    I have a question...

    Is it required to be in a faction with a base for acquiring the new skills? Do I need to be in a faction with a base to enjoy this expansion in other words.

    There doesn't appear to be any connection between the new stuff we are getting and the faction base. The new stuff does however have somewhat similar design in acquiring merit and reforging gear.

    The faction that you need to join is like a sub-faction. There are 3 sub-factions to choose from. Each gives different skills/rewards. The merit you get from each faction is not the same as the merit you get from guild base quest, this is another merit. So no, you can even be guildless but you do need to join one of these sub-factions.

    When you leave a sub-faction, you lose a small percentage of the merit you had, and you need to wait 1 week before you can join a new one.

    The faction that you need to join is like a sub-faction. There are 3 sub-factions to choose from. Each gives different skills/rewards. The merit you get from each faction is not the same as the merit you get from guild base quest, this is another merit. So no, you can even be guildless but you do need to join one of these sub-factions.

    When you leave a sub-faction, you lose a small percentage of the merit you had, and you need to wait 1 week before you can join a new one.

    Sweet, thanks Azura. I shoulda pm'd you in game...people in guild were confusing the hell outta me when they started talking about requiring 35k merit with the faction base for the skills...gave me a "Wtf..." type for a while.

    I realize your question was, for the most part, already answered.

    Allow me to expand on it though for the sake of everyone's sanity.

    "Faction" was a poorly translated word from the chinese version. We don't have new "Factions" like everyone had guessed. Not in the literal sense.

    Our version is using the term Order. Ie Order of Corona (not the beer, the solar eclipse effect, lol), Order of the Shroud, and Order of Luminance.

    New dailies are in the game, tied to each Order, which allow you to gain Prestige (this might not be the term our version uses, but this is what everyone was calling rep a few weeks back) and Merit (which has no relation to merit in your faction/guild)


    Each Order has a few of your new skills, gear, pets, mounts, flyers, all-kinds-of-sht.

    Your skills will require a set amount of Prestige, which does not go down (unless you leave that Order, at which time it decreases by 5%), and Merit to obtain. Merit is spent like coins.

    It will take a few weeks to farm enough Prestige and Merit to obtain your new skills books. Yes they cost coins and spirit to learn at the trainer. 3 million of each. You can NOT obtain all your skills from a single Order.

    For those wondering which Order they will need to be joining first to get their more desirable skills:

    A google translation of the Orders from chinese version will confuse the hell out of most.

    I believe it's Huaguang Will, Dark Hidden Will, and The **** Night's Army.

    again, poor translations lol.

    In the same order as above, here it is for our version:

    Order of Luminance, Order of the Shroud, Order of Corona.


    Now, as for the skill links on the first post in this thread. Sadly they are outdated and most no longer work in the same way. I will try to find enough time to post the most up to date info on them before the expansion hits for those who like to have a plan going into such things. Maybe PWE will beat me to it *dies laughing*.

    im curious to see if mystics summons will benefit from these new magic "hunting" levels, like they already do from regular atk and def lvls.b:surprised

    I looked but I didn't find what you were talking about Bubble's. I might have missed it of course.

    Here, I'll give you an example of what I'm talking about by updated.
    Broken Kettle Tactic
    MP Cost: 163
    Channel: 1.2 seconds
    Cast: 0.8 seconds
    Cooldown: 60.0 seconds

    Required Weapon: Blade or Sword
    Cultivation Requirements: Aware of Vacuity
    Required Level: 100

    Coin Required: 3,000,000
    Spirit Required: 3,000,000
    Order Required: Shroud

    Reduces your Defence level by 40% to increase your Attack level by 50%.
    The positive and negative effects are independent of skills.

    Requires 20 Chi.

    I haven't either. My wife did it for me for the classes i play though, lol. I would like to get them all up here for people to see, but as you said, it's just a few days away and I don't have a lot of free time.

    I don't think I've seen anyone do a full and intelligible translation like that for all classes.

    The Brazil PW blog site linked here a few weeks ago did just that actually. And they did it for all classes.

    im still running into ppl who swear to god that there nerfing aps. if they do i feel it would be kinda stupid to gimp the hard work that SOOOO many ppl have put into there toons and we would see a massive QQ rage quite. not to mention bms (usually relying on aps) almost never actually get rep unless there going for r9 so we would be way behind on all of this.

    from what ive seen though i dont see any indacation of aps being nerfed. and with how much u guys keep this thing updated i think we would have seen it by now. but we cant truly be sure until after expansion.

    not QQing about aps just about them throwing away all the hard work ive done

    It's a leftover rumor from when the test server was testing a feature that would stop a sparked player from getting more chi while sparked.
    Afaik that feature was not popular and was scrapped.

    Just checked back after thinking everything you guise could leak was already posted. And to my surprise- there was more info. Thanks for the info regarding the new rare pet. At first I was thinking 'Why bother? I have a nix'. Then it hit me: Damage Dealer in instances. And furthermore, I'm gonna see about making it a tank with herc buffs o.o... Anyways, that wasn't all I liked. The info about what Orders had what skills and stuff- Very helpful. I'm relying on common sense when I assume that the armor isn't class based, like rank gear since you have the option to choose it. That's some info I've been after since the first mentioning of these gears. Only 2 days before the launch of Descent.

    Well well... its amazing how all the latest translations got the changes to this skill all wrong. This skill was supposed to have been one of those changed and made "more powerful". But the only change here really is that it now "guarantees" a minimum attack level increase of 10 (defense level reduced by at least 20).

    All the "unofficial" translations on the other hand were saying that attack levels would be buffed 50%, full stop. b:shutup

    This skill has gone back to sucking big time.

    Seeker pet damage at 40K soul force is something like 6K per hit. Is Mystic/veno pet damage penalized in PVP (never really thought about it) ?
