You ignored his post entirely to focus on 'Projection 101'. And also, sorta how you've ignored half of my posts here on this thread
Not really significant by itself, but an interesting observation.
I summed his thread up, simple as that, and the sum was accurate. I placed grey font color to add more effect to the post, if you didn't notice that it was grey ;3 there is a reason for it hehe. Furthermore I don't want to place too much time replying to nonsense.

Admirable on the nonsense aspect, I'll give you that, even if we never see eye-to-eye
Was named Trek17.
Been playing STO since Open Beta, and have never regarded anything as worse than 'meh', if only due to personal standards.
Then let us just leave it to time and pray that we don't have another repulser style death bomb. The ship stat/slot wise, no matter how you look at it, is unbalanced. I can't see how you can argue against that.
the 8 weapons is a bit silly, but the most that will do is add another turret with another 2% or 3% damage. the hull and shield mod might be slightly to high as well. but nothing about it says high tier tank, high tier healer, or high tier debuffer. its sort of a high tier damage dealer, if you dont count on target up time, which it will have very little of in a dog fight. also no 2 AtB capability, that what makes ships like this with a wide variety of station powers truly deadly, and it cant use that.

I also have ways of fighting with escorts that would scare you, that don't require direct targetting.
Also, It isn't turrets I am worried about, it is mines ;3 Although you can do some pretty scary things with turrets, but when it comes to escorts + mines... arg. hehe, 3rd device slot ftw?

Sorry but I think my post sums you up more accurately Mewi. You'd be happier in a community where everyone agrees with you. You seem to have a closed mind to other peoples opinions. Therefore I reckon you should make your way to the Collective and make yourself at home as soon as possible. For your own sanity's sake that is!
Furthermore I don't want to place too much time replying to nonsense.
Well... I don't want to place too much time replying to you seriously (hence why most of my posts to you contain humor/nonsense)... Because I see most of what you have to say as complete nonsense and disrespect toward other peoples opinions!
There is already a vocal cross-section of the community that holds the cruiser as a second-tier class thanks to the growing tendency to favour DPS builds... The recent appearance of 'Destroyer' types certainly reinforced it, and now they've given us an... escort, with a cruiser's weapon layout, room for multiple hard-tanking powers, good turn rate, and DHCs.
I mean... this thing is truly fantastic, but I hope it's not going to set a precedent that could render every other ship in Tier 5 obsolete!
i hate to break it to you 'nanner nanner lol pvp sucks' pve'ers, but you are playing a game built for pvp with a bunch of pve stuck in it. the 3 ship types are obviously built to have strengths and weaknesses and meant to work together to combat each other. you all hate pvp because you wouldn't last 5 seconds against mewi or my self, you cant even use your ships to 10% of their potential. i honestly have no idea how you can stay interested in this game by just playing the pve, the npcs you face over and over are horrible, and have trained you to be horrible as well.
but do not fear, learning how to actually play to your ships potential is very easy, and pvp'ers would love to have you join our ranks, you just have to be willing to learn, and willing to listen. based on most of the attack comments to mewi though, i dout most of you are capable of that
When a five-year-old throws a tantrum, calling his teachers names and insinuating they eat boogers, how often does the teacher stop and say, "Yeah, this kid is right, I should stop eating boogers and act like less of a doodie-head"?
The answer is no, they don't. They either ignore the little brat or punish them somehow.
I've found that most of mewi's rants are akin to a five-year-old throwing a tantrum over something they don't like. Only, of course, mewi is far more eloquent, though equally as tactless.
First, this "they lied" line is largely false. Cryptic has lied about anything at all a grand total of twice, to my knowledge; once about STF dilithium at the start of S7 and once before STO even launched (lol Klingon faction and exploration). They have a pretty solid track record after that, if you have an iota of intelligence and can read the fine print. They take pains to make quite clear that plans change, and often. Ever since Dan came back they've made an effort not to set anything in stone (STF dil being the only major slip). Even before that, in the days of the Engineering Reports, we were told point blank that nearly everything listed on those was subject to change as plans shifted.
Nearly nothing I've ever seen touted as lies on this forum has been anything more dastardly and underhanded than development priorities changing a bit. It takes a special kind of cynic to twist that into something evil.
The greed part is also pretty funny, if slightly closer to the truth than "they lie". They have to make money somehow, so as in-your-face as lockboxes are, they are a necessary evil, greedy by nature but needed to keep the game afloat. But where else is this greed surfacing? Dil costs for fleets and Rep? lol no, you can get all that for free. There's no greed where the choice is pay up or play some easy content to get what you want for free. The only other potential argument for greed lies in +1 and Fleet ships, but even that is mitigated by the fact that by way of the DilEx, you still don't have to pay unless you want to. The system cuts both ways in a pretty balanced manner that, incidentally, is swinging wildly in favor of people who'd rather grind dil than drop cash.
*takes a deep breath*
Here's a list of stupid things I think Cryptic's done to balance the above:
Selling +1 ships to start with was stupid.
Pulling Dil from STF's at S7's launch was monumentally stupid.
Basing Mk XII set gear acquisition on luck was stupid.
Pulling the 500 marks reward from the 500-day vet reward with no immediately clear equivalent replacing it was stupid.
The repeated nerfs to Science is stupid.
The Borg insta-kill invisible death balls are stupid.
Nerfing the Borg set the way they did was stupid.
And most importantly, not having a Ripped TOS shirt available at least in the C-Store by now is stupid.
Well... I don't want to place too much time replying to you seriously (hence why most of my posts contain humor/nonsense... Because I see most of what you have to say as complete nonsense and disrespect toward other peoples opinions!
Do you mean to tell me, you made serious attempts in the past?

