If there is one thing that I and others love about the game, its that we can play characters that until now have only existed in our imaginations and written stories.
What few do not know is that the central core group that start Alliance Central Command can trace our origins back to a group that has been around for over 20 years ... alt-starfleet-rpg.
From their website ... "Welcome to ASR, or simply "STAR FLEET"- a PBEM interactive role-play game made up around 100 writers spread across 18 units assigned to one of three distinct timelines. The ASR universe- the PRIME universe, as we call it- was created in 1991, and is set in a time period around 40 years after the events of Star Trek: Nemesis, in the Earth calendar year 2424."
Their stories all exist in a shared fictional universe where the player who writes the story weaves their stories into the overall fabric of the whole thing.
Now, we split off from them and created a group much like them called Star Trek: Frontiers which continued writing for several years under that umbrella ... and then came Star Trek Online.
For those like me, it was a chance to take the characters we have been writing for 20 years and reboot them into an "alterate" universe, not unlike what JJ did.
You see, 2409 was a time when for many of us ... our characters existed and advanced forward from. So we rewound them and began again with our stories still working together in a shared universe.
Yes, not all our players write ... but some of us do.
We created Alliance Central Command to exist as casual fleet where players co-exist and play the game respectfully side by side.
Some of us are solo players. Others like to group up and enjoy team play. Then we have a few who are into radio drama and podcasting with others of us loving to write.
What connects us all is that we enjoy the Star Trek Online universe and enjoy existing within it together.
What follows is from fleetmate, Rickpa, and is first person from one of his toons .... Pik'Paa.
More Tholian intrigue?
I am sick of Tholians!
Ever since I was plucked out of my time, they took my volition.... my honor.
I shall pluck them out of the stars until every last one is gone.
For the Kuvah'Magh couldn't save my noble brow.
It is said Tholian captivity did this deed!
This perversion of the humans.
Yet a Klingon heart still beats.
And my enemy was smashed like the arachnids they are.
Yet I remained.... stricken.
A curse overcome by our greatest warriors, Kang, Koloth, and Kor.
Their honor is forever within the very foundations of Sto'Vo'Kor.
For me, the road is different.
Yet, in their glorious shadows shall I persevere and prevail.
Tired of your characters always living in 2409? ... Well, our fleet recognizes the fact that the years have progressed forward since game launch with it now being 2412 for us.
Basically ... We love our shared-ficitional-universe and have begun work on the "Path Beyond 2409" which will be our fleet's own official shared canon timeline for us to enjoy.
Optional perks ... Our players also have access to their own blogs built into our community site which they can use to either share log entries from their characters or personal experiences / thoughts related to the game as well as personal galleries for sharing screen-captures and art related to the game.
Remember this ... The writing is optional within our fleet ... The having fun with the game is not!
For those of us within the Alliance, the Federation-Klingon War is a side note.
The true enemies are out there.
For us to continue this fighting is to pave the path of victory for
those like the Borg, the Undine, the Terran Empire, the True Way and all the others who are among our shared enemies.
So it is that we stand together and fight with honor -- Federation and Klingon forces alike.
Together we form the Alliance Central Command ... brothers in arms.
But a note to those out there who would fire on us. ... We might not fire first, but we will defend ourselves.
Qapla'! ... Glory and Honor to the Alliance!
If you are interested in taking the fight to the real enemy ... and enjoy living a good story ... point your browser to http://alliancecencom.com, register on our fleet forums and tell us of your interest in.
Wow! Someone pointed me in your fleet's direction tonight, and from everything I see here and on your website, it looks like exactly what I've been hoping to find, especially for my Klingon toon. Hopefully I can find someone online soon...

