Rank that Pet

As a new player, I had a LOT of confusions about which pets to get. I suppose ALL new player go through that. I am just trying to make life easier for n00bs.
Please post ONLY if you have a level 50+ Veno character or close to this level.
Please help if you can by posting names of 5 land pets, 3 air pets and 3 water pets in ranked lists.
Example: (NOTE: It is just example and not my ranking. I am too low level to post a reasonably valid ranking.)
Land:
1. Glacial walker (Good tank for start to mid game. Starting level 19.)
2. Golem (Good tank with excellent aggro holding skills.)
3. Scorpion (Good skill set. Good upto level 19.)
4. Wolf (Very fast and good for luring.)
5. Snow Hare (SOOO CUTE!)
Air:
1. Petite Saw Fly (Nuff said)
2. XYX (Comment)
3. ABC (Comment)
I suggest following few simple rules.
- Keep it simple and avoid using terms that new players will not understand.
- If you are a True Veno Veteran and want detailed discussions or want to ARGUE because someone has posted a BAD list, please start another thread.
- If you are a n00b and find something you don't understand, please start a new thread.
- If you believe that water pets are not worth wasting leveling time and one should get new pets with new level, just say so instead of posting a rank list.
- It is already a well established fact that Hercules and Phoenix are the two best pets in this game. Please don't include them in your rankings.

