I agree on both terms. Mostly likely Iconian Featured Episodes, IF there is a Romulan playble faction it would probably be released after the episodes are completed.
And yes KDF will once more get the raw end of the deal.

I disagree I think it will bode well for the KDF but time will only tell, and I highly doubt we are getting a Romulan Faction yet, may is just the start of the stories for what is to make the Romulan faction

I'm thinking we will be getting STF-like content themed to new romulus and tal-shiar friction. Maybe we get to pick a side and play some sort of mini-factions. But a fully fleshed Romulan faction? Don't think so. It was said that it will show the way additional factions will be added to the game, like cardassian, etc. If we were getting a full faction, how would it be different from Feds and KDF?
I rather hope for some content themed to Romulus and be surprised of faction content, but I won't hold my breath
it couldn't be a full faction like the federation, that would start a war. maybe the march date is when the faction hits, but in very limited form. then may will be a major content update to both romulan and klingon.
What if the Iconians have technology that allows them to warp space time and they cut a deal with Sela to bring back Romulus has it was before it was destroyed provided that the Romulans serve them till death.
It would explain how a race that is now and endangered species would be able to make such qotes has " Our Shadows will block out the stars"
that would be super cool. i'd love to go to the romulan capitol undercover, to investigate nero, and eventually stop him, thus restoring the timeline and erasing jar jar abrams from history.
I'd like Romulan monster play where you buy to play as a Romulan faction with a minimal storyline, with the main fun being PVP against fleet starbases as an absurdly overpowered Scimitar protected by an attendant Romulan fleet, vs combined Starfleet/KDF defending fleet, because the situation is so dire..

thats an interesting thought. it just made me realize that being able to play as a super over powered killing machine against groups would actually solve the problem of getting super op ships in game. we could totally fly a scimitar or even a cube, and fight players as long as its not 1 on 1. when we fight a cube in an stf, it's 5v1, so maybe we could have new pvp stf's where it's like 3 cubes vs 10 normal ships.
If it is more than just an announcement - say, an announcement a a 5 part (one episode per week) Romulan/Iconian based FE series - If said series started on Saturday, March 23, 2013; the final episode would roll out on Saturday, April 20th, 2013.
Now, you might think that's too early still as the next update is due in May; BUT, it would leave Saturday, April 27, 2013 as a Tribble Test Weekend for the May update - which could then launch as early as Thursday, May 2, 2013. :eek::D
(All that said: Yeah, it's probably just the first release of 'official' info regarding the May Update, and if anything; we'll see the May update rolled out closer to the end on May 2013. )

On March 21rst the official teaser trailer will be released to us:

Meanwhile, a force of over 100 K'vorts, vorchas, negh'vars, and raptors lie nearby behind a moon cloaked, waiting for the Romulan p'tahk's to begin transporting their shock troops down to the surface. As the ground invasion begins, the Klingon general leading the fleet orders his ships into position and issues the following order.....
I am quite concerned about this. Going "out" so soon suggests "season 8" could have been rushed. I would of preferred to see it in may along side the film (IE: release on the 17th May)

Maybe she found new allies, and have them come back with her. It's Sela after all.
I seriously doubt she could ally herself with the Iconians, except if she plan to betray them. It's kind of obvious the Iconians want to take their revenge against the galaxy, either by exterminating or enslaving us, or whatever. And a false treaty with the Tal Shiar will not stop them to do as much to the Romulans.
As a master of deception, Sela will probably see that to. So except if she plan to use them, or if she was brainwashed, she will not comply.
Maybe the Iconians, where they are, have ennemies, like the Undine and the Gekli. maybe she found those people and helped them, and in return they will help her.
I don't know for sure if she will be with, or against the Iconians. She may even come back to make a temporary alliance with the Fed/KDF, reluctantly. She will do whatever she think is the best for the Empire.
That countdown timer is really getting on my nerves. :mad: All it is doing is counting down to another huge disappointment.

I know a lot of people are saying that "It has to be something other than a new FE" and I understand why people think that, but would it really be that surprising to have that kind of disappointment coming from Cryptic?
I mean I'm not trying to be a cynic here, I love what they do and have done for the game but there has been moments of disappointment. I don't hate them for that, they've satisfied my hopes more than they have disappointed me, I just wouldn't be that surprised if it was an epic FE, and maybe it's just me, but I felt the Romulan FE was the best one yet and I took these teasers as building up the anticipation to continue that story line. Continuing that story wouldn't be a typical FE to me, it's something I've been craving since playing the Romulan Episodes.
That's just my opinion and I'm not going to say that I'm 100%, or even 50% sure it's not going to be a Romulan faction. I just think it's going to be an epic (and possibly game changing, story wise) featured series with kick TRIBBLE rewards.
Again, that's just my opinion. I expect something cool from Cryptic, but nothing on the scale of an faction.

on a side note, I'm against a mini-faction for the Romulans. It would feel so cheap to go that route, I'd rather let the KDF get their long deserved content and get a full Romulan faction than get a lock box with Romulan gear.
Cap increase, a little bit of story line, and of course New STF's! That is whats in your May update! Also, if your real lucky they will do the KDF stuff too.
What we all want it to be is a full fledged romulan faction on the level of the FED faction. I just don't see that happening anytime soon. This can't be that yet.
