Increased Lag after patch? (due to saucer separation and like powers - fix incoming))

    As I posted earlier in this thread (http://sto-forum.perfectworld.com/showpost.php?p=8871781&postcount=46), a bug with saucer separation and like abilities is the culprit. When a player activates a separation power, it seems to affect the game performance of anyone around them. The team is aware and working on a fix to implement ASAP.

    Oh...oh dear. I had just picked up the Galaxy retrofit on my eng with my vet token and was messing around with saucer separation outside of ESD. Um...uh...my bad? :(

    Ouch. So they're conserving numbers by having different patches on different servers numbered so close together ?

    the issues i have uncounted are severe lag during STF'S half the Romulus space missions are bugged and cant be completed and other space missions having the same issue as the stf's guys having trouble with changing uniforms and god knows how many other issues all of which worked before the server maintenance there's an old saying if its not broke don't fix it .some other issues we could live with but this is far beyond the scope of being able to play the game.
    the engineers need to test out this fixes before they bring them into the hollow deck that's what tribbles for as well as testing out new content its time these guys used that so we never have to face this sorta problem again.

    Well, I do not know what Cryptic's actual number sequence is, but if one thing accidentally does not get updated to the new branch number it can cause odd problems.

    Of course Brandon just posted that it's a bug with Saucer Separation, and the like. Geko was recently talking about changes to Saucer Sep on twitter and how it could work. So some of the new Saucer Sep branch code might have accidentally gotten onto the server. You never know.

    i would like to point out that its nothing to do with saucer separation i for one do not have that skill and i did a Romulus mission solo and the lag was still there so the problem lies elsewhere
    and the last STF i did no one within the team had the saucer separation but still the game was that bad the whole stf was bugged to hell. the gate was killed before everything else that's how bad the bug was and half the time the team was all dead and basically became a tag team to destroy things on a sorta solo job.
    you need a cryptic engineer to log on the game join a stf so they can actually see the problems that's arose to get a bigger picture of the issues at hand.
    this is the only way to go in seeing for yourself what as arose within the game
    then its down to sorting everything out on the engineering side like codes and other bits n bobs to get these bugs and issues fixed.
    in the mean team hope it gets fixed soon i am off now to go play something else that's playable.

    Did you actually bother to read what he posted?

    Every time someone uses Saucer Sep in the game it sends a tremor through the Server. You do not need to be the one using the Saucer Sep. There might be 1,000 people all using Saucer Sep on the server at any given time. The lag goes to everyone. It has nothing to do with whatever you are doing in the game.

    Last night it booted me out of the game when i finally got a working Tholian alert. And just now,in ISE the entire team was at about 2 fps. And I had to ctrl alt delete just to get out of the instance. I understand things happen beyond your control but ,IMO In cases like these , you should just give us the win. Its also beyond our control that you are having issues. Just a suggestion.

    I have no idea what the deal is but since this last thursdays patch i get randomly lag like crazy. So much for server stability improvements....:mad:

    Something's definitely up...I've start crashing again, and have not made any changes to video settings...hasn't happened like this for week. Froze my rig 3x in a row...Eve seems fine :)

    Same here, severe lag, WHOLE team all at once, since Yesterday's patch.
    Affects multiple players all at the same time.

    I hope they fix this TODAY.
    If this lasts the whole weekend, it's going to affect A LOT of people's playtime.

    Yeah its definetly the server , doing tracerts imo is just a waste of time , It doesnt take Sherlock Holmes to figure this out. I mean really whats more likely, that all of our connections are screwed up , from all over the world causing this issue, all at the same time....or the one thing we ALL have in common. But what do i know, and who the hell uses common sense these days

    what i have seen is in the middle of SB24 or fleet alert : Lag then the program freezes i have to go to task manager and shut down the STO program

    NEVER had to do this b4 the last patch

    I may have found a connection. I have noticed the lag too, but i have found that it may have to do with saucer seperation. I've noticed that when I use the ability the lag starts up, but if I die or reconnect the saucer, it seems to stop. It's not just on my end. Everyone on the map lags and recovers with the saucer.

    Again, it's a known issue that saucer separation and other ship detachment kills the game if you don't disable ALL visual effects from items such as the Borg console, and just about any endgame set. It'd be really helpful if you read previous posts before repeating the statements made a few pages earlier. *sighs*

    ya know after i put money into game im now getitng uissues it begins to fell like fraud...take out money and then TRIBBLE us for playing....
    being nice about it...well i tried ....what the hell is the issue now.
    if you dont fix this i want my last 50$ i gave you returned to my credit card. ill go play a game that is stable.

    thanks to this,i already lost 4 stf's,all in bonustime,because i coulndt move,or even hit my hazard emitters when i got hit by an overpowered borg torp (Also something that you dont repair) and got killed,will i see those marks back? or my dill ( yup,i said dill,can you please shut the alarm down?) ? no,i dont see it back,so please repair the server INstabbility, because this isnt fun.


    ps: do you players experience the same?

    i can conferm that the seperation powers is an issue because when i did ise with a peerson having a mvae i got dc'ed from the server once durring it and there was lag before the dc and after i logged back in and rejoined that ise before it was over

    I encountered the same issue ever since I tried playing an STF yesterday (around 7 pm CET). The lag issue seems to worsen whenever I launch the Aquarius Escort or do a Chevron Separation. Dying however seems to leviate it.

    As I tried to pinpoint the source of the issue I rebooted my computer, restarted my router, benchmarked my graphics card, tried another game to find out this problem is down to cyrptic.

    I have run a traceroute and nettest but I do not believe the issue to be generally server related as the pings are within normal parameters I would get from any US Server I connect to from Central Europe.

    I would really appreciate it if you guys hurried to do something about it. After all I am a paying costumer and many others too.

    I really wonder to know.U r tried to make better but u see all is worst then before.I just log in the game its almost empty lolz! All channel on earth space dock max 10-15 players.Sol system is same too.
    So r u really serious to wait next patchday at next week to try fix it or do something urgent as must be normal reaction? Just wonder to know...

    Brandon, I know this is far from ideal, but have any of the devs considered temporarily blocking all visuals while the fix is being implemented? I have a feeling there'd be far less complaints about that than about lag. :o

    Ok u moved my message to here I see...It's ok but now I see 40-45 players at Sol sytem channels and earth space dock.They were regular 10-15 players before maybe they r relog then who knows but c'mon do something and dont wait to do!The game is unplayable to for many players see that!