For "Best pet" topic... It states the reason why one pet is better than another
But why not... my list (if you aren't going for herc/nix)
Land:
1. Glacial Walker or Magmite (as your tank pet)
2. Scorpion (get the one starting lvl2 as then he will have the highest attack. More or less for pk and dd)
3. Elder Marksman or any Cactapod (good for luring)
4. Kowlin or Tabby Plumdrop (cause they are cats, good as secondary pulling pets cause of speed)
5. Antelope pup (if you want a magic tank)
Air:
1. Petite Sawfly (air pet for pk. Nice substitude to nix)
2. Foxwing (preferably lvl34 one, nice pve air pet)
3. Windwalking piggy (pretty good air "tank")
Water:
1. Plumpfish (any of them, starts at lvl80)
2. Any closes tamable water mob you can tame to finish quest
3. -0 -
yep, there's already a pretty good thread for this.
but ah well.
if not going for herc/nix
land:
1. glacial walker > good tank but damn slow -_-"
2. Dark wanderer > decent tank + DD
3. eldergoth marksman > ranged
4. kowlin > fast lurer
5. carapest or so seems to be a good magic tank.
air:
-sawfly > comes with good skills already.
-skatefish > seems to be slightly better then sawfly but skills need upgrading
-windwalking piggy > good tank
water:
plumpfish at lvl 80. ofc lvling a up a lvl 5 turtle will be better stat wise.. but I don't think the time is worth it.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]
Thanks Silvychar for the awesome sig
Characters:
waterfal - lvl 90 demon ferrari veno
Hazumi_chan - lvl 9x sage seeker0 -
Land
1. Glacial Walker -- super slow, but really the only thing that can take a hit in most dungeons, especially with exploding mobs.
2. Seamonster Guardian/Dark Wanderer/Scorpion -- Guardian has good mdef, while DW has better pdef and can serve as a secondary tank. The scorpion is good as well, if not a bit squishy. All are great for DDing.
3. Eldergoth Marksman/Sharpshooter--ranged pet.
4. Kowlin -- Good for luring...and it's cute ;D.
5. Ninetailed Firefox -- probably useless in combat, but epically adorable.
Air
1. Cloud Skatefish -- just couldn't get used to a wasp following me around, and it's nearly equivalent statwise to the Sawfly.
2. Petite Sawfly
3. Windwalking Piggy -- as the posters before me said, it's the only true air tank.
Water
1. The level 5 turtle (can't remember the name) is the best water pet, period. But I certainly don't have the patience to keep it leveled, given the disparity of water mobs and quests, so I tend to just catch as I need water pets.
2. Not high enough level to catch one, but from what I've read on forums, the plumpfish is the second best.
3. Every other water pet sucks. Don't even get me started on the mermaids.0 -
My rankings (herc and nix not included)
Land
1) Shadou Cub (golem and glacial walker too slow for me)
2)Dark wanderer> better dps than scorpion
3)Ninetail fire fox > decent magic defense, also comes with lvl 4 howl
4)Celestial sting > further range than marksman or lower lvl catopods
5 Tabby Plumdrop > cute
Air
1)sawfly, good attack and good skills
2)elysium fowl, decent if you havent bothered lvling up an air pet
3) windwalking piggy> good tank, but low attack
Water
Plumpfish>.<0 -
Land:
1. Glacial walker
2. Armored bear
3. Scorpion w bleed
4. Kowlin - fast
5.
Air:
1. Petite Saw Fly w flash ream + claw
2. Desert Waspkin - its nice, cuz look like sawfly just blue colour.
3. windwalking piggy - it have much hp/def..but damn low dg..hard to lvl[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]
QQ If i did Crazy stone at 3x AND not 6x, i had been lvl 105 now!
Didnt know about Bh/CrazyStone before lvl 6x LOL0 -
Land
1. Glacial Walker -- very slow, but the next best thing after the Hercules
2. Dark Wanderer -- Very well DD(damage deal) if you exchange his skills later on, even w/o them, very nice DPS(damage per second)
3. Eldergoth Marksman/Sharpshooter--ranged pet, VERY GOOD for luring or DPS on bosses you are too busy to heal your pet and have an aoe up to 10 meters, the monkey just stands out of the AoE(area of effect).
4. Ninetailed Firefox -- Very fast also with exellent DPS and would tend to be better than Dark Wanderer on 100+. Also starts with Exellent skills, if you level up it's Howl skill(-x Magic defence on target) it would be better than a cleric to seal it=spellcasters will love it.
5. Torgrim Brave -- Seriously...this one big awesome looking laddie. no nice stats what so ever.
Air
1. Cloud Skatefish -- just couldn't get used to a wasp following me around and if I fly on a skatefish...it looks like the big brother skatefish is leading the little on to school, baww just too adorable(>.<).
2. Petite Sawfly ... stats ... next best after Nix in air...
3. Windwalking Piggy -- "as the posters before me said, it's the only true air tank."
Water
1. "The level 5 turtle (can't remember the name) is the best water pet, period."
2. The Plumpfish(or it's 4-5 lvl higher brother/sister/thingie) right after the lvl 5 turtle on stats, nice skills too.
3. The mysterious not yet revealed cash shop water hurc/nix hybrid magic tank that I just imagined >:( ... just kidding.Achievment unlocked: Lagg
[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]
I know why you cry, but it is something I can never do.0 -
Land:
1. Snow Hare
2. Kowlin
3. Celestial Sting/Ethereal Inamorato (lures)
4. Shaodu Cub
The others are aesthetically pleasing. Some of the pets in my bag are there for just that - looking good.
1. It was my second tank pet after the magmite. I liked it better because I could see more with it and by L40 I was able to solo tank FB19 - slow going though.
2. It's downright sexy. I got it for it's looks and because I heard it had better damage. My friends and I started calling it a four-legged BM. It's great on damage but it goes squish really fast. It would make a pretty good land PK pet.
3. I got one of those from FB89 Eden just for luring. Not useful for much else. I use them as weak DDs though.
4. It's cute, especially when it runs. It tanks pretty well but it's damage is low.
Air:
1. Windwalking piggy
2. White Pheasant
3. A friend
I dispise bug pets.
1. I never did get mine very high. I was in my 70s or 80s when I got my hands on one. Didn't want to spend time leveling it up so I only kept it for looks. It's like the Shaodu Cub, but for the air.
2. It was a "necessary" air pet.
Water:
1. Plumpfish
2. A friend You don't have to feed them!
1. "Necessary" pet.
In the case of water or air quests you've an awful pet, tag a friend to come help with the quest. It'll go much faster then. If you're in a faction that goes along much more easily. But if you've got some really good friends, they won't mind hanging out with you or giving you a hand.0 -
lol the other venos are just letting newbs chose their pets from their ranking but ikr... you cant just put them there ... people always wish whats the best... so, if you got at last 7 pet slots open (one for mount) this should make you a pro veno
This list is made if you dont got money for herc and nix
1) Glacial Walker lvl 19 ( best tank pet after herc)
2) Petite Sawfly lvl 8 ( best killing machine after nix)
3) Celestial Plumpfish lvl 80 ( best water pet tho)
4) Kowlin lvl 60 speed - 10 m/s ( fastest pet in game, good for luring or for pking people with mounts)
5) Armored Bear lvl 80 ( alternative tank in case you lagg and you walker/herc dies... its good as alternative because he got stuning skill and good phy. res. )
6) Cerberus Pup / Pillar Pet both lvl 0 ( they dont attack, they are just cute pets for show off, fastest way to get them is with zen, second way is by using Dragon Points System)
b:victoryb:bye Peace everyone Take care![SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

The top five land pets, for a mid-life venomancer:
1. The baby Hercules. It costs $180. It's still just about worth it. Practically immortal, fairly hard hitting.
2. The glacial walker. It's big, it's tough and it hits fairly hard. It's slow is its only real down-side. Other golems exist, the glacial is the best, but only just.
3. Your very first starter scorpion. You'd be surprised how hard that thing hits, later on - and it's not completely terrible at surviving.
4. The Eldergolth. Big monkey. Advantage? Flings poo - ranged attack. Disadvantage? It's not that tough, though it gets better later in life.
5. Special mention to the rabbits - they come with shriek and that's a really interesting skill to try and use.
(In the rare pets - the shadau cub comes with pounce, which is better.)
In the air:
1. The baby blazing phoenix. By about a million points in speed, power, survivability and looks. Again, costs $180, and probably NOT worth it, but undisputably the best air pet in the game.
2. The sawfly. It wants to think it's a 'nix. It hits pretty damn hard, flies fast, but isn't tough at all.
3. Elysium Fowl. The other half of the equation - it doesn't hit that fast, but it's pretty tough and looks cool.
(In the rares - the flying piggy is tougher, but looks dumber.)
In the water:
There ARE only three types of water pets. The turtle, the mermaids and the plumpfish.
The turtle is toughest, the mermaid deals out decent damage - the plumpfish is high level. Few venomancers bother keeping a permanent water pet, and tame whatever is nearby when they need one.0 -

