Too much time buffing useless shiny new ships, not enough time working on server stability.

Its quite novel trying to set up a mission with your fleet, then half of the roster disappears simultaneously. I would love to know what their definition of resolved is.

You people whining and crying and blaming cryptic need to take some networking lessons. It's not cryptic, but their isp or one of the ones on the way. The servers obviously arent crashing because not EVERYONE is getting kicked off, and there's little cryptic can do except ***** at their isp to fix things faster...

    So.... chill.

They might as well turn tribble into another live server, its not like much bug testing goes on there anymore.

And you know this how? It could be an upstream provider issue, but it could very well be an issue within their data center(s). You seem to think "network issue" only means ISP issue.

As for "whining and crying" to Cryptic, they are the provider and we are the customers. Even if you're right and the problem is something 3rd party, it is Cryptic's responsibility to get it fixed.

I'll remember that when I'm hosting a Pay per view boxing at my house and my cable goes out and I need to fix and not the cable company.

Huh? In that example the Cable company is still the provider and you are the customer. Why wouldn't you ***** at the Cable Co.?

You folks are lucky. I was disconned at least 20 times in the last 4 hours and my game is so laggy that I can't even fight in the Arenas anymore. One second I have my foe in front of me, then after a very brief freezeup, I am suddenly 30+ KMs past my foe with shields going down fast.
But I shouldn't complain...one of my fleet's leaders has been unable to log on since his last discon...4 days ago. Fortunately, TeamSpeak DOES work and we are at least able to keep him posted as to what is going on.

It could also be that in the real world, nearly all of the trans-pacific cable links are over-subscribed for their capacity, and the only real solution is to lay more cables to meet the ever growing demand for more bandwidth...

As if Cryptic/PWE has control over current conditions, or can afford the multi-billion dollar costs of laying a new link...

Has a certain country in the Far East manage to have TRIBBLE the servers and are causing all this disconnection mayhem? Just sayin'. If they have managed to hack all over the US government and businesses, Cryptic would be childs play to them!

But a Ferengi would ask... "Whats the profit in doing this"... And if the Servers were TRIBBLE, then all US players would be affected, which is simply not the case here...

I've done several tracert's this morning and every time, the hold up is through the Boston connection...

Me thinks that the Internetz are at the point where that are just being overwhelmed and nobody wants to spend more money to put in more bandwidth.
(it's not just the the trans-continental lines)

I've had latency issues with all my favorite sites for months now, not just STO.

I've found the best time for me to play (with the least issues) is after midnight EST.

As some of you have reported, the server looks healthy, so this is most likely a networking hiccup as Champs is also affected. The team continues to investigate.

I'm having a persistent lag for over 2 days now. Based in Central Europe.

-/netgraph shows constant spikes every third to half a second
-ping spikes between 111ms to 700+
-Moving NPC's on maps jitters alot
-When huge mobs are on maps the green graph becomes a a square... I'm talking here lvl 8-10 in No Win Scenario

What I've checked so far was:
-started the game on another computer - same problem
    -switched 2 ISP's - problem remains (UPC and T-online)
-updated drivers for network and video - problem still there
-tried EU proxy - can't find the account server

    2 screenshots bellow:

    http://smokeweed.servebeer.com:48321/lag2.jpg

What else can I try? Can someone @Cryptic check this ?

    Thanks

    Possible Solution for EU players:
-set in your launcher to use EU proxy.
-add the following to the options window:
    "-SetProxy eu2.proxy.crypticstudios.com 80"

Note* eu1 is preffered by the client but it's not working.
the above ensures the client will always choose the eu2 which works.
US users might have the same naming, maybe us1 and us2
    might be worth to try.

As fast as these threads are created the Mods quash them... get out your tinfoil hat, guys, they're trying to keep quiet about their own failures.

I get disconnected about once every 15-30 minutes while I'm doing things (usually in combat), but seldom when I'm just sitting in space tinkering with Doff missions.

It's been bad all night (averaging 3-5 disconnects per hour), but over the past few hours it has been nothing short of infuriating. I have gotten a 'leaver penalty' somehow TWICE from disconnects and been unable to continue the omega grind AND NOW I can't take more than two steps on ANY character in ANY location before getting the 'server not responding' message. I've spent about fifteen minutes each on three other games recently to see if it was internet stability and have not seen any issues whatsoever.

That might be plausible if you're in Asia, but I'm in the U.S. and cross no trans-oceanic cables to reach Cryptic servers.
