    IP bans are only temporary nowadays, and can easily be circumvented.

    On RaiderZ we've been banning as we see them. Although it's the weekend I just shoot our CM an email with suggestions for the proper actions.

    I'm assuming the bots circumvent the bans you have issued, or has Frankie not banned yet?

    Since it's likely to be the same source (we don't know for certain), I'm assuming the source manages to circumvent the bans by changing their IP address repetedly. Frankie has been banning them since the beginning, but they keep coming back.

    Yeah, banning them won't be effective since all spammers, botters and/or illegal gold sellers know how to deal with IP bans very well. b:surrender

    I'm getting really frustrated with the whole thing. Wish there was some way I could help or you guys could help soon. But alas there isn't anything us regular forum goers can do but be frustrated.

    BTW: Shelly, do you think this {BS Spammage Barrage} could be some sorta delayed retaliation, thats related to that semi-recent Lockout of (IPs & Accounts) from the Middle Eastern area & Egypt??


    {PWi} found enough underhanded stuff going on over there, that they actually did a (Temp lock) on the majority of that entire area (just too nix the group of trouble makers) from having access for awhile... This may well be the 1's who caused that incident, trying out a revenge bit....

    Modding can only go so far, as evident by the recent bot spams.

    What is needed is a more proactive gm.

    The only way these bot attacks are going to stop is either if the spammer stops for whatever reason or if anti-spam features are enabled within the forums like more captchas and security questions.

    Livestream seems to be on a crusade against piracy (e.g. showing youtube videos that aren't yours) so I guess that won't really work out.

    There once a time when I cared about getting to the top quickly as possible to help others. Now, I take it slow, and don't worry about having nothing to do. There's always something to do in an MMORPG, especially if you are high level. PK'ing is for those who desire to inflate their egos. True friendship comes from helping one-another, rather than to start rivalries.

    I agree with the others about Venus becoming a Mod.

    I'd also like to say Nowitsawn and KawaiiJen get my vote as well.

    I'd even go as far as saying Xainou would be a good choice but if she became one I imagine a lot of people would get scratched. b:chuckle

    Thanks for the vote, but I've tried it twice now. First one was about 2 years ago when Fuzzy, Kritty and a few other got selected over me.

    Second one was a few months ago and was sent through PM (through another moderator, who suggested it). Didn't even get as much as a reply.
