatsoever. where exactly have you been for the last 3 years?
I agree with this. You can't just ignore the Feds and go "Well, someone else should get some love!" That won't work.
they are given far too much as it is. the KDF gets ignored because of it. this update is romulan related. why would anyone in their right mind think that they should get fed stuff in a romulan update
Cryptic doesnt add content at any kind of fast pacing, one developer said it takes then about a month to create a mission.
I did the math once and it would take Cryptic at that pace about 3 years for KDF to reach parity with Federation in terms of missions numbers.
which is why i'm convinced the romulan faction will be a flop. using those claims how many missions do you really expect the romulans to get? probably a number you can count on one hand. on the other hand if they were to suddenly pop out many missions it would be proof we were not told the truth about this 'one month to make a mission' claim
The Federation deserves it. Star Trek is kind of about the Federation afterall. People generally sign up to play as a Starfleet captain. Statistics back that up.
I'm just not crazy about this much effort being given to something that will be used by relatively few players. If they want to add options, that's fine, but that shouldn't mean that the core Federation majority in this game should "sit out" a few updates. Fed players are the bread and butter of this game, and as such, we should be the center of attention for the indefinite future.
I don't think you understand the concept of adding a different faction to the game. that means adding a new faction and concentrating on that for the update used to implement it. not making worthless fed TRIBBLE that nobody needs at the moment
If it takes Cryptic 1 unit of their internal resources (staff, time, bandwidth, money, etc) to create and release a ship; then for every 1 units worth of content they release to benefit X number of players on the KDF, then they should be releasing 4 units of content to benefit 4X number of players on the Fed side.
That's only speaking from BOTH fairness AND business sense.
that makes zero sense
I think the KDF has been a little spoiled.
with what? zero content and a handful of ships in 3 years? if thats your idea of spoiled you're living in a fantasy world. and this, from the guy demanding a ton of fed content in an update intended entirely to introduce a new faction, by its very concept
How can it be trolling when the numbers are on my side?
because you are saying things that are blatantly absurd and have no basis in truth
Per-capita, the KDF has way more content than the Federation.
no they don't and don't try to play semantics. there is far more fed content than KDF. if you can't see what is blatantly in front of you and has been talked about for 3 years straight and acknowledged by every single person in this game, then you are either lying or trying to annoy people by making up bs. the KDF has 9 missions and a handful of ships. thats literally it. thats it in the last 3 full years. the feds have far, far more than that.
I would have given real money for a show about Martok
'much adeu about martok' would be a good name. he could wear english tweed clothes and drink earl grey tea and talk about poetry
And you can just drop your 'entitlement' comment. PWE owns this game, they can do with it as they please; and I am entitled to nothing. But as the end user, I am simply providing concerns that they MAY (and I don't think they necessarily will) risk neglecting the VAST majority of their player base. That is not entitlement, it is feedback.
Although requesting new fed content at the same time as rommie and kdf is tantamount, to going to a birthday party, and regardless of if it's your birthday as well as the Birthday boys, and demanding your own cake, and presents, that is entitlement.
My Generation is every bit the entitlement generation, they are also Gen-X, and those born 1979-1994 and we all have the gimmee gimmees and what.
Feds should only get exclusive content when at least the KDF gets enough content to match the Feds. Hopefully, it will be next season due to LoR having that much content, but Cryptic's history is terrible. About 30 missions that are of the same quality as the story missions the Feds had at launch will be sufficient.

