Why must any NEW species for the KDF have to be vicious, criminal, or some kind of terrorist in space.

Hardly worthy for a proudful and honorable Warrior race. We Klinks may not be perfect, but heck our entire system is not based on being vicious with criminal intent.

    Just my two cents :P

TOS Klingons with no ridges should be an option.

    And plus one for Andorians.

Please tell me I'm not the only one who thinks that whatever the heck Isis was would make an excellent addition to the KDF roster?

    hi,

Now I'm Not Saying There Definitely Will Be A New Playable Species Available To The Kdf By Season 8, But Let's All Assume There Will Be And Gather Some Feedback For Cryptic.

Take Some Time And Have A Look Through This List Of Alpha And Beta Quadrant Species (click).

Now Simply Choose Three And No More, Then State Why You Have Chosen Those Species And I Will Update This Post To Show The Results.

Also Feel Free To Discuss Which Species You Would not Like To See In The Kdf, But Remember To Respect Other Forum Members Opinions. :)

    Cheers,

xindi-insectoid would be a cool and unique addition to the kdf. +1 vote from me. Remans should be added in there anyways. The tech is already there since there are reman boffs.

Sheliak, not sure how to get a uniform on one, but still. Very unique, the empire can trade worlds uninhabitable by Klingons in exchange for worlds that can be inhabited by Klingons.

Pah Wraiths, those beings mostly trapped in the Bajoran fire caves, inhabiting various alien beings.

Halanan from DS9, cool forked Elf ears, ability to pyscically project themselves like the Aenar, mate for life (or death of one partner) which creates an interesting counter point with the hedonic and pheromon producing Orions.

Isis was the cat that accompanied supervisor Gary Seven from his secret base to Earth on a 20th century mission.

Isis was involved in the 1968 sabotage and detonation of a nuclear bomb in the atmosphere just 104 miles above the surface of central Eurasia. This near-calamity made the rival governments cease, for a time at least, the deployment of nuclear weapons in orbit, and rethink their old strategy of "balance of power".

Though apparently Seven's pet, Isis was more: she communicated with him through a rudimentary telepathy, and understood his spoken words. She accompanied him wherever he went and watched out for him. Isis was also able to take Human form, though which of the two might be her original form (if either) remains a mystery. The one thing that never changed was the collar around her neck.

yes I already have one, but you still cannot make a Liberated species other than the base species.

So my original statement has not changed....

I submit the Vendorian's for the KDF. Not humanoid at all in their natural form. Something I think would be well-suited for animating in a computer game. They are shape-shifters. Who's history - according to TAS and novels - has them in association with the Romulans. And a home world quarantined - at least during the 2260's - by the Federation.

Place that homeworld closer to the Federation in Tau Dewa Sector Block. By 2409, I could easily see Vendor having been liberated from the Federation by the KDF.

It would ne nice to play another Borg assimilated species - it is a nice way to incorporate those oddball races like Cardassians, Breen, Romulan, etc...

Ferasan is the closest thing we will get to Mirak/Lyrans, the ISC lost their pacification campaign and left the galaxy if I recall, we might not see them again unless in STO we leave the milky way, and oh god no! Hydrans are some of the butt ugliest aliens I have ever seen in all of aliens in any franchise.

Besides Hydrans breath methane so there is really no way they could function well on KDF ships.

Not to mention Cryptic would need to get a license from Amarillo Design Bureau to use their stuff (and CBS agreeing to let them include it into STO, even though the entire history of SFC/SFB is set in an entirely different universe, or did we miss the entire "General War" that took place between 2271 and 2295? ).

The OP votes have been updated. Thank you. :)

Not sure why the Gorn are listed since they are already in the Empire. I would definitely like the TOS style of character model back as an optional choice, my Gorn would like to look more authentic and a lot less like godzilla and the same goes for my Gorn BOffs.

The Gorn are listed because forum members have asked for the missing variations of that species. The list is not made up of my suggestions but made up of the suggestions from each post in this thread.

i have the feeling you are going to give playable Romulans to the Feds and we, the KDF get some insectoids..

that way feds get cloaks and KDF can go burn themselves..

    am i wrong? please?

I agree, I would love the TOS look of the Gorn, but I will go a step further - introduce the original Gorn uniform, which were garments or Toga like.

I look at my Gorn now, and it looks like the Godzilla 1998 version that starred Mathew Broderick. A enormous, radioactively mutated lizard runs rampant on the island of Manhattan.

So yes I would love Gorn variations, and the Gorn Garments.

I would say the Talarians, but I doubt I would start another toon over it. The last thing I need is another toon in an under developed faction that sees little support from the game developer.

But when it is all said and done, I would be simply be happier with an Alpha War Targ combat pet...

Couldn't agree with you more... Though I do love the Godzilla (1998) look, the addition of new clothing options would be grand.

This thread and the suggestions within are based upon the assumption that a new KDF playable species would be in addition to more KDF content, such as new ships, clothing options, gear, missions, levels and pets, etc...

I simply wanted to help gather feedback on which species would be more popular and worth creating for the KDF. By doing this, they could potentially take the most popular votes and create an official poll which would reach the entire player base. OR just use the feedback from this thread and discuss options internally, they'll add their own opinions and decide if they have the time and resources to invest in the idea, and also figure out if the return is worth it.

    Humans.

Think about it... there are already DOFF assignments to help splinter/rebel groups of Federation folks, and you have to figure there's at least a few humans or small groups who have thrown in with the Empire, particularly during the brief peace between the two.

And hey, if you can have Federation Klingons, it makes just about as much sense to have the reverse.

(I currently have a KDF Human using the Alien option. My all-human away team:

Vendorians would make a nice addition to the RSE. :D

    Klingon Augment.

Increased intelligence... increased strength... increased insanity.

Actually I prefer Klingon Augment Retro-style ala TOS - we need those in game with PROPER TOS uniforms.

Also consider this for the Klingon Faction lineup:

    A) Sulibans

    B) Ferengi - Listen, Ferengi's are all over the universe as Traders, even selling of military equipment. It is only Logical that the Ferengi Species mingle with the KDF.

Heck there was even a funny episode in the DS9 television series that involved Quark in a Klingon House. :D

What would be the point? Hydrans are ugly as sin and they breath Methane, the ISC were a bunch of pacifists and would want nothing to do with the Empire, and we already have Ferasan which are based off of Kzinti which are feline based species like the Lyrans.