Ironically, most of your "cryptics bad ideas" are things I have complained about in the past. However the Borg Set nerf, was required for improved PvP balance, although wasn't done to the effect I was hoping for when I started arguing for a nerf on the set, my primary concern was the Hull proc, they instead went after the shield proc. The more borg set dies, the better it will be for all of us, just means more variety in the game~
Not that I really care to respond to your post, but I am waiting for a timer in another game, so why not? Also being the Eloquent 5 year old that I am, I'd recommend you become a PvP regular, or a KDF player, and you'll see nothing but lies, every month.
Did not find this ship so OP (and btw I do PvP a lot). Of cours, we will sometimes encounters few powerfull guys with it, and will maybe be kicked by them, but all in all, I'm pretty sure that I can manage a fight against this beauty (and as a lot of people told you before, I can't wait to blow it up).
Btw Player versus Player need winner and looser, and we can't always win. We have to adapt and to think our strategy/build etc.... If you're juste here, around, for that : Always winning in PvP (or at least never be defeated by any noob) maybe you just have done a mistake on the game you choose, it is Star Trek Online here, a mainly PvE and Causual game, not some sort of EVE for Pro-Pvper. In Star Trek pvp is just for fun, there is no big deal if you win or loose and this is a way better that way in my opinion.
And in addition, why are we arguing with an angry dude who use an Emo manga girl pink banner ?

And there's another one; avoiding all logic in favor of what they want :P In this case, trying to hide your answer to my question
I find it unfortunate that I have to explain my posts to you. Perhaps you need a mewies translation device? By saying [ logic ] [ /logic ] I am stating that your post, was void of logic. Obviously.
Take your PvP someplace else. You have both derailed this thread enough at this point, and you both sound like petulant children who just need to have the last word in your petty little argument.
Not a single one of the rest of us, gives two piles of TRIBBLE, about anything either one of you are saying anymore, because both of you have gone past the point of saying anything useful (one of you never even tried), and you are now just continuing to derail the thread for your own petty little insult contest.
At this point you have both made yourselves look bad enough. Grow up.
This thread is about the stats of the new ship.
AND on that topic.
I still think the thing is as ugly as ships get, but it does have some very nice stats. I am liking the 4/4 weapon slots along with the whole can load cannons. I honestly really like the stats. It's a good ship.
Too bad I will never fly it.
Oh, I'll do the winter event and get one, maybe even one for a couple toons.
But, to me, it's just a butt-ugly ship.
I have to echo a sentiment from somewhere above me in this thread.
Why couldn't the Galaxy Dread have a stat out like this ?
I mean , seriously.
And lastly, a question. In canon, the Klingon ships were resistant to the breen energy disapater. Will there be any way to reflect this in the game ?
Thanks for a great ship, Devs.
Sorry I'll never fly it.
Avoiding irrelevance? Not really a difficult task. ^.^
If you had found any irrelevance in that very relevant comment I would forgive you. But seeing as there wasn't any irrelevance in my very relevant comment I will consider your comment irrelevant until you discover the relevance of said comment relevant!