Just my two cents, which will be used to buy zen, which will be spent on my FED character if Cryptic keeps the Fed content coming.
Becuase they are currently Required to level a fed to 25 or 26 before starting kdf character.
so if we had the option to make a kdf without first playing a fed, would that statisic realy hold up?
Why does the Federation have to get things that other people don't? That is silly. KDF is demanding KDF only stuff, potential RR people are pissed their stuff isn't more exclusive, and now Feds are whining that the stuff they get other people get too? If you only play federation (First off, how do you make money? Seriously! Make a KDF toon and see what I mean) then why would it affect you in any way that other people get access to the same stuff as you? Other than being a diva?
Exclusivity is a waste of time. I want more content that I can play on all of my characters, which are currently 60% Fed and 40% KDF and will be sprouting Romulans as soon as I can.
I'm aware your comments are based on feelings, not logic, but:
47 KDF vs 69 Fed Playable ships at T5 and T5.5 (Fleet/Lockbox/Paid)
~40% of the ships are KDF, whereas only ~18% of the players are KDF.
So KDF have, per capita, more ship uniqueness than Fed.
And that only includes T5+, whereas KDF actually get cool and different ships for their C-store +1's at levels before 40, where Fed only get reskins.
And Romulans will be a boon to the game. Regardless of anything else, this will increase population, as long as the forum negativity doesn't scare off returning/potential players. Your fleets will get more people (if you are willing to recruit) and we will have even more unique and cool ships, traits, and events/activities to run.
If exclusivity is a 'waste of time', why in space are we even bothering with separate factions? Let's just throw everything together under the Federation label and be done with it!
There's a reason exclusivity exists. Granted, SOME universal content is good. . .but you have to strike a balance.
Also, I don't consider content that's originally Federation-viewpoint, and then covered up with a flimsy KDF facade, to be truly universal content. Several of the 'universal' mission arcs scream Federation mentality, but are playable by KDF with a few re-wordings and a few different characters. How much content does the Federation have that forces a truly KDF outlook on things?
My PvP toon is Krov, of The House of Snoo. Beware of my Hegh'ta of doom.
i can understand that the kdf need more stuff/ships to play with.
i can understand that everyone is happy about the rommie's.
i can also understand why the feds want more:
i take myself as example:
i have a lvl 50 fed captain,but also a level 50 kdf captain.
i filled the rep systems on fedside, need only the romulan on klingon side.
so i'm pretty much done with those 2.
now tell me,what does it help a player like me,who already have a lvl 50 klingon, that the kdf faction now get missions from 1 to 50?
i'm already lvl 50,so i dont use the low level missions.
again,i'm happy for the others, but i dont get anything of it.
so that leave's only the tholian reputation system left,to "enjoy".
my fed captain is also level 50,on him i'm doing stf's and flark missions over and over, for dillithuim, and flarks.
the only new thing for him is a new grindparty called tholian rep system,so i can grind over and over again!
so,the only thing i can do now is starting a romulan captain, level that captain ( again) do the reputation systems (again) and when it is level 50 i can grind the "endgame" content over and over (again) ?
i think that they need to make new missions, story based missions, for fedaration and klingon, for the players who are already lvl 50 there,so they have to do some new stuff.
because right now,for players like me,the whole update chenced nothing for us on the klingon side, give's us nothing on the fed side, and force us into the romulan faction.
we get nothing,except a new grindfest,and a new ui.thats it.
i little more love for the klingon side about ships is oke.feds have enough to choose from atm.
but please give both fed and kdf new story missions!

I too have a KDF that is max. I plan on running him through the new story content the KDF will be getting to see what is there. No one is forcing you to roll a Rommie.

i know no one is forcing the rommie's,what i mean to say is,that if you want new content, and not grindfesting, the romulan faction is all whats left.so its kinda like: "if you want new content, play the romulans! dont forget to buy some zen in advance!".
and yeah,i'm maybe gonna do the same,so what the new levels are,and pick the good rewards up ( effiecent impulse?) and theen i'm back to grinding...
its just, why dont make new misison content on lvl 50 niveau?
a new season with story content after the undine advance season?
thats all.
The tholian reputation, with, hopefully, some new STFs. And at least a month to farm the tholian marks you need to level up your rep. Anyway, it's good to see an update which isn't federation-centric, for once.
And you can just drop your 'entitlement' comment. PWE owns this game, they can do with it as they please; and I am entitled to nothing. wait until a few months after the may update, and they got the data in on romulan captains before saying Feds are the majority.

Please tell me when was the last time we had exclusive Fed and lets not count the First Contact Day last year.
No really, I like to know that .. or jumping in support of someone that decided to quote me on page 4.
I assumed troll but when someone decides to go about supporting there are things that come to mind.
Sockpuppet.
Troll.
Since we are about to have fun with insults, hey at least the "feddy-bears" and polite and can read and excuse me if I dont feel like waiting 2 years so you damn members if the Klingon Crying Force can fell you are in pair with us Feddy-bears on farming the Dilithium fields.
... I likely got a bit too pissed off about those but letting it does wonders to my blood pressure ...
Your tears are delicious.
Why so serious?
Candy and shinies. That's those exclusive ships that the federation gets. Oh and those exclusive uniforms it gets. Oh and that whole being the prime focus thing. You can't seriously believe that if there were kdf (or romulan when they come) exculsive ships and uniforms for months on end, the fed players (fed exclusive players) wouldn't be here whinying, crying, threatening to leave, speaking of doom and gloom for the game as a whole, and so on.
by the way, to those who keep posting about how they play both factions.... Well, this is obviously not about you guys. You see how both sides operate. It's what I do as well. however, there are plenty of people who outside of making a klingon faction toon, haven't played the klingon faction. Those people, and the ones who haven't even taken that step, are the problem here.

I'll have to go back to his posts, but I don't believe he spoke to fleet actions specifically. There was a vague mention of "max level events", but he didn't elaborate as to what that actually entailed.

Also, why you dismiss shared content so easily ? New content is new content, no matter if the Klingons have it to.
BTW, I fail to see the point of a discussion, it seems the candy you'll have is not the one you want, and you'll complain no matter what.