Welcome to the family. We've got you set up on our forums and invited in game.
Also, check out the thread you posted there as there you'll find instructions on how to accept the invite to our fleet's private in-game chat channel.
Our fleet leadership is currently in the process of fine-tuning our fleet mission statement and description to better reflect who we are.
We want new players joining us to do so because we are where they are going to be happy with no regrets later on.
Already, our description has been updated on Page 1 to better reflect us ... keep in mind, however, that it is a work in progress with wording likely to be tweaked a bit.
I am Maikell ir-Rahvan tr'Rheu ... Romulan by birth but made Borg by curse of the fates.
The last free thought I had was on the bridge of the starship upon which I rode, commanding a fleet that stood in defense of one of the Romulan Star Empire's outermost planets.
Our best defense proved as ineffective as if a child's pop gun were fired at the hull of a great and powerful warship.
Needless to say, we were ineffective against this unknown threat and could only watch helplessly as cube shaped vessels captured our ships and cut them apart one by one.
I still remember the screams as cries of terror that echoed across the bridge via the open comm channels.
Yet even knowing the darkness was coming for us was of no help, only deepened the terrors.
"We are the Borg," they said coldly, mechanically. "Resistance is futile ... Your distinctiveness will be added to our own."
My last thoughts were of my wife and our three children ... the youngest two of which were twins I have yet to lay eyes upon.
That was almost 50 years ago.
Since that time, I have felt as if trapped within a dream from which I could not awake.
The things I have seen and witnessed and saw myself do are ? Let me just say that I wish simply that I could forget.
However, one day everything changed ... on a day when a race I had never met unleashed a weapon aimed at the Borg cube upon which I existed as a drone designated 41 of 47.
On that day, we were freed from the collective ... casting off the shackles the Borg had used to surpress our individual and passionate natures.
One of my first awakening memories was the Drone next to me letting lose a scream of agony and triumph ... and fear and freedom all at the same time. I watched as the freed Klingon warrior ripped the metallic Borg ocular implant free of his own eye socket.
I personally could not keep from weeping as at long last I was free.
Together .. he and I ... Romulan and Klingon fought our way past confused drones and made our way to the outer hull and ultimately to freedom.
We were collected by a Starfleet vessel and taken to a treatment facility where we have remained for some time ... undergoing therapy to make sure we are free of the Borg's implants and recovering.
My companion, Rha of the Klingon House of Rha, left today to return home and find what has become of his family.
My own return home is delayed slightly as doctors tell me I have a few weeks left before I also can return to my family.
My question ... What remains of my old life these almost 50 years later?
It seems that while I have been away, my wife has chosen to play.
I received a communication from her today. She informed me that not only has our daughter successfully graduated from the Imperal Academy, but my wife awarded her command of one of the ships belonging to our house, the House of Rha.
Honestly, I'm very proud of my daughter, Lursana --- bursting at the seams proud.
But to place her in command of a cruiser? ... I admit I would have placed her aboard one of our ships as a first offcer, however, my Sa'LeI swears that I am simply over protective of our child.
My wife is quick to point out that Lursana has the blood of Rha flowing through her veins ... my blood ... which makes her an honorable warrior capable of handling herself.
And it would seem that ... yet again ... my wife would be correct.
Our daughter, Capt. Lursana, has already proven herself in combat.
She participated in a battle against the True Way, boarded their command ship ... and has brought it home as a captured prize.
Although my daughter was given one of the older cruisers within our fleet, I believe should she continue to prove as successful ... we will have to give her one of the new fleet ships currently under construction.
Glory to my daughter! Glory to our family! Glory to the House of Rha!
Our Federation-side fleet's Tier 3 industrial fabricator is currently just a few days from finishing with the project timer and spitting out fleet weapons for us.
Our KDF Tier IV fleet upgrade project is filling with resources fast and not far from being sent to timer.

