Ah yes, the Tailor interface. The STF uniforms have thier own "special" screen in the Tailor
With the KDF Honor Guard uniform you must "choose" to neck armor and gauntlets from pull down menu's.. You cannot mix parts of the Honor Guard Uniform with any thing else, and you cannot apparently mix any normal uniform parts with Honor Guard uniforms
<redaction>
I assume the Fed side there are some eaqually useless elements in the tailor when dealing with MACO and OMEGA set uniforms. I personally don't know. I'm just not going to bother with it on my Fed VA.
The concept of the STF uniform was exciting. I was very charged up about these when I saw the images of them the very first time. Not any more. Iff these had gone to the C-store I would at least have the whole uniform.

I do find myself amazed by how seriously dissapointing Cryptic studio's can be, especially when it come to the simple things. And I don't mean simple to do. When dealing with computer programming, graphic integration, software technology and processes "difficulty" is part of the process. It comes with the territory and if you can't handle it then you need to be in another line of work.
What I see as a consistant difficulrty that should not be is delivering the elements of the product as a complete package. You got to keep the customer satisfied if you want them to keep spending money. This is a MMO. Content is king.. as in Content "things to do" NOT Content "things thant make you look pretty"..( for STO thats Ships, Costumes, Pets. ) The game launched originally short on the former. And all in all there hase been more time and effort spent on the later then the former since the game launched. If you were a Federation oriented player you might not have noticed this nearly as much. But if you were a KDF Oriented player it was pretty obvious.
A Remastered mission while nice is not new content. There have been a lot of remastered missions. Funny how the ones KDF constantly seem to get the rush job and almost always have something Not Finished Correctly about them.. Even simple additions such as the recent checking in with Admiral D'vak and get a free "normal" MkX item from a STF vendor. KDF player cannot currently complete this mssion because it points us to D'vak at his OLD location in First City instead of his NEW location on DS-9. This is a simple error. Was it QC'd? ... I've done software QC.. No . I would have to say it was not QC'd... Nobody checked to make sure it was working correctly.
This is a prime example of a simple thing not done. But thats Ok, because it only effects KDF players..
I hate that attitude that keeps coming across. It needs to be changed. We're customers. We're consumers. We consume this product. I'm still feeling awefully hungry.. How about the rest of you.. Including you new to the whole KDF experience types.? Feeling Hungry? Get used to it.. This happens alot to this faction.
Really disapointed. And to think.. I started this thread started over a simple uniform unlock.
The imagery of the Season 5 rollout really sucked me in. When we were testing Tribble and saw the Honor Guard/Omega/MACO guys at ESD, I was blown away... the Klingon outfit in particular looked amazing. Just... jaw-dropping stuff. FINALLY it looked like we were getting something really awesome, although like many other testers, I didn't have the hours to invest in STFfing through my EDCs to see it for myself. But when it launched, I was *ready* to go. The art team did some awesome work on the KDF gear, and I wanted it badly.
Season 5 launched, and I basically took 2-3 days off of work, dropped in an easy 40 hours of grinding, RAN to DS9 to pick up my suit, and....
Well...
Huh. That was disappointing. I'd heard that the Veteran version wasn't as complete as Elite, but I'd seen a couple of players with Omega gear, and they still look fantastic. Basically everything but the helmet, so I'd been pretty enthused. D'Vak is wearing an HG suit without the helmet, so I thought that Vetern would look like that, which would've been TOTALLY worth it..
Buuuuuut meh. The finished result basically looks less complete than regular armor. It looks exactly like a diluted version of what it was intended to be. The collar even clips through the shoulders where the furs and cloak were supposed to go. It's basically advertising of what the full suit might someday look like, which would be fine if it weren't a 40-hour teaser. And in that time, I learned that I will never, ever be able to get the elite suit, since in those 40 hours of grinding (and another 40 hours for the space set), not a single piece of rare OR prototype tech ever dropped for anyone.
Khemaraa focused on the gameplay here, and I won't really even go into that with HG. It's a melee suit in a game that's deemphasized melee until a future update sometime in 2012-2013. You don't earn HG for the buffs, it's all cosmetic.
The whole thing is pretty disheartening. When people ask, I warn them away from it. Honor Guard is absolutely not worth the grind.
I'm wreaking havoc in my full HG suit just fine. Both, the infinite hypo and the instant remodulation are godsends, especially on elite. And the gun's grenade-launcher makes that weapon pretty much on par with the proton gun if not better (Borg can't adapt to the nades).
But yeah...not only are the Mark XI visuals bugged on male characters, they also look almost nothing like the Elite version. My customized uniform with its veteran shoulders looked much more epic.
Which wouldn't even be that bad if Mark XII were more accessible.
I really want the entire costume unlock selection(helmet, cape, everything), and was under the impression based on a dev post from the F2P forum that we would only need to get the XI set to unlock the entire costume.
Honestly, I don't see why they shouldn't make the tokens available for rare borg salvage. I've already fully equipped two ships with anti-Borg gear, so I'm now sitting on lots of salvage with nothing to spend it on.
No, I don't want to spend it on dilitium.
If two pieces of salvage can buy a purple MK XI weapon and about 22k refined dilithium can buy a purple Mark XI weapon, then getting mere 2k dilithium for two pieces of salvage is a frigging scam!
I honestly think we might as well forget about it. It is as many people have said across multiple topics.
I would hate to anger every single dev, but look at the projections. Listen to the feedback. Guaranteed if things don't shape up, it will be more then credibility you will be losing.
Making the complete set mark XII fine and good, if the drops for it are spaced out in a way that would make it feasible. What is going on now, isn't feasible, It's impossible.
We, the players, paying players, are complaining that this needs to be changed. Think for a second that we, the players, include the f2pers. How many would you think would stay with the serious lack of content?
f2pers unlock KDF at a certain rank. Oh yeah, great. They make a KDF and they realize that they spent time(and in some cases money) to get to where they are with nothing to show for it. The same applies here. We spend time and money to get to this point, to obtain a sought after armor set that was shown. Only to have the pieces we want ripped out of our grasp, and hidden behind a barrier that keeps adapting to the different weapons we use.
We need a (non-random)frequency remodulater. Plain and simple. A way to get it without waiting for that .01 percent chance. Alter the stats enough to make obtaining the sets do-able.
I would hate to have to waste my energy on deaf ears. If deaf ears is all that will hear it.

