Couple problems with this statement. A.) You can't really give a set amount of points per level for heavy armor, as you have to get a lot from equips, since you'll always be short. B.) Your "heavy armor build" lacks any magic at all. If you're going heavy armor, I'd assume, just like with LA, you can't add vit. And it's…

You do still need to lower the mob's health before taming. I tried taming without hitting the mob at around level...40ish, about 10-15 times, because I wanted to try a varicose scorp. It kept failing though :(. I ended up having to take off all my equipment just to punch it once, 'cause anything else would kill it…

One of the best ranged pets is an Eldergoth (Marksman or Sharpshooter), but those start at around...41, I think? There are lower level Eldergoths, but i'm not sure if those are ranged as well, and I'm pretty sure those are around the same level as the cactopods.

If I'm being honest, I didn't really know about Amping until mid 30's, when I read about it in the forums, mainly because none of the venos I'd been squadding with used Amp, ever. Not sure about the very high levels, but at low to mid levels there are a lottttt of venos that don't bother to do more than venomous --> pet…

Ebony Hellduke = Seamonster Guardian. Name changes after you tame them.

No one can give you a points-per-level guide, because there isn't one. There's a reason everyone says you should wait until 70 to even think about trying HA. From what I know...you need 5 str, 6 mag, 1 dex, every two levels, in order to meet the requirements for both heavy armor and magic weps. You get ten points per two…

Fixed b:chuckle. Venos without a herc simply can't tank dungeon mobs with ease if they're at the same level. With my Walker caught up in levels, as a vit-mag hybrid veno, I'd be lucky if I could tank some of the mobs in the higher level dungeons alone--in fact, I died once trying to get back to my party in my FB51 because…

It's really just personal preference, but like others have said, a full mag build would probably steal aggro from pets more often than a vit hybrid build (though not so much if you know how to space out your attacks). I stopped adding vit at somewhere between 30-40, and at level 63, I have around...2.2k (i think? haven't…

I've seen some higher level venos use wolves still, but certainly not for tanking. They have pretty average defense, but it's nothing like a Walker or a Herc's. Sadly, though they're cute, they can't be used against any serious mobs. They'd probably be fine to use for quests on the outside, but for dungeons you'll want a…

You also won't be able to solo anything. I honestly don't see the point in making a veno that doesn't use a pet (because let's face it, the weak pets don't last at all against higher level mobs, especially dungeon mobs), when you could just as easily make a BM, or a sin. What's the point in not at least getting a Walker?…

I don't know about other servers, but on mine, there's always people selling Walkers in City of the Lost. They're not expensive either--most I've seen are priced at 5k, not a huge amount for the level at which you can use them. Much easier (and less costly) than teleporting all the way to City of Raging Tides and taming…

Land 1. Glacial Walker -- super slow, but really the only thing that can take a hit in most dungeons, especially with exploding mobs. 2. Seamonster Guardian/Dark Wanderer/Scorpion -- Guardian has good mdef, while DW has better pdef and can serve as a secondary tank. The scorpion is good as well, if not a bit squishy. All…

The elemental Bash on the Walker does hold aggro better, IMO, but I never have trouble with my Guardian, unless A. It's underleveled, or B. I'm fighting things many levels below me. Flesh Ream is pretty good at gaining aggro. Regardless of how good the pets hold aggro, though, if you're spamming spells, more often than…

I use the Guardian when I'm out grinding, or doing the "Kill 50 of these" quests. It kills faster than my Walker, and if I need to lure a mob out of a group of aggressives, it's fast enough that it hardly ever gets hit before I stow it and resummon. It does technically take less magic damage than the Walker, but since it…

From what I've seen, the level 5 turtle is still the best water pet. The Petite Sawfly is the best air pet, in terms of damage. The Cloud Skatefish is close to the Sawfly, but apparently doesn't have as good of skills. As for land DD, pretty sure the Varicose Scorp is still the biggest damager, but the Dark Wanderer and…

The pet has to be tameable, to begin with (a yellow or green icon next to their name--not red, which means it's higher level than you). If it doesn't say it's tameable, you can't tame it. Secondly, at level 27, you can kill level 10s pretty easily without trying to. If you don't damage them first, more often than not, the…

If you're going for an arcane veno, you should really only be doing enough str to fit the reqs for your armor and weapons (usually 1 str every two levels is enough). Vit sort of differs for everyone. I just do 1 str/1 vit/8 mag every two levels, but some like more vit.Take a look at the veno build stickies, depending on…

Ah, thanks ^^. That probably explains why my GW holds aggro a bit better when I get teamed up on.
-
The Guardian has Flesh Ream and Slow, while the GW has that Icicle-type Bash, Howl, and Tough. Is Flesh Ream as good/nearly as good as Bash?
-
Sigh, some people had mentioned the DW and Guardian as better than the Scorpion now >.<. I thought they had more defense, too--maybe I was wrong about that as well. For the Guardian, attack: 377, attack speed: .8/sec. For the GW, attack: 458, attack speed: .6/sec Unless the Guardian's attack pulls ahead somewhere, I think…

Yeah, I'm losing aggro >.<. Quite a bit, actually. Like...every mob >.>. Don't Seamonsters have pretty low defense, though? That's the reason I wasn't going to train it on the 22+ mobs around Archeosaur...wasn't sure if it'd be twoshotted out there at level 19, since I do seem to have to heal it much more often than my GW…

Thanks ^^. That worked.

I have that graphics card, and to be honest, it's not great. It can't handle a lot of high-graphics games without much lag, unfortunately. It's not unbearable with PWI--i can certainly still play, but I do have to adjust the settings so they're pretty low (which keeps me from lagging much at all, though admittedly the game…