Sharvic was late for class at the new Imperial Service University in Kah'Tal city on the beautiful west coast of Plek'Kaar on Rator 3. ISU Kah'Tal was an elite school, and Sharvic found the Quantum modification class to be the most fun that he has ever had in his miserable life. On the other hand, singularity warp theory was where he really shined, and nothing was going to mar his perfect grades. Well... that was about to change.
As Sharvic ran down the egress ramp from his housing cell, on the way to meet the ground transit shuttle, he tripped over an unseen form in the shadows, and went flying into a pile of environmental filters. When he got his bearings, Sarvic regarded the supine form on his pathway. It appeared to be a male, perhaps in his 90s. His garb was simple and hooded. There were some tears, and apparent plasma burns with congealed dark green blood caked on them. Interesting! They do not appear to be fresh wounds.
Totally forgetting his urgent drive to make it to class on time, Sharvic examined the fallen man. He appeared to be breathing, and as he drew closer, the fallen man opened his eyes. These eyes were not the eyes of one who was defeated or left to die, for in them was the recognition of a bright, and intelligent serenity. "Were you sent by my old friend Tuvok?" Sharvic was taken aback. "My father knew a Tuvok, but that was in a far away time, back when we had our home world." Sharvic had no idea where those words came from, but in speaking them, the course of his life was forever altered.
The stranger jumped to his feet. "Come quickly with me! The future of our people and this quadrant is in the balance, and we have no time to lose." Sharvic, impressed by the power and conviction in that voice, immediately started following the man through the back streets to the Kah'tal shuttle port. "Excellent." "We must leave this place behind, and find a place where we will be free to forge a better life for our people." Sharvic, more than a little puzzled asked, "How can this be?" "A better life?" "Yes!" said the stranger. "The Tal Shiar have poisoned our people for long enough, and have squandered our lives for their power."
Sharvic suddenly was transported to the day the Tal Shiar took his father. The last words of his father were reassurances that with logic and equanimity, that the highest good will manifest. With the blessing of "Peace and long life," the Tal Shiar devils took from him the best man in the whole empire.
Returning from his memory, Sharvic turned to the stranger. I am Sharvic son of D'Chir, and I am ready to leave this all behind, but I don't even know your name. With a smile the stranger introduced himself "My name is D'Tan, and there is much for us to do."
The flames burned. The screams of the victims echoed deep into the night.
Every night, Maikel would wake in a cold sweat, remembering what it was like to be Borg.
Thankfully, he was freed with the single stroke of a Tobarri crafted neurolytic warhead -- a controversial device designed to liberate entire Borg ships with a single volley.
Controversial because the majority of those "liberated" failed to survive the process, unable to accept fates left them by the elements.
Maikel considered himself lucky to have faced liberation and survived.
It meant he was given the chance to return to his family, to hold his wife once more ? and to meet his children who were now grown.
It was his chance to again serve his people, helping them with a cause better than when he had been taken slightly less than 50 years previous.
This was his chance at Mnhei'sahe ... a complex concept which rules most of Rihannsu (or Romulan) life in terms of honor.
Each night's horrifying dreams reminded Maikel ir-Rahvan tr'Triheu strongly of Mnhei'sahe ? and how he would spend the rest of his life fighting the Borg if necessary.
For this reason, the former flag officer of the Romulan Star Empire willingly accepted high rank in the navy of the Romulan Republic ? as well as would willingly join the fight as part of the Alliance Central Command.
We represent a small, casual group built on respect with a rather creative heart
One family spread across two fleets ... one KDF and one Fed ... with a shared in-game private chat channel that keeps us in contact with one another.
Although we do have a teamspeak server, it tends to be a quiet place as many of our players prefer simplying chatting via our group's in-game chat channel, saving voice comms for the coordinated operations ... or for when that socialization bug hits.
Many among us are more "lone wolves" when it comes to playing the game. These individuals may enjoy chatting as they play, but primarily run solo.
Now this doesn't mean everything is solo as there are times where we'll team up in twos and threes to run fleet mark or STF missions together ... or lurk together behind enemy lines inside the bounds of Ker'ret.
The point is that we are small ... dedicated we a shared common love of game ... but small, none-the-less.
Our Fed Starbase is Tier III and headed to Tier IV.
Our KDF starbase is Tier IV and starting the long march to Tier V.
Truthfully, it takes longer for us to progress than the larger fleets, but that's okay ... we just keep putting one foot in front of the other and eventually get where we're going.
So, if you're looking for a friendly place where you can kick your feet up by the roaring fire without all the drama ... We might be just what you're wanting.

