Clearly I haven't been paying enough attention to this thread. I missed cookies? Ah well, story of my life.
Man, I know the feeling. Not just cookies, but brownies and beer, too! I clearly need to get my comp set up again so I can partake in the festivities :rolleyes:

All kidding aside, though, I've only been able to play once with the fleet due to real world cr@p going on in my life, but it was a blast, and I can't wait to do it again! so if your looking for a fun fleet, please give us a look ( and apparently we have cookies.... Hehe).

Also wanted to reiterate something that struck me as really significant: We are under the philosophy that everyone had their own gifts and abilities to bring to the fleet so if you want to be active in forming the fleet in any way please let us know.
We are either 30 something or 40 something so you may define us as mature.
We have starter this fleet to create a relaxed fleet for casual or active members with an emphasis on fun and a strong social aspect. It is expected that captains may bail out of a mission to return to Starbase Mariner 10 in order to make lunches, dinner or feed the baby. To us family like is as important as the prime directive. That is a non Kirk version of the Prime Directive!
Very few rules and everyone have a say in the direction of the fleet. We do have one wish that all members have the TOS uniform for Fleet actions and possible a 23rd century Ship and you are familiar with our Fleet backstory. We understand that all members may not be into the roll playing but just humour us and build your character bio to correspond. http://sto-tos.blogspot.com/

If you're a TOS fan (you bleed red, blue, and gold--or lime greenish), you're mature (30s & 40s), and are a relaxed, casual player, this may be the fleet for you.
We're small but growing and have people interested in all facets of the game, from PvP to The Foundry. We're also developing a TOS backstory collectively--everyone can contribute. And we're creating bios for are characters and sharing them.
My character took command of the USS Exeter after its crew was lost at Omega IV. He's then whisked away to the future to help fight for the Federation. As far as specifics go, like everyone else in our fleet, I'm open to other people's ideas and creativity.
We are a mature (30+) fleet. Our play style is relaxed with no time obligations. We believe that all fleet members should have a say in decisions. Our ruling council members are here to answer questions and participate in conversations, not dictate commands. We want to keep our fleet bank stocked with good items at all levels to help everyone out.
We have a TOS theme. The backstory of our fleet revolves around a group of captains and ships brought from the year 2269 to fight for the Federation. We mean this story to be a collaborative effort, so discussion, ideas, and expansions are welcome. Fleet characters should have bios that relate in some way to this backstory, and we are happy to brainstorm how to do that collectively. We mean our TOS theme and backstory to be fun and not a burden.
We are interested in all facets of the game. We plan to run occasional fleet actions with Connies. We also have plans to use The Foundry to create TOS-era adventures, flesh out our backstory and character biographies, and play with ideas that members have.

Perhaps you have heard of me. My name is Heinrich Schelton. I have developed a powerful set of mathematical tools for predicting the development of societies based on a variety of cultural, economic, and psychological factors. I am certain that you have heard of my book, The Socio-Topological Evolution of the Federation. I have taken the liberty of sending a signed copy along with this letter.
I write to you today out a feeling of extreme concern. My calculations demonstrate that the Federation will soon enter an unprecedented period of crisis, one that will threaten its very existence! We must take action to meet this crisis today, before it is too late. The equations leave only one singular option. WE MUST TRAVEL INTO THE PAST and WE MUST ABDUCT JAMES T. KIRK!
I say abduct here, but that is perhaps the wrong word. I have no doubt that Kirk would relish the opportunity to come to the future and save us all, once again. My calculations provewith no offense to youthat the Federation and Starfleet of the 23rd century were superior to those institutions as they exist today. Jean-Luc Picard is a perfect case in point.
I have nothing but the highest respect for Picard. But he would be no match for James Kirk in a fight! The events on Veridian III demonstrate this without a doubt. Kirks demise on that lonely world was a terrible tragedy for us all! Since we only have Picards version of what happened there, I cannot help but suggest that his death may have been avoidable.
Picard has already shown some hint of, shall we say, a sense of inferiority in his response to my book. Though I hesitate to make such accusations without firm proof, I do not think it impossible that Picard himself was responsible for Kirks demise through some subterfuge. I do not know if you are aware of the nature of Earth ethnicities, but the French are not to be trusted. However, I digress.
KIRK IS OUR ONLY HOPE! I believe that Starfleet must have multiple means of time travel at its disposal. I have it on good authority that the starship Voyager made incursions into time every other week on its long journey home from the Delta quadrant. Surely, Admiral Janeway must have brought knowledge of new temporal technologies home with her. I find her career speaks to a level of resourcefulness that is nearly equal to Kirks. And she is a handsome women to boot!
Do not believe that my busy schedule will prevent me from responding to any invitation to meet with you personally. Given the seriousness of coming events, I will certainly make the time. And do please alert me if Admiral Janeway will be in attendance at any of our conversations. I could not let the occasion pass without some token of my respect for her. Do you know, does she happen to favor Rigelian orchids?

We know there are a lot of good fleets out there that are structures, organized, that offer lots of different sub groups and variation to support all kinds of members and playing styles.
I have a wife, two young children, I am on two local boards and a national association and I have a demanding job. Finding the time to sit down and playing STO for long periods of time without upsetting one of my family, friends or colleagues is a midfield. Slipping out of a fleet action to change a diaper, make lunches, answer an email or send a report out always made me feel like I was letting people down. It was frustrating that my default life was affecting my STO real life
The things I wanted were a mature fleet of people over 30 years old, relaxed and laid back, a mix of experiences. People that liked the Original Series (TOS) and would not mind roll playing a bit to try to justify TOS uniforms in the future. A fleet where friendships and the social aspect become more important than the game and a Fleet where everyone has a say and is considered an equal.
I started a thread before Christmas to see if there was anyone out there in the same situation. http://forums.startrekonline.com/showthread.php?t=198192 After about 10 or so people commenting in the same situation and one for the guys starting up a website we decided to start our own fleet.
The Original Series (TOS) Veterans Fleet was started and within the first few days we had 12 members sign up. We are growing strong and trying to figure out ways to get more like minded individuals into our fleet.

