I have a request!
I would love to have ships/shuttles be placeable on indoor/outdoor ground maps, like in the LoR Elachi invasion where the Elachi ships fly overhead. It really would be a huge asset, and would make an invasion that much cooler.
Currently, when altering the states of an object you can add more than one condition to change the objects state. However, this condition is based solely off AND logic, i.e., all conditions need to be met for the state change to be true. Please add the option to coose between AND/OR.
- Copy dialogue tree
Please add the ability to copy and entire dialogue tree (popup or interact) to any other dialogue section
- Option to choose map based popup dialogue from story board as objectives
- Option to choose invsible objects from story board as objectives
so, when a mission is published the author would be able to set a TEST flag which would allow the author to test the mission. Once the flag is removed all of the plays and associated playtime stats which occurred while the test flag was set would be wiped. That way an author can test without worrying about messing up his/her playtime stats.
This would also work after a mission has been published and running for a while. If an author needs to modify and make changes to a map they could enter it into test mode and subsequently all plays during that mode would not be recorded once the mission is removed from test mode
I'd like to see some of the higher ups in Starfleet/KDF/Romulan Republic made available to use for contacts in missions. Admiral Quinn, for example.
Why not just have all in game assets available for the Foundry? That would be so much easier than having to filter them out.
Also, all of the C-Store ships. It gives much greater freedom to the mission creator, and acts as free advertising for the store, so it can only be a good thing.
What I would really love is an option to put the player's captain in as an npc. I mean that whoever plays the mission has their captain mirrored. This would be great, because how many Voyager episodes are there where either the crew gets duplicated, or the future version comes back to the past? This would be awesome for mission making.
I understand that multiple people can play the Foundry mission, but what if each person got it rendered as their own captain?
Food for thought...

They can't just copy and paste. They have to manually tag each asset for inclusion in the Foundry, and considering how many there are - and how little time they have - there's only so much they can add at a time.
"Critics who say that the optimistic utopia Star Trek depicted is now outmoded forget the cultural context that gave birth to it: Star Trek was not a manifestation of optimism when optimism was easy. Star Trek declared a hope for a future that nobody stuck in the present could believe in. For all our struggles today, we haven’t outgrown the need for stories like Star Trek. We need tales of optimism, of heroes, of courage and goodness now as much as we’ve ever needed them." -Thomas Marrone
Oh c'mon, 'manually' sounds sarcastic these days. Base-wide SQL broadcast or cycle for the files, could be.
Uh. . . what?
When I put an object into the foundry, where do you think it's name comes from? The description? That's not something that can be automated. If I have a lamp, and a starship, and I give both over to the computer to automatically enter, how do you think the computer would describe those objects? Would that description be at all useful for you?

Well, one could argue that it would be a wise idea to anticipate the need to include that stuff in the Foundry during object creation... :P
That said, maybe there's a compromise that could be made. Tag a bunch of objects, but have their names automatically set to the name of the model files.
Infinite possibilities have implications that could not be completely understood if you turned this entire universe into a giant supercomputer.

Hire more people to get it done, even if only on a temporary basis. I reckon every Foundry author out there will be grateful.
I would say well done on one thing though. All those ships added to Foundry in 9.5 is lovely to see

This.
Though, not sure how feasible it would actually be, this would be amazing.
Yes. That'd be great. And bridge officers, too - option to place a given bridge officer as an NPC, same as you can use them as the face on a dialogue (excluding ones who are on your current away team, of course).
Failing that, could we have "Captain" as an option for dialogue, alongside the bridge officers? That doesn't sound too difficult. Sometimes it would be handy - either for the evil twin thing, or when you want to have the Captain themselves say something cool that's too long for a reply button. In the one I'm working on, for instance, I have the Captain announcing "All hands, we are under telepathic attack... bla bla... This is not a drill". I'm using a Federation Console as the face for that message, meant to represent an intercom, but it would be better with the Captain's face.
Oh, and a little thing: I think it's been mentioned before, but please could we have the Section 31 coat and/or the time traveller jumpsuit added to the Foundry? I'm using a secret agent character borrowed from a fleetmate, and I'd like to do a proper job of her the way he intended her.

The Section 31 uniform is probably coming soon, since it placed fourth in the costume poll. The Wells uniform came in ninth, but the TCW one didn't make the cut.

It could be useful if we have at disposition the following
1. OBJECTS
Staircases
Weapon racks (with range weapons) of each faction
Ground vehicles (for example the Argo jeep. I know that Starfleet trains their officers to be in good shape so they can hike long distances or you can just beam down near your desired destination, but just imagine how would a story would look like with those vehicles; based on the fact that you are stranded on a planet where you can't transport site-to-site or you don't have a shuttle; and you have to travel 350 km...)
Peregrine fighters
Catwalks
Bombs (those charges that appears with the store's crates, but "we" just need the charges)
Industrial replicators
Automated Defense System (The turrets that we can see on Facility 4028)
Modern version of holodeck (IDK if you disagree, but just in case)
Captain chair. (we only have the TOS version)
More furniture...
2. MAPS
Torpedoes deck (Highly required for funerals to add a "grand finale"
Custom Indoor/outdoor option
All starships' bridges (that includes shuttles)
3. Functions (Edited, thanks wombat140)
All costumes that we have at disposition (C-Store/Lobby/STF/Fleet stores)
Ships animations (I remember that it was available previously, it must return)
Different animations for map transitions
Choose the amount of BOFF on map (seriously, there should be one moment of the captain's life to do errands without escort!!!)
Change the aliagment of NPC (making foes becomes friendly, and friendly becomes traitors)
Import/Export Costumes
Choose the combat method for encounters (melee-Martial Arts, melee-hand weapons and range)
Caiz, some of your third list aren't really assets, they're functions, and you're not the only one who's been asking for them. There's a separate poll going on for those at the moment, here it is. Voting's getting quite enthusiastic already.

A bit like the Mission to defend the Romulan Space Station? Where Each player sees their own character at the front of the group?
These are the Voyages on the STO forum, the final frontier. Our continuing mission: to explore Pretentious Posts, to seek out new Overreactions and Misinformation , to boldly experience Cynicism like no man has before.......

On that front, Could we get an object that simply makes the window show a Computer Interface? In Faction specific variants? And Maybe a version thats just Static, for broken computers and Interupted/ scrambled messages?
Theres many times when I want to use the Dialogue as an automated computer voice, or an Audio Only message and I have to use the Console that shows itself on the side and looks a bit odd

Good idea, the console gets the message across but a computer interface image would be much more stylish. Sounds as if it would be very quick to implement.
I did see a clever take on this in Adverbero's "Renown Rendezvous", which instead represented an alien ship's computer AI as a holographic face, resembling the aliens who built it but coloured blue and with the 7 of 9 eyepiece. I forget the exact details but you can see it in the mission.

Yeah, I kind of styled it after the Cortana Hologram from the Halo Franchise

Could we get this Space station from the ESD Space Map as a placeable space station asset please ?

Seconded. We need more neutral-looking space stations available to use.
The shipyards/drydocks would be nice too now that I think about it

I love the fact we can use "space characters" to build ships, etc but.... can we PLEASE mix'n'match the parts for an "alien" starship (much like we can withan "alien" ground character) to create a unique ship deisgn?
Could we get the season 8+ ESD map, as well as some more force fields (Borg force field walls, instead of these weird polygon thingies, and Federation/KDF force fields)?
Oh, and the Borg Bridge Officer costume as well.