Romulans, also known as Rihannsu, are a Beta Quadrant race from the planet Romulus (ch?Rihan). As a branch of the Vulcan species, Rihannsu have pointed ears and upswept eyebrows. Many, but not all, possess a small V-shaped ridge above the bridge of their nose, uncommon to Vulcans. Males have softer facial features than Vulcans. The height of Rihannsu males range between 5'7" to 6'3" and their weight is between 145 to 250 pounds. The males have strength two to three times greater than that of the average non-Rihannsu humanoids. The height of Rihannsu females range from 5'6" to 5'9" and weigh between 126 to 165 pounds. There are a few exceptions as in any race, however Rihannsu females are, like the males, generally of greater strength then those of other races. Like Vulcans, Rihannsu blood is green when oxygenated in the arteries and is copper or rust colored when deoxygenated in the veins. The Romulan heart is gray. The maximum Rihannsu lifespan that can ever be expected is approximately 250 standard years, with more typical figures ranging from 200 to 230.
Names and Forms of Address
Names:
Rihannsu who are members of noble houses will have three names:
A FIRST (given) name
A SECOND (location) name - This locative name is prefixed by i- (in the city of) or ir- (in the region of).
A THIRD (house) name
Prefixes used on Romulan Third (last) names:
t' ? for females e.g. Isha t?Valdran
tr' ? for males e.g. Ejiul tr?Kihal
Cha' ? more ancient prefix, less common than t' or tr' e.g. Valerian Cha'Vatal
A commoner will have only a FIRST name and a SECOND name.
Forms of address:
rekkhai = Rihannsu for "Sir." Used for both male and female.
By rank = Khre'Arrain or erei'Riov
By rank and last name = erei'Riov tr'Ra'slethefi
The CO of the ship is addressed either as Commander (Riov), rekkhai or his/her rank.
The XO of the ship is addressed either as Subcommander, rekkhai or his/her rank.
Unlike Starfleet, the rank is never shortened. An erei'Arrain, is not called Arrain, they are called erei'Arrain. A khre'Riov is not called Riov, but khre'Riov.
A person's first name is never spoken by another, unless they are intimate friends.
Rihannsu society is matriarchal and based on a highly structured caste system. At the center of the Rihannsu code of behavior is the importance of "Mnhei'sahe." It is an abstract measurement of a Rihannsu's personal honor and is often used as a status symbol in their culture. Mnhei'sahe, which translates loosely to "the ruling passion," centers around a strong respect and appreciation of honor, duty, courtesy and strength. In all interactions between Rihannsu, it is imperative that all parties leave afterward feeling that their honor and "face," is intact. If not, it is paramount to denying mnhei'sahe to the offended party. If the offending party feels he can apologize without himself losing face, he does so. Wars, executions and deaths of entire households can be required to satisfy mnhei'sahe. If mnhei'sahe is always intact within the Empire, the Rihannsu believe that they can never lose.
If the disgraced party is beyond redemption, those present may simply execute him or allow him to commit ritual suicide, in order prevent further disgrace and loss of mnhei'sahe. It is not a specific set of rules, but an unspoken understanding which guides the actions of all Rihannsu throughout life. Rihannsu honor their word when it is given to another. To break with one's word means dishonor and a loss of mnhei'sahe, a fate worse than death. Politeness, respect, and quiet dignity are always required if mnhei'sahe is to be satisfied. The worst thing that can happen to a Romulan, worse than death is dishonor, and to have their name removed from House records and State records, showing they are no longer a citizen of the Empire.
Rihannsu honor power as much as they honor loyalty. If not for one's self or House, then always for the Empire. Rihannsu are always loyal to the Empire itself, not to any one person. For the Rihannsu, power cannot be defined in standard Terran terms, but in the power of mnhei'sahe, and it defines the very structure of Rihannsu society.
Status is ordered according to rank, house status and personal accomplishments in a long chain until ending with the lowest status, that of a prisoner. Prisoners are considered even lower than slaves - a prisoner is without honor and is not fully Rihannsu.
It is rare for any two Rihannsu to have the exact same social standing. Although prestige and social standing are often related to rank, social status should not be confused for military chain-of-command. Ranks affect social structure, not vice versa. The way things are set up is to ensure that no Romulan is on an even setting with another. Two erei'Arrain's are not equal. The erei'Arrain that has held the rank longer is considered the superior officer.
Romulans place a lot of stock in where they are both in the military and in their houses as well as where their houses are in society. They have a caste system and are loosely based on the Roman Empire. Great Houses have more say / money / etc. than Lesser Houses and Lesser Houses have more say / money / etc. than the peasant class.
There are many methods of which an individual may rise in status: merit and achievements (as well as military honors), subterfuge and betrayals (including blackmail and strategic use of personal or political secrets), the gaining of powerful allies, "elimination" of opponents, wealth (buying of support) and pressure tactics.
Government
While the military plays an important role in Romulan society, it is the Romulan Senate that controls the government. The Romulan Star Empire is a republic.
The highest Romulan rank is the Praetor, who presides over the Romulan Senate and acts as chief of the executive branch. The Praetor heads the Continuing Committee, which is comprised of the Empire's most elite individuals, which make decisions of the utmost importance.
Tal Shiar
By the 24th century, the government of Romulus is dependent upon the Tal Shiar, the Federal Intelligence Agency of the Rihannsu Empire, to maintain order and stability among both civilians and the military. They have a broad scope of power, extending into all walks of Rihannsu life, and all citizens are assured in their safety, knowing the Tal Shiar are everywhere, watching for disloyalty and/or threats to the Empire. The Tal Shiar is known for its brutal tactics, which include routine kidnapping, torture, and assassination. Many Romulans fear even expressing dissenting opinions as to not spark the interest of the Tal Shiar. They are considered above the law and are responsible for ensuring the loyalty of ALL citizens, even high placed government officials and military personnel.
Tal Diann
The Tal Diann is Military Intelligence, as opposed to the Tal Shiar, which is civilian. It is the Romulan Star Command?s internal affairs division, and as such, fills a multi-function role in the Romulan Star Navy. The Tal Diann polices its own, and operates counter-intelligence operations against the Tal Shiar. They maintain and monitor relations between the Star Command and the various fleets, as well as between fleets themselves.

