    this gear is that bad? or do i needa refine im tempted to quit.. my server is overblown CSers and thats it and i know hot to effectily use my skills im not a fail like most archers on my server >.>

    Generally speaking, those with amazing gear will usually face roll you if your gear is not up to par. Your gear has some nice pieces, but most us under refined or under sharded. Work on your weapon's refines while saving for refines for your nirvana pants and helm (helm first).

    You can get +5/6 refines fairly easily for free. So if you put a little work in it you can improve your current gear. But do you really pk with that band from heavens jail? I wouldn't b:shocked

    Hurr, I have higher damage than you and I'm just using an old +5 cv bow. That's odd.

    Coming from a guy who's only ever played casters, I think archers are still in a great place. Sure, they get ***** by sins, but they can beat the majority of classes. Wings of Grace counters caster spikes, and Aim low counters the BM's. They can kill consistently without risking loss of chi, which lets them save their defensive skills for when it's needed.

    They have multiple ways to wait out the charm tick - stun shot every 15 sec, Wings of Grace every 30, Absolute Domain, and triple spark or awaken + triple spark pressures opponents to either end it now or run away. A well geared archer with high hp and JoSD is surprisingly hard to kill 1v1 if they know what they're doing. Either way, staying within range of a well-geared archer under triple spark means you better know what you're going to do in the next 3 seconds (and be able to avoid the stun) because that's the most you'll have b:laugh.

    Archers are good in TW, tab, pew pew, tab, pew pew, eventually die, repeat. Maybe throw in some fancy stuff.

    Sins are nice in TW as well, but the thing is, they are more of a single target type of killer. With one AoE that is not spammable. Archers on the other hand have BoA, thunder shock, and Sharpened tooth arrow, which helps with groups. Obviously its not like a psychic's crowd control or a BM's crowd control, but it beats a Sin's crowd control. Archers can also be good with single target killing, they just have to stay their distance.


    Each class can shine in TW, just depends how skilled you are, how much effort you put in their gear, and how much money you are willing to pay. Lets just say sins pick the loners who are not in groups in TW, and archers basically go for people who are at a distance.

    Both are good in TW, just play different roles. People probably just see archers to be better because sins go and kill people one by one secretly rather than barrage a bunch, tab pew pew, or whatever.

    I think your problem might be coincidentally related to the fact I was 95, using over 2 year old gear and have the same damage as you. You won't be able to pvp with +4 and definitely not with those points in str/vit. You could have an attack max of 17514 if you got +10 and went pure dex.

    Also I almost said hax defenses, but then I noticed you were in combat boaing lols. Remember when venos had to tank everything? Pre-sin era was good times.


    @Vicarcher: On topic: I think I tried fixing that pwcalc, but gave up because I was too tired. Ideally you could go from a ''95 3 years ago archer'' to a ''wow my gear is actually pretty decent archer.'' To counter the slight minus you would feel from restatting all that vit/str I recommend refines. At least +4 on everything with mirages from BH is relatively obtainable within a week.

    Since the debste of an Archer is so mcuh let me ask you this what distance does a SIN have to be to make a hit. I ran to the end of the line here. LOL to much reading.

    A few of us did a test.

    Granted an Archer needs to be max distance for Max damage with highly refined gear. Archers have always been first in line because they can kill before main forces arrive. The new R9 archer well actually need R8 with R9 bow fully refined would be a rock solid killer OH SINS can kill well also just depends upon how the toon is balanced & used some ppl just don't know how to use their toon.

    Answer is 35 meters (5 meters longer than an archers max range - or 1 meter with both a +2 range x-bow and sage mastery). If you don't believe otherwise you obviously haven't PvP'ed.

    I thought sage gives you 34m range.