We're a group of mature (30+) and friendly players with real lives who share a interest in classic Trek. If you watched TOS afterschool as a kid, prized your model Connie, had a plastic phaser pistol, or just enjoy the original, join in for a little fantasy and a lot of fun and friendship.

The TOS Veterans Fleet is for mature casual players in their 30's and 40's that wish to participate in fun, fellowship and sharing of STO knowledge.

We're small but growing and have people interested in all facets of the game, from PvP to The Foundry. We're also developing a TOS backstory collectively--everyone can contribute. And we're creating bios for are characters and sharing them.
My character took command of the USS Exeter after its crew was lost at Omega IV. He's then whisked away to the future to help fight for the Federation. As far as specifics go, like everyone else in our fleet, I'm open to other people's ideas and creativity.

We have a TOS theme. The backstory of our fleet revolves around a group of captains and ships brought from the year 2269 to fight for the Federation. We mean this story to be a collaborative effort, so discussion, ideas, and expansions are welcome. Fleet characters should have bios that relate in some way to this backstory, and we are happy to brainstorm how to do that collectively. We mean our TOS theme and backstory to be fun and not a burden.
We are interested in all facets of the game. We plan to run occasional fleet actions with Connies. We also have plans to use The Foundry to create TOS-era adventures, flesh out our backstory and character biographies, and play with ideas that members have.

Dearest President Okeg,
Perhaps you have heard of me. My name is Heinrich Schelton. I have developed a powerful set of mathematical tools for predicting the development of societies based on a variety of cultural, economic, and psychological factors. I am certain that you have heard of my book, The Socio-Topological Evolution of the Federation. I have taken the liberty of sending a signed copy along with this letter.
I write to you today out a feeling of extreme concern. My calculations demonstrate that the Federation will soon enter an unprecedented period of crisis, one that will threaten its very existence! We must take action to meet this crisis today, before it is too late. The equations leave only one singular option. WE MUST TRAVEL INTO THE PAST and WE MUST ABDUCT JAMES T. KIRK!
I say abduct here, but that is perhaps the wrong word. I have no doubt that Kirk would relish the opportunity to come to the future and save us all, once again. My calculations provewith no offense to youthat the Federation and Starfleet of the 23rd century were superior to those institutions as they exist today. Jean-Luc Picard is a perfect case in point.
I have nothing but the highest respect for Picard. But he would be no match for James Kirk in a fight! The events on Veridian III demonstrate this without a doubt. Kirks demise on that lonely world was a terrible tragedy for us all! Since we only have Picards version of what happened there, I cannot help but suggest that his death may have been avoidable.
Picard has already shown some hint of, shall we say, a sense of inferiority in his response to my book. Though I hesitate to make such accusations without firm proof, I do not think it impossible that Picard himself was responsible for Kirks demise through some subterfuge. I do not know if you are aware of the nature of Earth ethnicities, but the French are not to be trusted. However, I digress.
KIRK IS OUR ONLY HOPE! I believe that Starfleet must have multiple means of time travel at its disposal. I have it on good authority that the starship Voyager made incursions into time every other week on its long journey home from the Delta quadrant. Surely, Admiral Janeway must have brought knowledge of new temporal technologies home with her. I find her career speaks to a level of resourcefulness that is nearly equal to Kirks. And she is a handsome women to boot!
Do not believe that my busy schedule will prevent me from responding to any invitation to meet with you personally. Given the seriousness of coming events, I will certainly make the time. And do please alert me if Admiral Janeway will be in attendance at any of our conversations. I could not let the occasion pass without some token of my respect for her. Do you know, does she happen to favor Rigelian orchids?

TOS Veterans Fleet is still new and so we're open to suggestios and ideas about how we do what we do. It's the people who join who will determine which directions we go.
Ultimately, we're hoping to find friendly, creative people who have an interest in classic Trek and a desire to share that interest and have fun with STO (spelling and grammatical skills not required). We have a TOS theme, but can make room for a lot of creative backstories within it.

I have a wife, two young children, I am on two local boards and a national association and I have a demanding job. Finding the time to sit down and playing STO for long periods of time without upsetting one of my family, friends or colleagues is a midfield. Slipping out of a fleet action to change a diaper, make lunches, answer an email or send a report out always made me feel like I was letting people down. It was frustrating that my default life was affecting my STO real life
The things I wanted were a mature fleet of people over 30 years old, relaxed and laid back, a mix of experiences. People that liked the Original Series (TOS) and would not mind roll playing a bit to try to justify TOS uniforms in the future. A fleet where friendships and the social aspect become more important than the game and a Fleet where everyone has a say and is considered an equal.
I started a thread before Christmas to see if there was anyone out there in the same situation. http://forums.startrekonline.com/showthread.php?t=198192 After about 10 or so people commenting in the same situation and one for the guys starting up a website we decided to start our own fleet.
The Original Series (TOS) Veterans Fleet was started and within the first few days we had 12 members sign up. We are growing strong and trying to figure out ways to get more like minded individuals into our fleet.
