Console change removed my consoles!!!!!!

    I wonder if there will ever be a time when people stop over-reacting to everything and take a minute to check first?

    that defeats the purpose they said we could leave it on the engineering spot but if we move it we couldnt put it back well they moved it so we have no choice now that isnt right they need to fix this

    Based on that information I've crafted a Field Generator. Ok, 7,000 dilithium aren't much, but it still angers me, that I've spent them for nothing. Well, I should have known better, and the devs cannot respect the needs of all players. Otherwise there would be no further development. But that doesn't make me feel better and I'm starting to ask myself, why am I still doing this, why am I working on my builds day after day when they get nerfed anyway with the next update.

    I had the +35% console on the ships of all of my VA captains.

    I log in after the patch and the console is missing on most all of my toons. Where the console was slotted on my ships is now an empty hole. In addition the console is not in my inventory.. It appears to have been deleted.

    I paid DL for each of those Mk XI consoles and now they are just removed from the toon? What is that?

    Cryptic, give me back my consoles or refund the DL I spent on them... As it is now you took something I paid you real cash to get ($ > C-Points > DL) and just outright deleted it on most all my toons.

    This is not cool in my book.

    1. The Console is i your OVerflow Bag
    2. The Devs have stated the 'nerf' to the console is a bug
    3. The Devs don't seem to have done very much bug testing or critical thinking before they acted

    The Shield consoles that were changed to science are no longer on my ship. As a matter of fact, they aren't on my character anymore at all!!!! They are completely removed! I thought that any change would not affect the consoles current location, much less be removed automatically?! COME ON GUYS!

    It's going to be nearly impossible to fix this now since it's already affected most/all players unless they are changed back to engineering consoles.

    I would, however, like to hear the justification for this change. It makes no sense to me. Why would you modify the existing ones instead of creating entire new science consoles? I also use more shield modification powers on my Engineering DOff's than Science Doff's.

    Well, a couple of points:

    1) This is the same guy that asked for feedback on the new ships, got over 25 pages of it, and then completely ignored it. I'm not really sure how much I believe him.

    2) Adjusting these consoles to use skill while still providing the same buff would require them to set the skill bonus to more than 100 - i.e. more than you get from actual skills. That's going to look pretty weird, and when they see it, they may decide not to return them to that level.

    3) The console has needed a nerf for a long time.

    4) It is currently possible to stack them, so with 3 or 4 of them you get back to, and possibly over, the old shield values.


    Taken together, this looks far more like a deliberate plan than an accident. And, even if it is an accident, I have a feeling that it is going to stick around.

    A fleetmate just confirmed both of his are missing also. I went and made a new console, swapped my borg console to that empty engineering slot, put the new generator on, and it's making no change to my ship! Seriously? This is the most pita nerf you guys have ever done. I want answers!

    Nerfed and changed,,,just what I expected for a console that i spent so many emblems on...when told to spend them or loose them..by a certain dev.

    I found your stupid consoles. They were in my overflow bag. THIS IS ABSOLUTELY UNACCEPTABLE! WTF?! There is the saying 'If it ain't broke, don't fix it'. Rediculous.

    The problem is, that the players can spend real money to buy more dilithium. Therefore every item has a value in real money. Ok, a Field Generator isn't very expensive, but it still has a value, either in time (to farm the necessary dilithium) or in real money (for those who buy dilithium with cryptic points). And there surely are players, who don't like these changes because they realized, that they have spent precious cryptic points for nothing. That's something Cryptic has to consider in the future. Balancing is an ongoing process, but this more than just balancing some values. The devs have literally removed an item from the game an replaced it with a completely different item. That goes too far, and although it might have been necessary, it should not happen anymore in future.

    Oh yeah, and my shield emitter did the same damn thing. Good job guys. You have literally just ****ed off an entire fleet.

    Two reasons.

    1) As of the recent skills change, shields are a science thing instead of an engineering thing.
    2) Previously, science consoles were only really useful on science ships. Now, they (well, at least one) have a use even if you are not boosting science powers.

    come on after all we went trough to get that ship and u change the engi consoles to science.....
    increase the science conlose on bug ship or change it back to the way it was :mad:

    1. This is par for the course for Cryptic. Get used to it.
    2. The Bug ship did need a weakness, so alot of us would be happy to see it suffer, even if only by sideaffect

    Ugh. Change not needed. Granted, I often struggle with finding stuff to put in Science console slots, but now my Defiant refit has a problem. It only has 2 spaces, and both consoles in those 2 spots are sorely needed. One is the Borg console, and the other is a Biofunction monitor which definitely helps a lot due to the tendency for my entire crew to die whenever I am attacked.

    I feel hamstrung. I don't dare move the console I have from the engineering spot it currently resides in now.


    Edit: never mind - checking my overflow bag removed it for me. Cryptic - please stop changing things that were not asked for nor needed. Make new missions.

    Good news then. As soon as you run a mission or beam to your ship, the console will automatically move to your overflow bag. Enjoy!

    considering how rare it is and how much money we spent for the ship it should be better than other escorts.
    but its not like it was better anyway but now it just sucks big time nerly imposibe to keep shields up now.:mad:

    My favorite part of this is the assurance that if the console is left in the engineering slot, it'll stay there. Until the patch goes in and the patch forcibly removes it from your engineering slot and makes you search for it in the overflow bag and have to re-equip it as a science console.

    "Oh no, i can't equip the Sci shield console because my sci slots are filled with universal borg console and some other TRIBBLE!"

    Put the shield console in a sci slot and move the assimilated console from sci to the engineer slot the shield console just came out of.

    not ideal, but there is a reason why universal console are universal
