Subnuke doffs should be nerfed - PvP is nearly dead

Hello Dev's,
since the subnuke doff Halor Kurlam is on exchnage in masses (because of your Gamma Elite packs) pvp is nearly dead cos if a team is fully equipped with that there are 15 snb doffs. One can raise the proc chance by using faw. If a team brings it to the edge one get a snb proc every 8-10 seconds. So its useless to start any BO ability. The Game will be decieded in the first 2 Minutes and a gameplay is not possible anymore. Its more a kind of gambling, which snb doffs procs first. When there are phaser procs in addition you can calculate the chance of staying alive its like 0.
Therefore i want those doffs to be limited for at least 1 equip possibility per charakter or a nerf. The last thing i want is a complete removal for all snb doff but it will be best for the pvp.

3 SNB Doffs on an Escort= Remove all Buffs from the enemy about 2 times a Minute.
2 Escorts with that = strip you all 15 sec.
2 Escorts with that + 3 other Ships with 1/2/3 SNB Doffs = stripp you Buffs before you even start them !!!!

Fix it or PVP in this game dies a painful death!!!:(

SNB doffs were a stupid idea to begin with, & they have been implemented stupidly.
3 of them per ship? Really? I hope whoever came up with that idea doesn't have children, because those genes should not influence future human endevours. ( come to think of it, an idea this stupid could only be arrived at by consensus. This must have been a committee decision.)
Unless the idea was to destroy PVP, in which case it was genius. I am to the point where i believe Cryptic WANTS PVP gone, Completely. This would explain the way they have acted recently.
BTW PVPers, MWO is ALL PVP. So come join us in some Mech destructiony goodness.
The balance for MWO is better in Beta than STO is after 3 years.
    EDIT
Also, you don't have to gamble to get gear you want. You just buy it. No lock boxes.

TBF, crying because everybody now is using the toys previously reserved for a more illustrious circle....well

I just can't get worked up about the BS state of pvp balance. It is what it is...

See you on MWO, sooner or later, need some small gear upgrades before i can join the fun, GW2 might be interesting too.

We cried about it before it was widely available too. 10 months is apparently too long for some to remember. It is the current availability which brings the matter to the forefront, but that doesn't change the fact that they have always been unbalanced. Their rarity made us forget, that's all.

If I recall they were nerfed previously. And they'll be rare again, in a few more days.

What they really need is to grant an immunity after being proced so it isn't every 10 seconds.

I'd hardly call 22 million EC "widely available" but these things are total BS. I've seen some bad decisions in this game but these Doffs are probably the worst. Fed cruisers can't survive without stacking EPTS and other buffs, making the majority of C-store ships absolutely worthless in PVP play. They can't tank, can't do damage and in short can't compete. Way to TRIBBLE your customers team.

One of the balancing factors associated with the power of ultra-rare doffs was just that; their rarity. Given the extreme manner in which they've proliferated, and at such affordable prices (by PvP standards), I'd say this has gotten completely out of hand.

My proposal (which Cryptic probably wouldn't go for) would be to simply delete every single SNB doff from the game, and compensate everyone who bought one to the tune of 50m EC. I'd personally loose quite a bit of money that, and do appreciate the power of having three of the bloody things, but they're simply too good when deployed en masse as they are now.

for goodness sake... learn what a science team is...

Example: flying around in my escort, power up a could of things for a damage run (note not everything and certainly not tac team) get sub nuked, "Oh no... I've been sub nuked" hit the sci team, use the subspace jumper (of you have one) and alpha strike.

    PROBLEM SOLVED!

Wow you aren't very smart are you there champ.

Sci team doesn't undo the most damning part of SNB. Buff Removal.

No, that works with SNB. The SNB doff is a version of the Energy Weapons Officer. It doesn't actually apply anything to you that can be cleared. It simply removes your active buffs everytime it procs. As someone worked out, a team of 5 with 3 SNB DOFFs each will proc once every 8 seconds or so. Using sci team when this happens will do nothing but heal your shields.

Agreed, and for all of three seconds under that kind of concentrated fire and a lack of buffs. Sci team would be worthless even if it wasn't on cooldown, don't forget that Tac Team and Engineering team find their way into a lot of builds as well. It's crazy how powerful this proc is, if an energy type had it(even at 0.5%,that'd still be a 3.5% per second proc rate) I couldn't imagine running anything else.

