DQ Items worthless

That's not really true. Even before the DQ nerf spirit was always the problem at lower levels. Coin only starts becoming an issue at around 80+ when you start maxing out skills, getting sage/demon stuff, and catching up on the skills you had to ignore earlier.
Is there another version of PWI out that I don't know of?
My wife recently joined PWI and I cannot believe how much money I have to give her and my new toons just to keep skills/repairs/gear going. We aren't talking about high-end stuff here, either. Just run of the mill, ordinary stuff from quests and drops.
Anyone who denies that this is making low-level gaming damned near impossible to enjoy to it's fullest WITHOUT the cash shop is lying to themselves and, in my eyes, has no credibility.0 -

Veno ran up a mil by level 30 despite maxing all the important skills, now begging for SP 'cause I'm usually under 500 with skills short

I agree. I imagine many of the ppl who say it's no problem at low levels either
haven't really played a beginning char for awhile, or they have alts they can
mooch off of, lol. Because that's what I did when I retired my high-lvl chars and
just decided to play low-level ones. For awhile, there was no problem re: coin,
because I'd just get money from my high-lvl alts (or their hand-me-down gear, lol).
But when I started a new char on a new server--no alts--then I saw the
problem. I couldn't buy skills when I qualified for them, due to not enough
coin. Forget about trying to shard or refine or any of that. You just wear
whatever gear you get as is.
And before I get all the responses about how easy it is to make coin by
merching, I don't want to spend a good portion of my time in game
involved in economics. I just don't. I didn't have to when I first started
this game 3+ years ago, and I don't want to now. Sure, I'll sell an occasional
item (I don't have much that's worth anything, lol), and I'll seek out catshops
that are buying dq items, etc., but that's about the extent of what I want to
do. Some may call it laziness, but it's not. It's just that I don't expect a game
in which you're supposed to do quests & kill monsters to require so much
time/effort playing Wall Street.0 -

liar, there is NO way by level 30 you had 1 mil coins period. isn't that many on the total quests from 1-30. not even close. takes less than 10 hrs to level to 30.0 -

If you have a higher lvl toon to pump a few mil into a lower lvl alt then yeah its easy.
But if you just new to game no way in hell are you gonna make the coins for skills and gears
like you did in the pass.
My new sin is just about lvl 80 in just under 3 weeks without doing any fcc b:shutup how you lvl up now is just way to fast and with little or not much coin reward past lvl 50 odd
even lower lvl veno's need skills for thier pets and food and healers need mana pots
the list goes on and on[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0 -

not! still not enough mats to make a million coin by level 30, period!0 -
I have to mooch coins off my main for these lower alts. I hope PWCN reverts the DQ values back to help generate coins for our servers. I also feel sorry for any new players who don't know the in's and out's of the game. If unchanged, I see a loss of new players in the game.0

Ive been leveling a low level character just to see how it is now, and its bad. Coin is an issue because of the dq, but also because quests now only require you to kill 5 maybe 10 mobs which with the droprate we have you might get 2 rough furs being lucky and you can sell those for all of what? Very little coin.
The main problem is not actually the dq or money though, its the lack of spirit. My character (a barb) cant even learn all its skills following the normal questlines because it levels waaay too fast now. The small kill counts and small spirit reward at the end of the quest just isnt enough. The only way i could catch back up on the quests and spirit would be to start feeding the genie mass amounts of my exp so the barb doesnt outlevel all the quests now. Have you seen the quest log now for newbies? Its huge and keeps getting larger as you level.
Venos also have issues keeping pets up to level now in the earlier levels. Most venos are just ditching their pets and not using them at all unless its a herc. Even then, most high level venos dont use their pets because the weapons and armor are so overpowered now its pointless.
Anyway, back on track. DQ does need to be fixed because we arent China and we dont have the mass amount of botting that they have. This is just causing a major problem with newbies who just want to play the game right. Granted, there are lots of problems right now with it, but DQ is a good start.0 -

Go near Orchid temple, kill wolves and taurocs from lvl 25 to 30 and you'll get a lot more than 1 million by selling concentrated glue and rough fur for 8-10k each.
If you really want more coins, invest 3 mirage celestones in a genie and drop all your xp at lvl 30 in it. Rinse and repeat.
Got about 12 mil from mats on a low toon during 2x on Sanctuary server, 2 days, a few hours a day (but oh well, they have overpriced low mat market).0 -
Many reasons stated here already on why this remains a bad unforeseen (hidden) patch update to the US version of the game.
Continue to push this to be reverted, and let us know.
As stated, the previous nerf remains so getting this one corrected before to long will keep it from becoming "old hat"0 -
Guess since no reply so far, will say it again: revert it.
And will now see what if anything this maintenance/patch brings.
You want new players? Revert it.
You want excuses, laziness, disregard for player-base? Keep it.0 -
I saw v4liance's reply from a little while ago. I hope this gets resolved soonish. It's the main thing preventing me from coming back.0

Oh really?Hi everyone,
Just wanted to post an update on this issue.
Right now, I'm still working with the PWI Team and the devs to come up with a good solution to this problem.
I wish I could promise a quick and clean solution or a reversal of the change, but I can't promise what will happen anytime soon.
Still, this is a high priority for me - anything that hurts our players is cause for serious concern - and I'm fighting to fix this as quickly as I can.
Again, I am sorry for this frustrating situation, but please know that this hasn't been forgotten.
I'll try to keep you guys updated on any progress I make.