Well in all fairness, I did state this was a weakness of mine somewhere I don't deny that's my fault though.
Mewi though... I can't tell if she doesn't notice or care, and she hasn't apologized, but I'll stop right there. There has been enough of that already, you're right.
I definitely like the ship's stats though, even if not for the look. A nice destroyer type, though I won't be getting it, but I know others will enjoy it

It is an old battle against rational or irrational thought, usually always revolved around one topic: The competence of Cryptic, that would be the center of why we argue against one another.
Now he can say I am irrational, or I can say the same, but who is right?
Only the facts can say, and those facts clearly state, the recent stats and consoles of newer ships, doffs, etc are throwing the game balance out the door. If you don't try to get Cryptic to balance this mess in a rational manner, it will only get worse.
Will you people not talking about the 27th S7 Blog, the Breen Chel Grett Warship, and it's stats, please take your personal arguments/attacks to a different stage? If you want to explain how/why you think this ship is OP or not, or express potential build stats, that would be one thing to debate. Going on and on for pages about how much someone does/doesn't support/complain about Cryptic or if they do/do not reply to your argument, is so off topic is makes me LONG for a Report button.

Good point hippiejon! The thread has gone totally off topic and just let me say this...
It wasn't just Mewi and Trek21... it was me aswell. I apologise and I'm shutting up now. I've had my fun although I still reckon Mewi should not be so opinionated and respect not only what the Cryptic devs have done for us by giving us this freebie, but also realise that we all have our own opinions and not everyone has to agree with them!
Anyway... That's my two cents and sorry for my part in derailing the thread!

He is talking about ability to get a fast moving target in a 45 arc for Dual Heavy Cannons, you improve this by improving your turn rate. And AtB is Auxiliary to Battery, you'll find memorizing PvP acronyms really irritating, there is like a new one every patch lol. Personally I find it easy to just type them out.
a vet ship with a sci LTC sloted looks more dangerous to me. down on hitpoints a tad but with a more useful, minmaxable station setup. a vet ship with a LTC eng is stupidly more dangerous.
you know im usually 1 of the first to screech and howl about something being op, but i just don't see it here. was it you that insisted the fleet patrol was on par with the bug ship? im still trying to figure that one out.
the truly OP ships are the ships that do 1 thing well, that are further buffed to do that 1 thing well even more. the bug ship and recluse being the best at dilivering damage and healing damage respectivly, and the most OP in their field.
this ship looses what makes an escort do its thing well, and lets it do other things pretty good in exchange. in the end your left with something closer to mediocre then op. i see this as a fun ship that will fit my preferences well, a ship that can do most of everything, but not be a standout at any one thing. its not that at all. the 10 consoles, 8 weapons, its sorta needs that to be competitive really.
i mean, this ship cant even use 2 AtB. if it could, like the tac LT was a 2nd eng LT, then HOLY TRIBBLE ITS OP, with tech doffs.
Yeap. I've seen him use the OP words on many other ships in the past and tend to agree with him most of the time.

