Pretty sure RT just crashed. Had a huge lag spike and poof several friends went offline......another and poof im offline.

    Games are The place for Make ur Fun time that u cant have in real life. cus real life is FULL of PROBLEMS.

    There's a difference between a big DC and claiming all of east coast is down. I was lucky enough to not get DC'd, sure. If East coast was down though I'd have been just as affected as everyone else.

    I'm on harshlands and it went down too... so... i don't think thats a coincidence!

    guys do a tracert from yourself to the server you usually play on.

    See if there is a particularly slow node or if tracert fails altogether.

    the internet. it is a big spaghetti pile. not every DC is the server fault, especially when it doesnt affect the entire server it is more likely to be a node outside cryptics control

    It was a very large mass DC...i am pretty sure this has something to do with our crappy servers we have for east coast. Not like this is the first time and it was confirmed to be more then one server so it's an east coast server issue....something you would assume they would have worked on and fixed.....they should be putting more of the money we pay them back into the game to fix these crappy servers we have but they dont care. Its a shame really.

    Or... instead of assuming you could have read what they said. Internet is more than Person X and Person Y. And a failure at any point between you and what you want to connect to can knock not just you, but a large number of others off as well. The very fact we didn't all get DC'd (as evidenced by myself and many others who were totally unaffected) means it was likely an error somewhere on the way.

    Yep, this is basically the definition of a regional gateway going down in between a large group of users and the end point servers.
    It's probably only one or two hops away from PWE's ISP, but isn't PWE, and isn't your local internet.

    You guys need to pull your heads out of your ***** and realize that there's a whole lot more to the internet than some magical connection between you and the server.

    In case some don't know how to traceroute...open Command Prompt and write the following script:

     
    tracert pwieast3.perfectworld.com

    Then Command Prompt shows all nodes between you and Raging Tide-server. If the server itself had a problem, it wouldn't show any ping for a numerical IP-address(which ish server's IP) at the end of the list but it would show perfectworldent-blehblehbleh's ping.