This is ridiculous. I have 7 characters, all between 40 and 70. Their savings are drained. You can quest your fool head off but the repairs on gear alone will eat the tiny bit you get from selling pots and arrows.
I know you want me to buy more from the cash shop. I already spend about 10-15 a month there and refuse to pay more. As is, I am not spending another dime on this because I am pretty sure that PWI has probably seen an upswing in cash flow and will take that short-term flow over a happy player base. I won't invest anything more in something that I won't be playing soon.
If PWI will undo their damage, they'll keep my business. Maybe they will even admit to having made a mistake with this (haha just kidding, as if). But when the coins run out entirely, I'll be gone.0 -

Wait, what? That's about the same I put in and comes out to something like 15-24 mil coin. I do realize you're juggling 7 chars but still, unless you're trying to get fash, mounts and flyers for each and every one of them, or are going overboard on bank and inventory extensions, that really should cover your everyday expenses. Say 50-60k per BH run for wine split and repairs, 1 mil per char for gears (you've got divine quests for weapons and decent enough quest rewards for that level range) and a lot of the stuff you can move around without an account stash. On the under 60 chars you don't even need to spend on pots as you're getting free charms. And if you're smart enough to collect mats while grinding, at the very least sell them to catshops, questing should come at a profit, especially once you factor in rewards. And are you doing NW on your 7xers?
Now, I do realize the DQ nerf is a horrible blow for low to mid level characters, and this is a situation that needs to be addressed promptly for the sake of the game's future and viability. And yes, skilling doesn't come all that cheap, but MMOs do involve resource management as a necessary component of gameplay and I fear I must tell you that you're doing something wrong here. Perhaps you should focus on getting 1 char to 80+ so that you can have a further income stream instead of trying to twink so many alts without the resources of an established main. I mean, I'm not trying to tell you how to play the game but there's plenty of f2p players that, despite it all, manage to thrive at your level range.0 -

all I see is rerolls.0 -
all I see is rerolls.
b:sweat I never said new players...
There's a very real barrier to progression at 70-90 as quest xp and rewards becomes negligible, gearing/skilling requirements increase substantially, and instanced content becomes the only practical way to level. I didn't mean to imply things are dandy, just that moderate CSing should be enough to break through.0 -

if your talking about rerolls, then it is no longer f2p.0 -

Sounds like a good deal of people either don't know how to merchant or hate to NW on a lower level character(Aka FREE rewards for PK'ing others).0

start a new character, no stash, no feeding it from a previous toon, no nothing and see how far you get. you'll soon find out. that is the point of this thread.0 -

I agree with what you said, but how come a discussion on DQ nerfing and its consequences has drifted so much it ended into one with newbies and their lack of stash?
If it's so, better post in the dedicated thread (http://pwi-forum.perfectworld.com/showthread.php?t=1534811, in case you forgot about it).

Even better, create a new one called "it's hard to be a newbie these days", or sort and fully rant in it.Maintenance time. Please choose a line:

this thread is about a NEW person starting this game from scratch who, because of the nerfed DQ points, can no longer skill nor afford to buy. read the title of the thread. this is not a f2p game any more. you're just full of yourself.0 -

Sorry pal, you are including stuff like stash or using a pre-existing character to help the new one, while it is not talked about in the first place. Besides, she is level 46 (you would be right if she was lv 10 or 20, but she is not). Thus your point is moot.
MasterofIce (the thread opener) is talking about DQ nerfing only and how she will not be able to attain her goal of lv 100 anymore. Did she state anything about f2p or not?
Seriously, don't feel like it's "not so f2p anymore" over many accumulated mistakes/bad decisions from PW China when it comes to PWI.
I know that DQ nerfing is awful. Read my posts on that, there are quite a few of them in this thread.
The absence of stash is the same. There are threads on this as well.
There are other ways to do things while "they are trying to find ways to correct things/find a compensation" (which I hope they will do and on a proper way, with good results).
And yes, I know the emphasis is a lot on cash shopping, since the game is a business after all.
But you are never obligated to use real money to play.
It's a bad idea for people to systematically put "nerfing + removal of good features by patch = game becoming less of a f2p game and more of a p2p game"... That's not helping our cause of trying to have things changed for the better.
Oh and don't personally judge me on what I simply said. It's rude.Maintenance time. Please choose a line:

81/91 are still ok but i expect them to be 1coin soon too,and if thats happend im gonna just leave the game.
You can as well remove DQ from the game at all.Why dont you remove coin drop from mobs too?
Can you dear GM,S tell us how a new player is supposed to make some coin before reach 100?
I SERIOUSLY hope thats a mistake and it will be fixed immediatelyb:angryWe can take 21/31 or whatever low lvl dq was nerfed before today they not worth much anyway, but to make 61/71 worth nothing too, no sir thats just too much to acceptb:infuriated
as a 3+ yr player I would like to say...time for a poll, and the GM's to respond accordingly...and even though it won't happen, yes...we would almost 100% agree...fix it pwi, turn it back, we do not approve of this and it is unacceptableb:angry0 -

Well, our CM (and probably all GMs) is aware of it and is doing his best to have the different issues plaguing us corrected/compensated for. No need for a poll to submit to management. Besides, we never had any legitimate poll from the players to submit to the higher-ups before.
Sadly we have no information on what is currently going on, even mods would tell you that (and no, I am not one of them).
The issue here is to have the developers convinced that it does harm us (and them as well, in a financial way) in the long run and that things need to be adressed so PWI is viewed and worked on differently than PW China and that they should work in a way problems like these would be prevented.Maintenance time. Well after doing the attack on arch vent's iv been puttin my DQ items in AH for 10-12k each and they sold super fast so u can earn more coin than u woud if u just npc em.
My question is, does selling them in AH still count towards your DQ points total on your account.0
