game will not load

game will not load afetr pressing engage button, it will show the word cryptic across the screen but it will not load the game? anyone else have this problem? solutions?

Ok i reinstalled it now through Steam and it wont even connect to patch server now, what happened?

    This is happening to me on Trek and Neverwinter both. I got one normal game session, then but ever since all it does is go to the "Cryptic" screen, where I sit and watch the spinning circle and the unmoving progress bar until I kill it. When I use Task Manager to kill the program, it tells me that the game client is using about half a gigabyte of memory.

    I've been having this issue for several months now. Hit engage, game starts to load then stalls. Closing it out in TM then relaunching it seems to work just fine. My PC is a dinosaur though, so I am reluctant to point the finger elsewhere when it is likely my own problem. However, it is somewhat of a relief to hear that I am not the only one with this particular problem.

    A lot of people have the problem, and not all of them have older computers either. It was even worse before, though it is still annoying having to use that kludge even if it is less often now. There are a number of threads on the forum here about it, it used to be known as the "blackscreen bug". It would be nice of the devs could squash it completely instead of just making it happen less often though.

    Even more of a relief to hear. I do hope the devs find out what the problem might be and implement a solution.

    I've been having this problem for several months. Reinstalled the game twice. I have a new computer with specs decades above required to play the game. This all started after last patch and no answers from support. I can't even play the game anymore.

    Have you turned off On Demand patching in the launcher, turned on Force Verify, and tried again? Have you also tried running the game in Safe Mode? Also, I find with the launcher you have to let the game load all the way and not open or have open other windows which seem to interfere with the game getting through the loading screen.

No cryptic logo, no progress bar, nothing. Have to kill the process from the TM, then start again and it works OK. Dunno what is going on!!

    I have been having this issue as well...every time I play it fails to load the game on the first attempt. Like others I am having to use Task Manager to escape from the problem

    The fix for this is to start the game in 'Safe Mode' from the Launcher Options screen. Click Safe Mode then 'Save'. You will need to sort your graphics out when it loads in.

    This usually happens when there has been a driver update or such that invalidates your gameprefs file.
