If I were cryptic I would make it Remans and Romulans only. If people want something else they can customize a wierd alien themselves and look foolish.
Actually, Voyager first introduced the Hirogen. I'm pretty sure they didn't contact Starfleet from the Delta Quadrant, using something located in the Beta Quadrant.
Oops I didn't think you where on about the Hirogen, I thought you meant the Mazarites.
Though Hirogen territory's did spread into the Beta Quadrant.
Norway and Yeager dammit... I still want my Typhoon and Jupiter though. JJ Trek The Kelvin Timeline is just Trek and it's fully canon... get over it. But I still prefer TAR.

But the Hirogen are being hunted to extinction by Holograms , Liberated borg and Nausicans who think they are Predators
I think you gave me an idea for a Hirogen expansion.
You are a Hirogen fighting for its life and have to make a decision.
Continue hunting or have you and your crew ( and probably other Hirogen)
start a colony and later a empire.
I don't get you people. First, you nag incessantly until they give you your damned Romulans. Now you don't want to be a Romulan. What the hell, people?

One of the more interesting aspects of the Hirogen was just this, their conflicted nature and their difficult decisions regarding the future of their species. "The Killing Game" highlights this particularly well via the character of Karr, who feared his people were hunting themselves into extinction. I hope to see Star Trek Online stick to its established mythology and include the Hirogen as part of the Romulan faction. Exploring this conflict of loyalties offers the means to incorporate them into the ongoing Romulan storyline in an engaging way.

Nice stereotyping with 'you people.' For one, I'm not one of those people.
And I'm sure there are some out there who want to be a Reman or just
want to enjoy being a part of a Romulan storyline, without particularly
being one of the Romulan species- that aren't exactly distinct to elves.
Not to offend anyone who does want to play one, I'm just not that into the species's look.

And how would that even work, anyway? I think it would read as awkwardly as those Klingon episodes do when played with a non-Klingon. Awesome Klingon episode...terrible KDF episode.
But you feel the need to include yourself with them to argue this point, despite not being one of those people.
That option has quite reasonably been offered already, given that there is support for their existence as part of "Rommies".

Why are you even in this thread? you've said here that Legacy of Romulus will:
How can I expect anything constructive to come from you with that attitude?
Actually, you know what? I'm simply going to forget about this, it's useless
arguing with someone who is out to belittle anything that doesn't fulfill them.

Fulfill what? I wasn't asking for any fulfillment. I am satisfied with things as they are, as I understand that improvement is physically impossible and things can only get worse. Any change necessarily increases entropy, as the entropy of a closed system always increases. Therefore, the situation can only get worse. We see this every Thursday.
As for constructive, hey, I don't work here. I don't get to make any input into the system, it's a closed system. Thus, it will automatically get worse.

Urgh, the eternal pessimist with the habitual behaviour of using retorts. Great.
Well lacking direct information that the Remans are a separate species I'm sticking with my belief that they're actually Romulans who settled on Remus.
Like the Romulan Alliance System? Of course you do, it sounds fine to you because you aren't Romulans, you're FED or KDF who are going to make a Romulan alt, it makes a HUGE difference in perspective.

I agree, this angle would make for an interesting story.
I have this one Star Trek book that tells of how the Hirogen were in fact the same species that built the ancient comm network, but they were devastated by the Borg.
The Hirogen today being descended from a few ships that evacuated their homeworld, their entire culture was ruined and became based around the hunt, borne from the fact that they were once hunted by the Borg and never wanted it to happen again, their paranoia overtaking them until everything was based around hunting others.
I think it'd be interesting if they incorporated some of that history into the game.

Alien creator is too limited. Definitely.

Didn't I say essentially just that? Don't beg.
It's alright. I'm teasing. I think it was a great idea.
at least there is an idea for future Star Trek Online:)

Speaking of future STO.
how will the game look like in 2026 as a random choice.

So far this thread has made me chuckle, but this here made me lol.

Yes, for the lifetime of either STO or yourself, whichever is shorter.
Funny! The Romulans and Remans are a bit like that at the moment.
The Hirogen might just have reason to fit in after all. :P
At the very least for the sake of ideals.
