[Legacy of Romulus] Tholian Reputation Feedback

... After you put it on the Lobi store as a upgrade?

I am saying that thanks to Tribble they kinda let the new Tholian Taskforce reputation on it, allowing everyone to see what it offers, you can even run the projects if you feel so inclined (well could if there was Tholian Marks available)

Let put this way, I am not against that but fact is YOU CHARGED LOBI FOR IT! and even if I dont own it (heck I dont even own a whole set, parts of a set yes with several characters but none complete) its still very in bad taste you decide to put it on the reputation system AFTER you decided to ask Lobi for a upgrade.

This is also a heads up, DONT BOTHER WITH THE BOXES since all you get is vendor trash, if you have boxes unopen SELL THEN NOW!

Not... necessarily. If this is true, then they've realized that Reputation is much more lucrative than the Lobi Store. I'm certain that a lot of people are going to get a bad taste in their mouths, but caveat emptor. On the other hand however, ultimately I hope this is true, and I believe will work better for everyone in the long run. In fact, quite a few other things like the Zen EVA suits would work better as Reputation projects.

I have never once gotten a box that contained nothing but vendor trash. Every box has contained one or more things that will fetch more from the Exchange than from vendors, and nearly every one has contained things that would fetch far more on the Exchange; even if you don't count the Lobi.

You're entitled to your opinion and to express it here, but the "fact" you presented was simply in error.

That's all a work-in-progress and may not be indicative of how the final version will be -- it's why there were no notes in Tribble. I'm not saying that this set will or won't be there, as things are still being decided on, but until there are Tribble patch notes about it, please remember that it's all not finalized and still WIP.

P.S. Moved the thread to the Tribble feedback forums, as that's what it is.

    Cheers,

....or they noticed that they made a mistake putting this set into the Lobi Store in the first place, going a bit overboard with the whole Pay 2 Win shenanigans.

I did not touch Nukara for a few reasons after the initial look around, that the XII Set Upgrade was part of the Lobi Store was the biggest reason for me.
I did not even try to get it, just ignored the whole Zone because the Lobi Upgrade was screaming Pay 2 Win at me.

If they change their mind and actually put it in the game for free where it should have been in the first place, then i say GOOD!
And unless i absolutely have to, i still will not bother with Nukara, it is just a boring Farming Zone with absolutely no challenge, the Boss Battles are the only thing mildly entertaining, but the daily cooldown on those destroys any replayability there too.
Cross teaming between FED+KDF is also impossible... and getting a KDF group going... oh hell no.

I spent Lobi on the Crystalline upgrades for one of my character, and would wholeheartedly support these sorts of upgrades being removed from the Lobi store.

The reputation system is a much better place for them...I think the crafting system would be a good spot as well.
You're right. The work here is very important.

Looking at the new Tholian Reputation I'd like to ask you - the developers to consider:

    1) Add the reputation items for testing ASAP to the DS9 Vendor. We all know the still ongoing fiasko with the Romulan Flamethrower and other items. So, you guys get early feedback and have the time to make needed fixes to them.

    2) Rename the Nukara Marks to "Tholian Marks" in order to keep in line with "Romulan" and "Omega" Marks

From what I have seen the skill trees do not indicate if the power is for ground or space. Especially, T3 and T4 I think. Yes, there are the icons but not all of them are pretty clear tbh.

They are putting lobi items in Tholian reputation? Sounds great!
Let us wear Swimsuits on Foundry maps or bridges please! I would pay zen for that.

Yeah, I'm not sure I see what the issue is. My 150 Lobi got me access to this gear two seasons before those who weren't willing to pay the Lobi, and I'm fine with seeing the Mk XII crystal suit transition from the Lobi store to the rep system to make room for new lobi stuff. They can't keep adding stuff to the Lobi Store forever, and the only other (BAD BAD BAD) alternative is to retire the stuff so no one can get it.

Now, lets get our Ferengi rep system going so I can unlock all the neat Ferengi costumes and stuff without paying Lobi ;)

I would kind of expect/hope that if they did put the Mk XII Crystalline Shell in as a reward, that the current version gets bumped up to Mk XII Ultra Rare or is otherwise redone as "Prototype Crystalline Shell".

