I am starting to get a feel for the rep grind. For my captains, gear is not so much of a goal, but the improvements that we can choose at each tier provide some goal posts, and impetus for advancing.
Despite the lesser dilithium (As opposed to it's absence the day of Season 7 launch!), I don't find it being too much of a hurdle, but due to the lack of regular decent gear drops in STFs, EC is the bigger problem, since that is the larger sink in both the fleet and rep system.

Changes are coming to put the drops back in + slight dilithium improvements plus project timers are getting times reduced in rep systems.
I am glad to report that the new Fleet Varanus is a worthy ship, and the Fleet Corsair is just flat out epic.
The Fleet Corsair is extremely durable, maneuvers satisfactorily, has great science power capability, and launches the best fighters in the STO universe.
Cho'Nyid was flying his Koroth class temporal science last night, and hit an unexpected wall. He ran out of Expertise points!
Phoenix mentioned that he had no problem with that aspect of the rep system, and I got to thinking. I switched to Tiphereth on the Fed side, who is my Doffer, and found her to have over a million of expertise.
Duty officer missions are not just for leveling anymore. As long as you're moving forward with the rep system, and fleet projects, you will need to use every means to keep your expertise up... especially if you change ships, and need to retrain crew a lot.

I've been to the ACC site and I like what I've seen. I primarly play Klingon, but I do have a federation character that kind of just sits around K7 these days. If your still interested in new members could someone get back to me?

I am on alot while at work, I can doff there but can't do much team related since I can get called away at any moment. Is there a special fleet channel that I can sign up for to set up games like STFs? I hadmy worst runs ever last night because of trolls and teams. I've decided that I'm not going to run PUGs anymore at all.
Also, I have 10 characters (9 Klingons and one Fed), if I like how this works out then I'll be moving all of them over if thats okay. Some don't get played to much, but I try to give them all attention whenever I can. If anything, they are all good at being Dilithium Mules.:o

Actually, we've now got the shipyard on timer which takes 7 days. After that, we'll see how the points all stack up.

I thought about getting the T3 BoP but the hull is paper thin.

I found that other ships that looked bad in print were actually considerably better... such as the Federation Fleet Escort Retrofit.

Another player I know posted yesterday to me on Skype that it actually is not a bad ship and he finds it works well and is quite fun.
Still not sure I personally would spend 4 fleet modules for it before hearing from about two or three others yet .. (for variety of builds, etc.)