As anyone unlocked a complete set of the Mk XII ground for any of the three or seen one unlocked?
I gotta say I am really happy I haven't seen any "DERP HURR I want soemting tahts unique and special HERP DERP" attack these topics.
Second off, Almost everyone that whats the full costume unlocks seems to agree that the XII farm is the worst. Lucky random drops is to low, and a lot of people hate how there is no actual farm options so you can eventually get it.
And we also got people that can't run elite who wants the costume unlocks.
And still haven't seen anyone with the full Honor Guard mk XI use its unlocks. (so will rudely assume they also agree it looks bad without the rest of the unlocks).
A few good ideas thats floating around:
Make the XI unlock the full costume.(And by "full" I mean "full", no compromise please.)
Allow the XII to be purchased for EDC. (120 elite runs, 240 normal runs)
A few less desirable ideas, but still good:
If you only want people that run elite to get the XII, replace the 2EDC drops from elite runs with 1 special elite version of the EDC that you need to gather 120 to buy a mk XII set with.
Add the costumes to C-store, so people who got the full XI, are given the option to buy the rest of the parts.
I don't mind gear with super high stats thats extreamly hard to get. Just don't make it almost impossible to get costume rewards in a game thats made around where you can freely select your visual appearence.
Also would be great to get some Dev/GM response/feedback soon.
I've actually gotten some second hand replys on this subject reputedly. I don't know if what I was told was exagerated, or moderated but it was not something that would remotly please me. I'm really hoping I was just getting trolled. If I find out for sure that I was someone is gonna find them selvess in the "Not a credible person" line. Not a good place to be if your into social gaming. (Yes that actually is a warning to a certain someone.)
I haven't really looked at the fed forums for a same subject from the fed perspective though I am aware that a number of fed players are not at all happy about the partial unlock on the uniforms on the fed side either.
I've also seen the usuall batch of trash mouth "leet" player talking thier TRIBBLE, but I haven't seen any of them running around in the Mk XII visuals yet. On either faction. Theres a whole lot of experience acruing running STF's now. More so then at any time since STO launched. The elite ground mission will get run. I suspect we'll get a reply from a DEV after the holiday and hopefully before F2P launch on this subject.
After many hours of grinding to get the Honor Guard MK XI gear, I finally did last night. I ran to the tailor to change my uniform to this one.
My feelings are it is not that bad, maybe just having a different look for once made me say it is ok. Was it worth my time, yes I believe so.
But in all perspective, I also think that this uniform should be the MK X unlock, and the MK XI should have more to it. It seemed like a recruit uniform to me. A veteran would not be dressed that much different than an elite.

Agreed on all fronts.
What we get at Mk XI should be what we have at Mk X with Mk XI being all but maybe the helmet and cape.

I like this, but I would even think as going a bit further to make the elites shiny parts to have gold colour options on them to further set them apart... unless they do already.
And again, why no gauntlets on the male xi when the female set has them. It's all about the shiny bling bling.
All I want(and I know I am not the only one) is the costume unlocks: sash/cleavage, cape, helmet..etc.. everything!
But this "lucky chance of one drop" elite farm is ridiculous.
Ofcause XII gear with great stats should be really hard to get. But costume unlocks in a game thats based around where you can freely select your apprence shouldn't be this hard.
XI should unlock FULL costume options.
Then make X unlock the current XI

People getting full visuals for just playing Normals? I don't think so!
Granted the Mk XII sets and visuals are currently ridiculously hard to obtain.
But the full costume should still ONLY be obtainable by those who play "Elite" STF's.
Otherwise whats the point in even bothering with Elite's?
The increase in stats between Mk XI and Mk XII equipment is marginal at best.
I do think there should be complete and different visual sets for both elite and normal.
I completed a set for my kdf char, think it was omega if memory serves the one that looks kinda like merc gear, and again being honest here, was not too happy with the overall accomplishment only getting a part in partial of something that looks un finished after that many runs.
Sure they were not hard runs by any stretch of the imagination, but I did still put the time and effort in to get it.
Even if it meant things would be more expensive to get a complete set of some kind for normal, then I think it would be worth it in the grand scheme of things for a complete visual set.
I think it should of netted at least a complete costume for mk xi and let the mk xii be a whole new series of sets of their own with new flashy visuals and the works.
Mk xi should imo look a bit more finished than it does.
I do get they want people to run elites and all that stuff, but I disagree with the current method of trying to accomplish that goal of getting people to play them and etc.
I think there are other ways of doing that than the current method.
They could have a set for mk xii that has clear windowed helms that have lights in them or something and jet boots that have a limited fuel supply for a ground map travel speed boost.
Just throwing out ideas here to show there are ways to reward both groups for their effort without leaving either series of sets wanting and or lacking in status symbol value.

The Mk XI version of the Honor Guard set is bugged and incomplete. It's the equivalent of what Omega looks like at Mk X (even the female version with the gloves), which is pretty lame for 120 EDCs.
