As you lvl up you get more aoe skills. Right now you just have the one so you should try only fighting one or two mobs at once. Once you get your good aoes and get them lvled you can do pulls and kill groups with no problem.

Not a server problem, a internet hub or router between you and PWE servers went down and your PC couldn't establish a new route to the servers so it pings back as offline. Reset your modem and you'll be fine.
