From the first page of this thread.....

"Remove all rewards from Foundry missions, at least until a better means of sifting through the missions is found. I consider this to be a fairly draconian solution to the problem, but may lead to less hatred after the initial storm blows over. "

"There is serious wisdom in this as a short term solution."

And you may find this familiar from the second page

"Both systems of rewards worked against the story-tellers, while working for players who needed stuffz in the least amount of time for the most amount of stuffz.

If there is no alternative to that trap, then I say remove the trap."

For some strange reason, some of the supporters of this debacle expect us lowly masses to be devoid of reading skills.

My KDF fleet Beautiful Orions will do just fine without this because we actually run the Fleet mark events together as a fleet. We do the 20 man starbase defense flawlessly and thats around 100 marks per person for 20 people each time and we can get groups for this together several times a day if needed.

The idea behind having a fleet and starbase is you are supposed to grow your fleet big enough so you can also do stuff like this and not have to rely on the public queues.

Would some of you be happy if they put fleet marks back, but set them to scale with dilithium rewards?

The trick might be if the scaling rewards length.

    Ex:

    15 min mission = 10 FM
    30 min mission = 30 FM
    45 min mission = 65 FM
    60 min mission = 100 FM

This would grant FMs, but at the same time encourage the play of longer stories, since repeating a boff grinders would earn less than sitting down and playing a story mission. Or it would encourage some authors to make long and epic grinds, instead of ones where you lay behind a fence and shootz stuffz.

No, don't like it, ad you gave them a very bad idea.

Ok WTH. I thought now ALL foundry missions would be applicable to this new scaling rewards system. Well, I just did one and it gave me nothing! So apparently not all missions qualify for this new system of scaling rewards based on average time, but now there is no way to determine that unless you waste time doing it.

    Wow, just... wow.

I actually kinda liked Enterprise except for the last episode. But Enterprise seems to be Star Trek's red headed stepchild and good for a chuckle.

I thought STO was the red headed stepchild?

Oh gawd. Lolz. I think STO bests enterprise if only for that awful and cheesy Klingon opera that plays when you turn on the STO music. I'll take faith of the heart any day over the Klingon opera. Oh gawd, I can hear the Klingon opera playing inside my head. Take it away!!!

If by spotlight missions they mean only the ones that take an entire 45 minutes to an hour to complete unless you're a tactical officer then no thanks!

I skip over regular dailies as it is due to the time consumption for completing them like the Traelus Sat repair.

I tell yeah what we do need, More read alert missions. And by that I don't mean the borg I mean protecting ships, convoys, medical ship escorts, supplying starbases etc, simple 1-2 punch missions that we must fly to a certain sector and complete for dilithium. That would solve the problem. No queues, no long drawn out missions with extremely complex text to thumb thru, just plain old fun. FM's for the dailies would be nice.

I want in before this thread is shut down!!

Just so you all no for the first 4-6 weeks of starbases - the only way to get Fleet marks was - FLEET MARK MISSIONS!!

    Holy short memories Batman!

Which was one of the reasons they added them to The Foundry. There weren't enough then, and still aren't enough places to get them...

I think they still have the 15 min avg minimum playtime to qualify and then the reward starts from there on a sliding scale based on length. I was playing shorter missions that were qualifying but the reward kept getting smaller until the mission no longer qualified. I was avg 8 minutes. I was trying to see if the min time was still required.

NO FMs in the Foundry then no more Foundry missions for me and everyone I speak with in our fleet.

why, why do they keep making the worst changes, they have already chased off many people.

Do they have so much money now they want fewer customers because its to much to handle.

Is that the piece of music that plays when you pop out of warp sometimes into a combat area (with the dude that sounds like he's getting stabbed or something)?

I don't think there are fewer players on the game than there used to be, but I think fewer regular players will be playing with the recent changes. I think PWE/Cryptic is getting more players but they are cycling through new people... I think there is big difference between captains and active captains, in other words, retention doesn't seem to be a priority.

You just selectively quoted me out of context. The sliding rewards is the solution, otherwise... my suggestion.
If the devs are incapable of adding in a rewards system that rewards a player more for playing an epic 90 minute story v. a short grinder, then all they are doing is privileging the short grinder over the 90 minute story.

It's the same story with the clickies. The clickies were privileged, before the community was blamed for not policing itself.

Both systems of rewards worked against the story-tellers, while working for players who needed stuffz in the least amount of time for the most amount of stuffz.

If there is no alternative to that trap, then I say remove the trap.