Sci team dosen't help... The doff remove all your buff's and the Sci Team to. The only difference is, a regular SNB give you a Time count on your ability's. The SNB doff SNB do not that.

Won't be a big deal having only one in a team with them, but when you play premade all with subnuc doffs, that's really fun breaking... Even though their proc had been reduced, to .5, they are still pretty stupid to begin with, the only other counter is for you to equip them, which I'll probably end up doing as long as I keep playing this game that pvp-wise, gets worse and worse by the moment. Seriously, as long as the game designers do things like that with pve in mind, things just can't get better in pvp, and even if dstahl doesn't plan on revamping pvp, at least he could try not to break it worse than it is, and to consider the negative effects some of the newly introduced features in the game can totally TRIBBLE up pvp. To be honest, I don't even know why should somebody use subnuc doffs in pve... that's just not necessary...

I was thinking myself if this has the effect described to me it's not worth having in pve however if it's ok in a single case I should imagine cryptic would have left it alone as they are Vrare they would be few and far between and thus teams of 5 with max each would be a rarity at best, however if it has the potential to break any aspect of the game I agree with those who fight it

Cool and yeah, their rarity is what always kept them in check. However, they are now coming out of lockboxes at a fairly steady rate and their price on the exchange has dropped from 200mil to about 20. This has already led to encountering such teams in the queues. :(

    In my opinion
1- proc chance should be re-raised to 1,5% like it was when it was released, or even higher (2,5% like weapons).
2- proc should trigger an "buff removal immunity" of 45 seconds

I honestly don't PVP that often, but when I do, I've always used 3x Subnuke DOffs (on a Jem Hada Ship with the JH set, with a science officer).. it's always been fun, but today all I get is whining (never happened before today). That's my only complaint about this whole thing, last week, I could PVP without people calling me a cheater, and today, having not changed anything, all I get is horrible PMs :/

Between the combination of bug ships, SNB doffs, AFKers, lack of attention from Cryptic and premades trolling the queues, it's hardly a surprise.

They're just waaay too tanky for a ship with that kind of maneuverability and dps output. That's my only problem with the Bug.

Cryptic should just deactivate all doffs in PvP. No APO3, ET3 spamming, no BFI-Doffs etc.

Less variety in builds, but problem solved.

I should play MWO more often.

    1. DOff's should not stack, one per active roster, period.

    2. DOff effects should not be random, but automatic.

    3. DOff's should modify activated powers only.

    4. DOff's should not grant abilities, especially Captain Abilities.

    SNB doffs???
    Hahahahahahhaaaha
They sound insanely out of wack. What happens if you used then with Sensor Officer ability?
Is it the STO version of a complete shutdown?

This post is true in a lot of ways.

However, the fact the fleets who had them before this latest patch kept silent (they know who they are). This falls under their responsibility to report the over powered status of these doffs. Instead, they were monopolized by the use of bots and/or an enormous amount of EC to make them their own special weapon. Well guess what Cryptic/PW screwed all of your efforts in this endeavor.

The damage is done now and those fleets are disgruntled just as much as everyone else is. I think all PvP Communities need to unite and drop their animosity for one another and make a collective approach to what needs to happen.

I have taken upon myself along side with my small group of Turkish RP Heroes, to host a TS channel named INTERNATIONAL PVP. Which will host all PvP fleets in effort to not only have verbal communication with one another but a collective "Mecca" for all of us to convene, rather than bicker on a forum that is not even taken seriously. We as a whole can take it upon ourselves to create a collective community to make our own rules to ensure the enabling of both entertaining and balanced matches.

Now I understand the mere fact nearly, if not all PvP communities have their own channel of sorts. This is to address the times we have all logged onto our TS', Mumbles, and Vents to find nobody online. Sure OrganizedPvP addresses this function in textual format, but a verbal community will serve a more efficient method to achieve our collective goal. The goal we all want, is the reviving of PvP in Star Trek Online.

Mail or PM @PaxOttomana for further details. This is the best I can do as an individual for a community that desperately needs to drop its animosity and unite. PvP revival does not rest in the hands of the devs, but those who desire it for it to be revived.