Partially because, yeah, people did buy it with lobi. Partly, though, because I can't see a good reason to take it out of the lobi store. Then people won't buy it. Why give them for free what they would otherwise have to buy?

One look an I was instantly turned off.

Because 1) I have 0 interest in more grinding (especially on multiple characters (more Dilthium sink)), and 2) it mentioned Nukara, and I LOATHE NUKARA!

Anyhow the Tholian Reputation abilities and items offered look interesting. Like the new Auxillary Power bonus. And I hear many people are disappointed about the EVA suit set that once was in the Lobi store has been moved. And while I never bought it, I have to agree.

But the T3 and T4 abilities were switched, not sure if they were really ground or space. So this needs looked at.

So there's a Tholian reputation passive you can selevt which makes Aux power boost your weapons training, energy weapons and projectile weapons It amounts to +25 each when max Aux power. Does anyone else have a problem with this, since only the Vesta uses weapons that run on Aux power?

Science ships need high Aux levels to get the most out of the science abilities.

I like the passive, as it gives Sci ships some more teeth. I hope in general there are some more buffs to Beams/Cruisers in specific, but I did not see anything particularly game breaking from the rep passives. Kinda neat to see them creative a passive that massively boosts one type of ship while still having utility to others.

    Hey all,

I had a quick look at the new reputation system over on Tribble, and there were a few things I noticed while looking at the new captain abilities.

    - One ability ignores 5% of enemy shields using directed energy attacks.

    - Two separate abilities at the same tier give one a bonus to offense or defense depending
    on Aux power levels.

I realize these just hit Tribble and are in the test phase, but you might want to check it out for yourselves and then weigh in. Hopefully, we'll be given a boost to T5 for testing purposes.

(p.s. Go Down Fighting only works below 50% hull now.)

    Cheers!

And that's fine. I'm talking about one specific sci ship that will now be overpowered because its weapons use Aux too.

Are you limited to one ground trait and one space trait?

    [edit]

Also, where the hell is the fourth science trait?

    [edit2]

[Photonic Capacitor]. More Photonic Fleet spam. Boo.

The [Conservation of Energy] power looks kind of nice for Sci's wanting to use powers that are heavily buffed by Particle Generators. Eject Warp Plasma, Gravity Well, Photonic Shockwave, Feedback Pulse, Tractor Beam Repulsors, the Vesta Deflector Death Ray console (QFFP), Tractor Beam, and Tyken's Rift. Don't plan on killing anyone with those last two.

[Medical Vanguard] looks like it'd be such a must-have as to get you laughed out of ground content attempting to be a healer without it.

Nice fail Crpytic! You now offer the lobi store set you buy for 150 lobi's for free on the rep system.

You owe me $40 worth of keys to buy the Lobi!

Grim: From what I've seen, you're limited to 9 traits total at level 50. No restriction on how they're divvied up between ground and space. Also note that these traits aren't final, as explained by a dev elsewhere; the 4th science trait probably hasn't been thought up/implemented yet.

The t2 tholian rep stuff looks pretty standard; additional hull vs. increased bleedthrough. I'm curious as to whether the t2 shield penetration one actually adds additional damage to each attack, a la DEM, or whether it just affects how much of an attack goes to shields vs. how much goes to hull. The t4 bonus will definitely be good for sci ships or aux-based healboats (like myself!).

That's kind of nice. You can get it whenever you want with Lobi, or grind out all the dilithium and marks necessary to get it from the Rep system.

Looks like it'd set a not-entirely-terrible precedent for the Temporal, Ferengi, and Jem'Hadar gear/rep stuff to come. Of course, they may go back and make the Lobi-store variants Technicolor-grade to keep them valuable with your gear getting buffed retroactively.

So that sounds like there's a good chance there will be a lot of traits, then. Thank you. Still poo on more Photonic Fleet spam.

It's definitely a nice bump for torpedo boats and mine layers! Not sure if it'll be enough to make me want to mess with Aux-cannons for the Vesta.