D'Chir received instructions for the Kolinar from Tuvok, and found peace and contentment in the logical equanimity that it promised. In fact, many on Romulus have found the ways of their sundered Vulcan family to be a great comfort since that dark night when Donatra was spirited away, presumably by Tal Shiar. Donatra was a reformer, an anomaly in a world which has been ruled by one authoritarian government after another for too many generations to count. One day even the Remans had full rights and privilage, the next day.. no one had any.
Sharvic didn't find personal comfort in logic. It's not that he didn't find a proper amount of logic to be helpful. It's just that emotions, passion, and intuition could get the job done a lot quicker than logic alone. But whatever his father deemed to be important, he was all for that... Even if it went against that half-human upstart Sela and her feared Tal Shiar? Oh yeah! Especially if it went against them!
Sharvic had studied hard, and was hopefully going to gain an engineering position on a Warbird! He loved the machinations of flight between the stars, and he loved testing out his theories for fabricating solid and useful tech out of photons. He tried not to think about the people that his efforts might serve. He was a Romulan, and he didn't have the luxury to choose his masters. Well... he does now!
This D'Tan person reminded Sharvic of his father. He also knew his father's mentor, Tuvok! He was very logical and well-measured, and despite the danger, serene. Joining him was the easiest decision that Sharvic had ever made. "I can repair starship engines, and modify tech for a nice farming village in Virinat, and live outside the shadow of the Tal Shiar, and Sela?" "I wish my father could see this!" Whatever was to come next, Sharvic was sure that it was all worth while. The swell of pleasant emotion that Sharvic felt during these halcyon days was quite...... logical.

Welcome to the family. We've got you set up on our forums and invited in game.
Also, check out the thread you posted there as there you'll find instructions on how to accept the invite to our fleet's private in-game chat channel.

Qapla' !!!
Respectfully,
-- Gen. Hauk

R.I.P

Scene: Commander's Quarters, R.R.W. Taen v'Latas
Respectfully,
VAdm. Maikel tr'Triheu

Interested? ... The register on our forums and let us know! http://alliancecencom.com

The swell of pleasant emotion that Sharvic felt during these halcyon days was quite...... logical.