Thank you for the screen it's vanila, isn't it?
hmm... the initial skillset is kind of nice, although skills are a 2nd-ary thing when rating a pet. What worries me, though, is the stat growth chart. It look as if it had bellow-average growths in everything. On the other hand Eldergoths chart is not much better, and it ends up being a quite well-rounded pet for general grind (with ability of ranged tanking, of course - if it wasn't for this 99% of it's users would never pick it).
I think it could be worth a try - average, but not terrible stats, and small, comfortable frame... oh, and better looks like that snail aka plumpfish, although I've seen things that live under slimy stones that look better than the plumpfish - if it wasn't for how painful it is to level up a water pet :P[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

Don't forget the Wicked Teeth. Starts at lvl 13, decent stats. Of course, a pain to lvl, mine is currently lvl 60(took the time to lvl it) I taught it sandblow, fireball, and boost and it seems pretty nice against water mobs. Definitely want to go with sandblow and Fireball for a water pet anyway, as I have yet to see any water mobs that are not metal or water element(Water is weak to earth and metal is weak to fire)
Land:
1. Baby Hercules (Legendary Pet)
2. Armored Bear or Shaodu Cub(Bear requires lvl 80, both great tanks)
3. one of the lvl 2 Scorpions ( typical "preferred" DD)
4. Eldergoth Marksman (Ranged and good for luring)
5. Gnome Saboteur (My mainpet. Decent Mdef, evasion and attack, plus he's just adorable and macho is his own way)
Air:
1. Baby Phoenix (Legendary pet)
2. Windwalking Piggy (Air Tank)
3. Cloud Skatefish (Great Attack, much more pleasing to the eye than insect or foxwing)
Water:
1. Plumpfish (because lvlign water pets is just too much work for most people)
2. Wicked Teeth (see my comments above on this pet)
3. One of the lvl 5 Turtles ( Better than the mermaids stat-wise)
Personally, I go with pets I like. Which for land pets, I am going with macho pets. In addition to my Gnome, I also use:
Bloodthirsty Adalwolf (Great DD)
Riverside Tuskmoor (Decent Tank)
Tauroc Valorian (Decent Tank, IMO more pleasing to the eyes than Tauroc Slave or one of the lvl 7 Taurocs)
Eldergoth Marksmen (Is macho and IMO more pleasing to the eye than the sharpshooter)
I plan to get myself a Nivastok when I get high enough, and I am currently working toward a Herc(Despite being the "ultiamte" land pet, I find the herc to be sexy and macho, plus gold is my favorite color) I use a cloud skatefish currently but plan to switch to either infernal Eidolon or Dazzlewing Moth once I get high enough. For water pet, I will be using my Wicked Teeth to the end.0 -
my plumpfish has rank 6, i didnt see the point of rank8ing it[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0

i starting with a cristaline magmite (or w.e.), im testing it and i feel is better using a glacial walker.. is more rude than magmite. well i think isnt strong enough bc is still low lvl than my rudeboy
seriously i dont liked a pettite sawfly.. too squishy b:sadb:cute [SIGPIC]http://pwi-forum.perfectworld.com/image.php?type=sigpic&userid=14403145001&dateline=1392192924[/SIGPIC] f:grin

Actually, the Centipex on Misfortune is a nice shade of purple(too many blue/greenish/reddish ones) If tere3 were more bright yellow/golden pets, I'd go with some. I also wish more of the macho mobs were tameable. Nightspike Assassins and Feligar Masters would be awesome.0 -
Land
1. Crystaline -my main tanker. i do have a Valorian as the main backup, and Glacial that i recently leveled to 81, but for some reason it gets wiped out way faster than even the Valorian when in places like FF. same for my Armored Bear....really strange, but my dodo bear does better in FF than any of my bigger tanks, but is half the level
2. Kowlin- my beloved pet, top puller and the one i take out if i am just wanting to dress up and be beautiful, the way people used to have greyhounds or borzoi)
3. Armored bear- cute, and funny, but so far not finding him to be as good a tank
4. Frog- a 'for fun' pet...my son got him for me, and named him gorF: frog spelled backwards. i get him out when things are slow in squad, i like to take it out and have it 'spit', as a joke.
5. dodo bear- also a cutie, but fast becoming a tank in FF, despite low level (in his 50s, i think). squadmates im in there with dont like big pets/ones that look like mobs there, so that leaves me with my dumb Glacial Walker (acts/looks dumb, and so far, not good as a tank).
Air
1. Windwalker Pig- my tank for air, land and water. tough, and fun to hunt with
2. saving up points to get the Pilar pig, just as a pretty
3. ???
Water
1. plumpfish- such a relief to have something my level, and tough enough to fight the turtle in the Wraithgate![SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]
(and hugs to Flauschkatze for the sig!)
