    I am indifferent.

Unless it's a Science ship with a good Lt Cmdr Tac slot like it should be, then maybe I care a little.

She's still not a very pretty ship, but there are far worse in this game.

im pleased since it seems from the picture to be absolutely spot on , hopefully see more angles when they release the video from their visit to cryptic

only thing i hope , is that the patterning will be correct too ( since thats just the basic hull skin it seems )

Yeah, it looks like a modified reskin to me, too.

It will be :) It's still a work-in-process, and that's stated in the video James took.

    Cheers,

Is there some distortion in the picture? It looks like maybe the image is stretched horizontally (saucer slightly too thin, entire ship too long)

Hmmm...the nacelles seem off and too small for some reason. I do find it funny that that was the angle the screen was taken on, making it look like the Star Cruiser (especially with the small nacelles). If it wasn't for the fact that it has that Voyager/Intrepid-class style sensor cluster at the front I would of really thought it was just a reskinned Star Cruiser.

hmm compare it with this http://trekazoid.files.wordpress.com/2012/01/aventine1.png

    its saucer is pretty long
does seem a tad stretched yeah looking at it carefully , could just be the odd angle

I like the Vesta. There's just something about it, something I can't quite put my finger on. It's certainly one of the most iconic Starfleet vessels of the novel range. I can't wait to see this ship in the game.

I've always thought it looked like a starcruiser with longer warp pylons, never been terribly fond of it.

    THAT is the Vesta.

What's in the STO screenshot, on the other hand, is some kind of zombified Star Cruiser kitbash that only abstractly resembles the Vesta.

i dunno , if you look at the second screenshot , it does seem to be in the right proportion .
maybe the first one is distorted somehow

It had better come with a permanent slipstream drive. It was designed for it after all.

It was also designed with an 'I WIN' gun that could one-shot Borg cubes. I hope it does NOT come with that.

technically speaking it was the enterprise , not the vesta that was carrying the transphasic one-shot-death torpedoes in the destiny books ;)
it one shot a sphere , and that worked one time only , since the borg hadn't adapted to its cannons

From the little that is visible (curiously angled, distorted pictures - btw. reminds me of the first Regent pictures, those were terrible as well), it is a Vesta-class.

Now, however, make it look like U.S.S. Aventine.
TOIVA, Toi Vaxx, Toia Vix, Toveg, T'vritha, To Vrax: Bring in the Allegiance class.
Toi'Va, Ti'vath, Toivia, Ty'Vris, Tia Vex, Toi'Virth: Add Tier 6 KDF Carrier and Raider.
    Tae'Va, T'Vaya, To'Var, Tevra, T'Vira, To'Vrak: Give us Asylums for Romulans.

Don't make ARC mandatory! Keep it optional only!

As mentioned before, this is still WIP -- All the scaling, proportions, and paint job will be as one would expect, upon release.

    Only time will tell...

Given Cryptic's track record of making the ships look accurate. I direct you to the "Long Range Science Vessel" as well as all of it's refits, retrofits, fleet variants etc. FULL of inaccuracies.

So forgive me, if I don't hold my breath on your statement.

Some here don't seem to understand what 'work in progress' means...

Also, nice job on the model, Cryptic; the Vesta never really was my cup of tea, but the model looks spot-on, from what I can tell in the previews.

    Lol how true.... :P

Cryptic has very nice ship models the only issue I have with them is how off scale they are. (The Defiant is way to big)

I guess I should've put that it was a WIP shot but I've never been very good at pointing out the blatantly obvious. :D
