    Motivation counts for everything.

Does a country want to help the African Nations because it cares about the people or because they want the untap oil reserves so they can line their own pockets?

Definately reaching on that one, but it gets the point across.

Oh, nice, the fleet missions will make fleet progression super easy now. No more endless and tedious mark run! :D

Actually needy people (having had interactions with them personnally) prefer honesty above everything else, as character is about all they have left.

More to the topic, how Cryptic handles this moving foward will say alot about its character. They can actually try to fix some of the games issues, or contiune to do nothing but release lockboxes and new shinnies with no new content or bug fixes.

This patch is a step in the right direction, a very small step but a step foward nonetheless.

Had you instituted these changes simultaneously with removing the foundry fm exploit, the only people that would have had a problem would have been the exploiters. Instead, your hasty action resulted in hundreds of pages of discord and mistrust amongst the playerbase. This is a positive step to be sure, but I'm afraid you've burned through a lot of your goodwill and it will take a while to repair the damage. I hope you learned a lesson on how to treat your customers.

No mention of the Jem HEC issues in my sig. Well, some fixes don't make it into the actual notes, right? Right?

Thank you, ladies and gentleman (ahem!) of the Cryptic team for addressing the Fleet Mark circulation issues.

I am, however, disappointed that these patch notes do not show an address for the nerf of the bio-neural warhead so many of us paid for. Very disappointed. What are your intentions?

With such an update we can probably get 400 or more marks in an hour, especially with pvp farming. I'm grabbing popcorn just to see that happening.

ROFL... Now if they made starbase progression based on how many accounts are in a fleet then I could just go and solo mine and not have to put up with drama fleets LOL.

It's nice to see there are gunna be additional fleet markies, butt how about the normal fleet actions like Gorn Minefield and STF's which you need to be teamed for? Maybe like 10 to 40 FM depending on the difficulty would be cute, for example Elite STF's 40 FM and normal STF's 20 and 10 for any other fleet actions.

To be honest I wouldn't be surprised if the next forum demand is getting fleet marks for complaining about something into Earth Spacedock chat. I wouldn't even blink.

While I am happy that the Fleet Mark reward has finally been added to PvP missions, I'm concerned that there may be a large increase in AFKers... :S

I hope Cryptic can address this issue soon!

Thinking about it from their point of view I guess it makes sense.
And that, is because they practice reactionary management.
removing from the foundry and replacing like this seems simple and easy to us, but i guess they would want a bit of time to see how many people go from using the foundry, back to events and fleet actions to gain their rewards.
Well, simply put, if the foundry has 0 Fleet marks to earn, EVERYONE goes back to the events and actions. They have no other choice but to do so.
its not quite as simple as we remove x amount, lets put x back in as that is not what would have happened, as people would have adjusted their earning habits over the last week to compensate and a good 5 or 6 days of metrics would be invaluable to them.
They would have earned significantly less as each event, on average would reward less per hour of game time in comparison.
they want to strike the right balance between players needing them and having too many, as that would also have a negative impact on the events if players are awash with them.
if, this is the case, then I fear again, they've swung to hard in the opposite direction. Also consider they said people are "starved" for fleet marks. Given that statement, This indicates to me, they realized exactly HOW starved they were, and reacted
so its a pain for us but its important for them, otherwise you run the risk of getting it badly wrong and having to adjust again the following week.
Clearly, given 2400+ posts, a lot of anger, frustration and hostility toward them, couldn't be much worse than having the solution in place BEFORE the removal could it? I think not. if they had dropped this in, with the IOR removal, you'd have heard a few complain since they like the foundry, but it would have been much less than what they got.
the whole thing could have been handled better and less vague about their actions, and also players could have been a little more patient and understanding of the reasons but i can see the logic of doing this in stages.
I agree they could have done much better PR, but its crystal clear to me, they have no ability to do the kind of relations they need to do, History, and their actions have proven this to be the case time, and time again.
Flat out, putting the single best way to obtain fleet marks, dilithium and EC, into the single most exploitable section of the game, then removing it, because of "exploits" isn't management, its reactionary. This, is another step in the chain.

Adjusting, and "correcting" would have been to pull the IOR, and put some back in, at the same time. Waiting a week for their much vaunted metrics to come out, see that its not enough, and adjust them upward. Or conversely, see its way to much and tone them down. Thats adjusting.

This, this to be honest, is whack a mole, and they're slow as hell with the hammer, and keep missing the mole.

When I learned to fly, One thing my instructor told me, slow and steady changes, are always better; react rapidly, when needed, but only then.

As I've said, and have others, this is reactionary management, to think otherwise, is to completely ignore the monster of a thread that occurred over the weekend, and the admission from the EP, they over did it.
Next time you log in, ask yourself this.

I do agree with Cryptic on the point that only Fleet Events should really award Fleet Marks. It makes the first group oriented missions from season 6 a waste of time for them have put together if no one is doing them. The adventure zone fleet marks are understandable they are lower if you do solo ones and they gradually go up if you group to do them.

The only thing I would say though is possibly make the KDF one about destroying a freighter, revamp blockade there are too many people below average intelligence that don't understand what they are suppossed to do... If anything make it where the KDF blows up freighters and not guarding them lol.

nah, that would make it too easy...after all, any idiot can fire a weapon; of course, the weapon tends to be much more effective if the person doing the firing actually has a brain

That's all I wanted, personally. Thank you.

Man, Nukara Prime might actually rule now. I may just have to go after that Tholian ground set. I always liked the missions but found the rewards too skimpy in the past.

Also, anyone want to guess what the gap will be between "people that can find time to post complaints on the forum about how Cryptic doesn't listen to its players" and "people that can find the time to post a thank you when Cryptic listens to its players"? I'm setting the over/under at 500.5. Place your bets.

That's actually kinda generous. You know the drill around here, though. "Shoot first, show gratitude.....whenever."

Far too often, Cryptic's efforts at balancing their game and managing their players have the flavor of taking a whack at a spinning top with a hammer, waiting for a bit, and then whacking it on the other side with a slightly smaller hammer.