It's why just because you can use cannons doesn't always mean you should. More so if you don't know all the tricks.
Yeap. I've seen him use the OP words on many other ships in the past and tend to agree with him most of the time.
Her* but I don't think I've stated things as over powered too much, I did argue against the vet KDF ship as over powered compared to the fed vet ship, and the KDF being allowed to have maco shields as being over powered.
But generally I'm nearing the point of... what is the point anymore of trying to get them to do game balance? Their greed seems to be their only motivation, not providing content that will keep this game running in the long term.
It's why just because you can use cannons doesn't always mean you should. More so if you don't know all the tricks.
I don't know if you think that is what I believe, or if you are just saying it, ;p just to be clear, I like the unique approaches to weapon usage, over the limiting arc of DHCs. I was just explaining what dontdrunkimshoot was saying in context.
Dontdrunkimshoot, will you please explain this some more. What do you mean about the Chel not having on-target up time? And forgive me, but what is AtB, and why does not having two of it a bad thing?
Thank you.
like mewi said. if your DHC never run cold and keep a target in your sights, you will end up dealing a lot more contents damage to your target that they cant out heal. with 13 turn, thats far below the 17 and up of the best damage dealing escorts.
this ships will be nearly hopeless in a dog fight, it will have to rely on TB, and 2 APO taking up the COM and only LTC slots to compete. even then it will still be at a disadvantage, all the other scorts already run 2 APO. it is sturdy though, good hitpoints, and 3 eng, 3 sci stations. or 2/4.
aux to batt with tech doffs lowers the cooldown of all your running abilities whenever AtB is used. with 2 copies of AtB, you can have just about any station power at its global cooldown without haveing to double up powers. this is great on tac focused cruisers, and ships like this that have a wide range of station powers. but it leaves your aux in the toilet, and does nothing to make an escort hit any harder, they already have 2 of all the tac powers they need. or make a healer heal any better, a healer cant be effective without high aux. it sorta just buffs niche builds that before were underpowered.
It's why just because you can use cannons doesn't always mean you should. More so if you don't know all the tricks.
i would never recommend anything but DHCs with this ship, same thing for 9,10, and 11 turn rate kdf cruisers. but they have EWP and TBs for holds, and room for 2 or 3 turn consoles as well as full cruiser durability. make no mistake, the breen ship is a DHC ship.
Dang, I'm a little disappointed...I mean it is a good ship but I was hoping would be more sci based where I could make a awesome drain build...and maybe a hanger since the ship was known to have fighters. But other wise its a pretty strong looking ship.
Can't have a honest conversation because of a white knight with power

Mewi though... I can't tell if she doesn't notice or care, and she hasn't apologized, but I'll stop right there. There has been enough of that already, you're right.
I definitely like the ship's stats though, even if not for the look. A nice destroyer type, though I won't be getting it, but I know others will enjoy it
Been playing STO since Open Beta, and have never regarded anything as worse than 'meh', if only due to personal standards.
That is a guarantee ~

Please.
Dontdrunkimshoot, will you please explain this some more. What do you mean about the Chel not having on-target up time? And forgive me, but what is AtB, and why does not having two of it a bad thing?
Thank you.
You can find/contact me in game as @PatricianVetinari. Playing STO since Feb 2010.

Yeap. I've seen him use the OP words on many other ships in the past and tend to agree with him most of the time.

It's why just because you can use cannons doesn't always mean you should. More so if you don't know all the tricks.

Ah well~
I don't know if you think that is what I believe, or if you are just saying it, ;p just to be clear, I like the unique approaches to weapon usage, over the limiting arc of DHCs. I was just explaining what dontdrunkimshoot was saying in context.

like mewi said. if your DHC never run cold and keep a target in your sights, you will end up dealing a lot more contents damage to your target that they cant out heal. with 13 turn, thats far below the 17 and up of the best damage dealing escorts.
this ships will be nearly hopeless in a dog fight, it will have to rely on TB, and 2 APO taking up the COM and only LTC slots to compete. even then it will still be at a disadvantage, all the other scorts already run 2 APO. it is sturdy though, good hitpoints, and 3 eng, 3 sci stations. or 2/4.
aux to batt with tech doffs lowers the cooldown of all your running abilities whenever AtB is used. with 2 copies of AtB, you can have just about any station power at its global cooldown without haveing to double up powers. this is great on tac focused cruisers, and ships like this that have a wide range of station powers. but it leaves your aux in the toilet, and does nothing to make an escort hit any harder, they already have 2 of all the tac powers they need. or make a healer heal any better, a healer cant be effective without high aux. it sorta just buffs niche builds that before were underpowered.
i would never recommend anything but DHCs with this ship, same thing for 9,10, and 11 turn rate kdf cruisers. but they have EWP and TBs for holds, and room for 2 or 3 turn consoles as well as full cruiser durability. make no mistake, the breen ship is a DHC ship.
